He felt her teeth sink in. It was a kind of euphoria. He had always wondered what it felt like to give in, to let the teeth pierce your skin and to submit to another that could easily drain you. Though that wasn't quite true, he was stronger and larger than her. He was also engorged with blood. But being submissive to someone, someone that shared you basic instinct. That was...That was something else. It was almost freeing the feeling of it.
He felt her sucking at the blood, and he could almost hear her heart racing with the exhilaration of it. He sighed as he let the endorphines spread through his body. "Drink deeper, we're family. Blood family now."
If she were willing, he would drink from her after this. Show her how it was done, how one could or should act with their donor. She would see how raw the emotions and powers were and how close a reign you had to keep, if she allowed.

She was hesitant to deepen her suckling of blood for she was still in uncharted territory. She knew that he would not lead her astray; he was not attempting to use or convert her but merely be a pillar of support and knowledge to her. Inwardly she was still struggling with the concept that she was indeed drinking blood from another. She couldn’t deny how the taste was unlike anything she had experienced before, no fruit nor blade of grass could even come close in comparison. He suckling became a little more eager and she increased the flow of blood sliding down her gullet but not by much, she was still a lady and not gluttonous. The thought of having a family member who could truly understand her made her innards light up. Her father was gone, the only one who could understand had left and yet, here stood Karloff. A father figure in his own right, teaching her the difference between looks and heart.
When she felt she had taken enough in she reluctantly pulled back, calling it good for her first time. She had once eaten a rat given to her by Fyglia but it was nothing like this. Dipping her muzzle into the water she allowed the remnants of the blood to wash away, wishing she could lick it up but not wishing to look eager for more. She turned to her mentor; an awkward expression on her face for no words could form within her mind. She felt full and content for the first time in her life, it was something utterly different. With a deep breath inward she stretched out her neck, offering to repay the courtesy he had just done her.

Karloff watched her, she had done well. She had tight control, but she still partially feared herself for it. She wanted to hold back instead of testing her limits. He watched as she cleaned her face and looked at him almost blushing.
As she bore him her neck, he approached letting his breath hit her neck as he spoke, "Don't be afraid." Biting in gently at first, he deepened the bit with small amount of pressure until the blood flowed freely. He drank deeply, and quickly partially sucking the blood from her rather than letting it flow freely into his mouth. Amelia's blood was like seven courses of blood all together, like desert, drink, main courses....everything all together. Her blood tasted how his blood smelled.
Lessening, the power and control on his bite he backed away. He could feel the blood dripping down his bare fangs. He felt full, gluttonous almost. Her blood was more filling than most. "Are you okay? I only took what you could handle." He waited for her to answer, the heady feeling sanguites sharing blood was spreading throughout his body in a measure of calm.

Feeling his teeth gently bump her neck caused her stomach to flutter with nerves but, hearing him say not to be afraid calmed some of the butterflies. She had eaten things before, namely one rat and one fish but never before had she had another drinking blood from her. She squeezed her eyes shut as she felt his fangs penetrating her skin and she winced ever so slightly as the bite deepened but it was nothing that caused her too much pain or terror. She knew she could trust him; it was not his intention to drink her dry and kill her. She just knew this somehow, knew he was a good guy. She felt her blood flowing and him sucking it down his gullet and she felt strangely at ease. This wasn’t as bad as she originally had thought. He didn’t look like a monster attempting to kill her; he just looked like someone gently satiating his hunger.
When he stopped drinking and took a step back she had a moment of lightheadedness but it was nothing that was too horrible. He hadn’t left her week and unable to take a step, she just hadn’t been used to blood leaving her body. “I am fine.” She replied with a gentle smile. Inwardly her stomach felt warm and satisfied. Grass had always seemed dull and dead to her, the fish and the rat were nice but this was something completely different. She had adored the taste and loved how it made her feel more alive and energetic. She looked to Karloff and took note of her blood dripping from his fangs, it didn’t bother her in the least. “How strange.” She mused aloud.

Karloff laughed warmly as he dipped his muzzle into the water. Lifting it, he shook his face dry while slightly purring. "Fear does...interesting things to us. Things that are not that bad, they become so much worse in our fear. They are what we perceive them to be. When you understand, you make judgment not on archaic beliefs."
Karloff leaned down and licked his paws delicately, his loud purring carrying over the area around them. He was content, his stomach felt warm and sloshy. It had been a long time since he had felt truly full from just one feeding. It was nice to find someone who was not averted from it, who like it as much as he did. It meant something that there was someone else out there that felt the same. Leaning his head up, he looked at her the purr still rumbling in his throat. "Are you satiated? How does it...feel?"

She listened to his purring as he groomed himself while staring up at the moon, taking stock of the silvery rays. She often wondered if the moon could speak what she would have to say. She had witnessed these two drinking of one another’s blood. Would she be disgusted? Delighted? Indifferent? She stared a moment more, catching a glimpse of the shining of her head plate off of the water’s surface from the corner of her eye. Looking down in the water she stared a moment at the shining piece of metal her great grandfather had bestowed upon her. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Karloff speak and her eyes went to him rather than to the water’s smooth surface.
“I am.” She replied with a tense smile. Though she knew everything was fine she still couldn’t wrap her head around the concept that she had split open his flesh to drink his blood. It was still so foreign to her and she found herself a little in shock. “I feel,” she hesitated, “I feel as though my stomach is truly full for the first time in my life….like…I actually ate something worth eating.” She giggled and looked up at the stars, embarrassed. “That probably sounds really dumb…”

Karloff put his hoof down and listened to her musings, letting a cat-like smile slip across his visage. "It makes perfect sense." He closed his eyes, thinking of the first time he had drank blood. "It was like...finding out that what you had been told was food was a lie. That this was the most sweetest, delicious and wondrous taste you had ever experienced. Your whole life before...it was like you were eating dirt. The hunger eased, for the first time in your life, and you didn't feel weak. You felt happy and full, like for once...something in the world was going right."
He purred deeply again, as he opened his eyes. "Is that what you mean?"

Amelia’s ears pricked intently as Karloff’s words reflected exactly what she had felt and was currently feeling. For once her stomach felt warm and satisfied, not cold and barren with grass sloshing around within. Though she knew what he was saying was right on target she still feared admitting it would cause her to become something dark. She looked at him a moment, listening to him while he spoke, but truly observing him. He did not look evil; there was something about him that just told others that he would not harm them unless they first attempted to harm him. He drank blood and he was comfortable with it, he admitted it aloud to the world and he didn’t look the least bit monstrous to her for it. Could she possibly gain this amount of courage and confidence one day? The comforting warmth spreading through her body from his blood was proof enough that she had enjoyed it. She could not deny herself but, could she ever truly accept herself as a whole either.
“Exactly.” She finally managed, a small smile forming on her maw. Even if she couldn’t go around screaming to the world, in this moment, she could feel comfortable with who she was. “Grass never really seemed to make me feel as though I had eaten anything. Mostly I did it to keep up appearances in front of others and my mother…I figured that way—“ The last part was rather painful for her to say but she managed to spit it out. “My mother wouldn’t be stared at or laughed at because of me…”

"Laughter can be as sweet as it is cruel. For a long time, I denied myself friends or understanding. I walked the path to make me forget. To make me one of evil, because I thought my acceptance would be easier that way. That I would feel nothing. But even a cursed one feels, but not as we do. He feels rage, anger...confusion and loss so deep it is intense as well as crippling and driving. My feelings would have been magnified and terrified, but instead of slipping away...I would have made myself into the monster other's believed me to be. I could not do that....I could not become a monster. And for so long, only I was able to believe that it was my path...I and a skinwalker." A small smile spread across his lips again for a moment.
"Don't let the world dictate who you are or who you want to be. Only you can chose that."

It couldn’t have been mere coincidence that had lead her to meeting Karloff. With every word he spoke she felt more and more similarities between them. How often had she felt as though a path of darkness would merit her more acceptance than a path of light and love? How often had she avoided others without first letting them get the chance to either approach her or run away? Again her eyes fell to the water where she took note of her reflection. She wasn’t alone this time though, in the water she could also make out Karloff’s reflection. How could she have possibly been so selfish and naïve to believe she was the only one out there who had ever felt monstrous or different. She looked up at him once more and gave a genuine smile. “Thank you.” She said sweetly. “I have never been able to talk like this with anyone and it makes me feel as though there is hope for me. I feel a comradery between you and I that I don’t normally feel even around my own family. It is funny,” she hesitated, “you seem to be speaking exactly how I am feeling now. You have experienced all of this before and now you are being kind enough to share your strength with a complete stranger…” Her throat became constricted as a lump began to rise and she had to stop speaking. She finished with a delicate laugh, one of pure relaxation, something she hadn’t felt for a very long time.

Karloff approached her in his slow, steady gate. Leaning to her, he nudged her and purred. "We were never strangers, only family that had not met yet. Blood doesn't matter as much as anyone thinks." He gave a small smirk, as he leaned his muzzle back into the water to drink. He would give her a moment, give this sweet discovery time to settle in before he spoke more. Moments of such depth and feeling did not occur all the time, and they should be savoured.
He looked back up at her, "Family by blood." He gave a small laugh. "But more so family by heart."

Amelia listened intently as Karloff called her part of his family, she had heard of having family that wasn’t necessarily related by blood but she hadn’t ever experienced it. As he dipped his head down to the water she looked up to the sky and the stars above. For so long she had felt alone, only Idonea being one of those brave enough to befriend her. The small twinkling lights in the sky almost began to sing with this new realization. Her eyes went to Karloff again and a soft smile painted her countenance. She wasn’t alone and for whatever reason she felt as though she was standing near her father. She knew he was not her sire but he had spoken the words she wished her father had. Explaining to her that she was not a monster, just different and telling her she wasn’t alone. “Family.” She said gently. She had family of course but none of them who understood her like Karloff did. He had been through it all and overcome it. “I finally feel like someone understands me…”

"That's what family is. They try to understand you, even if they've never been where you are. It's a common tie, that has them stay with you and want to be bonded to you. That's what family is. That's what my mother would have been, had she been able to. But my father, he was not...my family. And now he can never be." He purred gently, and looked up at the stars too.
"I met a mare, who is now a mother to me. She told me the story of creation, and she passed no understanding on me. She loved me for I am, who I was. She loved me, before I loved me." He turned to look at her again, a cat-like expression on his face.

Amelia’s expression dropped a little as he spoke of family attempting to understand even if they had never had the same experiences. She was sure her family had tried to understand her but at some point she felt as though they had just given up. They were horrified by the nature of her birth and the darkness swirling around the topic of her father. A shudder racked Amelia’s body as a flash of memory from her birth came to her. She had been told that normally foals didn’t remember their birth but the sound of her mother’s screams as the flaming filly was brought into this world would never leave her. Squeezing her gleaming eyes shut and calming the flames burning at her legs she cleared her throat and looked up to Karloff. “W-what happened?” She enquired delicately, not certain as to whether or not she was delving into a place she ought not to.
“The story of creation?” Amelia looked away from him for a moment. Her mother certainly loved her but often times she would cry because Amelia reminded her so much of her absent love. It was painful for her to realize how much pain she had caused her mother in her birth and life. With a sigh she lowered her nose down to the water and touched it just enough to make shallow ripples. “I hurt others Karloff….” She mumbled sadly. “How can someone love me if am to burn them and leave scars?”

Karloff closed his eyes for a moment, the memories not as painful as they once were. "My mother was murdered, and I was left scarred, alone. My father returned and forsook me. He...couldn't deal with it. He left me to die, to fend for myself...to do whatever." He shrugged his shoulder muscles, "So he's not my family."
"Yes, how mother Gaia created the earth." He smiled at her questions. "When you love someone, it doesn't matter. Haven't you heard, fire tempers love. It molds and shapes it. But you'll discover that."
