Jove sagged ever so slightly with relief as Tomoko went ahead and added tea and honey to both cups. That was exactly what he needed, and the way his ear perked up as he took the mug indicated that he did not mind it sweet. At least, judging by the smell.
He gave it a good sniff before following her lead and taking a sip. Being a ghost he was completely unphased by the temperature of the liquid, the little kitsune could have handed him a mug of boiling water and he would have given it the same attempt. It was definitely not the same as the tea his caretaker used to drink... The pup tried to sip it much the way Tomoko was, instead of downing it one tasty gulp at a time.
When the little pirate rubbed against his leg, Jove glanced down curiously and watched Desades with equally large eyes. He seemed immune to their pleading effect.
Then he looked over at the lone pillow on the floor, wondering if they were to sit down again. Also wondering why Tomoko herself didn't have a pillow, and if he would even make it down onto the floor without spilling his drink.

She honestly wouldn't have faulted him for gulping it all down in one go. But she did her best to sip it gingerly as she walked back over to where she'd put Jove's pillow and planted herself again, taking a moment to tuck her three tails around her legs before she settled on them, in a manner like one would to sitting on their legs.
It was almost a pillow with the masses of tails she had to her name! Well, three. BUT MAYBE SHE'D GET MORE. She had no idea. Well, she -did- have one. She was hoping for like...6. Maybe. She probably wasn't awesome enough for more than that. Once she was settled, she took another sip of tea, watching Jove awkwardly, before holding a hand up to him.
"You can borrow my hand if you need to...or if you need me to hold something while you sit down." she offered, rather keen on not having Jove spill it all over himself. Then again, Desades might have romped happily and tried to help clean it up. He was already at Tomoko's knee, making pleading eyes at the girl. Oh, coul he have some?
Could he???
He almost immediately shoved his face into the cup when it came close enough, Tomoko eeping and lifting it back up again to keep the bakekitsune out. He seemed disappointed, before immediately turning to the new-fox-in-the-room to make google-y eyes at. Maybe HE would share!

Jove blushed, his cheeks glowing with a soft light that made it hard to miss the expression, but he let Tomoko hold his tea anyway. No sense being stubborn over it, and ending up with a mess on his hands. And his friend's carpet. His good ear flattened slightly to match the damaged one, spilling his tea would definitely leave a bad impression...
He tried not to look over at the little kitsune as he slowly lowered himself to the ground. It was embarrassing, with his leg, and the awkwardness, but he wore a stoic expression when he took back his mug of tea.
It's scent was soothing to the little pup, but apparently he wasn't the only one to find it pleasant. When Jove looked up, the little bakekitsune was staring. A baser part of him could understand and sympathize with the big "I want" eyes, the doggy part that did on occasion come out with a wide hopeful stare, but the little creature's person had said no. No tea for Desades.
Jove murmured a little apologetic noise, and hunched over his tea so he could smell it while he listened for Tomoko's chatter. She could talk about pretty much anything she wanted, and he would be a quiet, attentive little sounding board.

Tomoko seemed to not notice Jove's embarassment at all. In fact, she hadn't at all. She'd just been making nice offers to be helpful and relinquished the mug just as quickly as she'd accepted it before taking a long drink from her own cup, treating it more like hot chocolate than a refined tea.
It was too sweet for her to not try to drink it all down in one gulp.
There was a long silence as it seemed neither of them were going to pipe up in conversation. Tomoko wasn't sure what to talk about. Jove had been really quiet and part of it made her nervous. She wasn't sure what to talk about either, staring at the boy anxiously while sipping at her tea. It wasn't like she was trying to unnerve the boy with her stares either, she just wasn't sure if he was enjoying himself or not.
"Have you seen everybody else since we got back from the trip?" she inquired finally. She'd mostly only seen Junko since the trip had been over, but her stress level had hiked itself up way too far, making her anxious, nervous, and really she never wanted to leave the school ever again.
It had been really really bad.

Unlike the kitsune, Jove wasn't uncomfortable in the silence. For him, not talking was natural.
It wasn't until his stomach started bothering him that he appeared uneasy. The pup hadn't been able to eat or drink much since their return to the school, and it appeared the lingering anxiety and stress was still affecting him more than he otherwise let on. It was hard, not only coping with his memories of the island, but the shaken state his friends were in.
He glanced up when Tomoko spoke, and gave a slight tail wag. He had seen Ren, and Junko and Yaya, and now he was seeing her. He might not have said so but he was glad she had fared better than himself. She was too small and innocent to have seen such things... It didn't even cross his mind that he was equally small.
Jove inhaled deeply, still taking comfort from the scent of the tea, if not drinking it. His glowing eyes closed. Maybe if he was lucky he could have tea with Tomoko again, and have the pleasure of actually drinking it all.

When Jove wagged his tail, Tomoko's own three perked up, the tip of one of them wagging slightly as well (if all three had, it would have been a mess of tails everywhere and possibly flung Bakekitsunes as well, eep!). She was glad to be able to wag her tails and be able to look at Junko without seeing her in that final moment of being crushed under rock again.... .....
She paused as the thought passed through her mind, this glazed and rather horrified look coming over her face.....and her cup spilled right out of her hands and all over her in the moment of horror, jerking her out of it quite quickly as she immediately stood up, ears drooping and a spew of japanese raining out of her mouth;
From the tone of it, she was berating her stupidity...and apologizing to Jove for some reason, based on the flew of bows she offered to the boil before she ran back over to her practically magic closet to grab a towel, ears remaining drooped even after she'd returned to start cleaning up.
"That's been happening a lot lately..." she mumbled, embarassed. She'd put so much effort into making sure Jove didn't lost -his- tea that she hadn't even put the same precautions into her own care.
On a more positive note, Desades had happily jumped up to start licking at the carpet to try and 'clean up'.

Jove's ears perked up in surprise, both at her change of expression, and then as the tea fell from her hands. Then the string of language he didn't understand had him head-tilting quite noticeably. He was used to his caretaker's british accent, some of which he shared ever so slightly, but this was an entirely different language.
He blinked at the sudden flurry of activity, and then set down his own mug to lean forward. Putting his weight on his good arm, he slipped his bad one out of it's sling and tried to helpfully dab at the carpet with a corner of the towel Tomoko wasn't using. He couldn't put any weight into it, but he sure tried his best.
"Hrrrf..." Jove made a little comforting noise, the sort that said it's okay, we're all a bit shaken, his unsmiling expression gentle. After they had all survived that field trip, what was a little bit of spilt tea between friends?

It was OK, Jove, Desades was helping too! See? The Bakekitsune tried to shove his nose under the towel that was dabbing up the spilled tea as the two worked, Tomoko's ears remaining drooped. She did, however, lean over and touch the side of her head gently against his for a moment.
"Hrrrchhhrip...." she returned with a slight chirp of her own, seeming content after a few minutes of dabbing up the hot mess, before turning her attentions to drying herself off, a rather quick process in and of itself given how..unthorough she was about it (she did wring out part of her skirt onto the towel, however).
"Thank you, Jove."
Tomoko seemed at least a little bit better once she got that thought through her head she was improved, if not still a little embarassed by the tea-spilling. But fortunately enough she didn't seem to have burned herself with it.
"I think a week of some good things happening will help everybody get past all of the bad things from that trip. Like EyeScream with Junko. EyeScream is a good fixer-of-things, right?"

Jove's tail wagged ever so slightly at Tomoko's little noise, it was rare to be with someone who also seemed to verbalize the way he did. Sure she talked more than him, by far, but he understood those other noises on a different level.
He murmured wordlessly once again in response to her thanks, and sat back on his heels to pick up his own tea, before Desades realized it would be much easier to drink than the stuff on the carpet. The pup looked down at it, inhaling the sweet scent once more before holding it out and offering it to Tomoko with a head tilt. He wasn't going to drink any more of it, just smell it, so he figured it would be better off in her hands. His keen nose would smell it from over there just fine.
It didn't occur to him that it might be awkward for her to take, Jove hadn't been educated as thoroughly in the art of receiving and entertaining guests. All he knew was that she had no more tea, and he had tea to spare, so it seemed perfectly logical to him.
His ear did perk at the mention of Junko. Surprisingly enough, the pup had never eaten eyescream, and could only imagine if it fixed things or not. Was it a sort of glue?

Tomoko hesitated a moment before taking the offerred cup from Jove. She certainly wasn't offended he wasn't drinking it, though she paused momentarily before she took a sip of it. Hmmmm, she'd made his a little bit sweeter than her own, now hadn't she? Not that it mattered to her. There was nothing wrong with sweetness.
Well, sans an excess of it making her sick, but didn't all kids get sick if they ingested too much sugar?
However, it seemed that with the similar method of communication via chirrups and other canid noises, Tomoko did well enough to read the vague suggestions of his expressions, something that caused her ears to stand up a little bit higher than they had been previously. Oh?... Oh!
"It's a treat. Frozen, has chunks of stuff in it like candy or fruit or ..other things.." she'd seen a blood flavor and one with spiders in it before...neither sounded that appetizing, "and it's sweet. It's kinda the opposite of chai." she nodded, finding this explanation suitable more or less.

The pup's tail wagged, glad Tomoko had accepted the tea sharing. It hadn't yet occurred to him that hanging out with a ghoul roughly his own age wasn't as weird as he had imagined, and that maybe it was only kissing and whatnot that spread all those infectious little cooties. Sharing tea certainly set off no inner alarm bells.
Jove's good ear perked up quite enthusiastically as the kitsune explained eyescream to him. It sounded like... frozen cookies! He imagined the kind Alessa often baked, with bits of candy and whatnot cooked inside, and had no trouble picturing those with fruit instead of candy or chocolate.
Certainly if eyescream was just frozen cookies, it would fix all sorts of things.

"It's really good! We should go get some together sometime so you can try it." she offered, the concept of the fact she'd more or less suggested a 'date' not even passing through her head. Dates? Pah!! Eyescream was something one went out with their friends to get, right?
Or family.
But that's how she saw it, anyways! Though she'd gone out far too recently to get it to think 'HEY, LET'S GO RIGHT NOW READY GO'. Plus she wasn't really up for taking really long walks away from the school right then. But if Jove had wanted to go, she would have! She certainly wouldn't have turned it away.

It sounded like a lot of fun, going out for frozen cookies with someone his own age, and the pup's tail began to wag. Jove wasn't entirely sure where to get eyescream himself, he had only left the school grounds to go on walks by the river and through the forests before the field trip, and he had hardly any reason to leave his room since, let alone the campus. The town was merely a place he had passed through when he was first taken to Amityville to start his education.
But as he thought on it, he realized it made him nervous to think about leaving again. The last time people had gotten hurt. And he didn't know the maul and the town were safe places where students could travel without being attacked. Besides, his incorporeal stomach was still not ready for solid food...
Jove's good ear fell to match his bad one, and he gave a little whine to express his conflicting emotions. He wanted to go, but for now it was probably best if he had some more time to recuperate.

Tomoko was quick to answer the expressed concerns;
"Well, I went with Junko a few days ago, so it might be better if I wait a little while longer before I go out again. I snuck something I shouldn't have and I don't want to push my luck and make myself sick." she said, though from her tone she was clearly imagining something other than 'sick'. In fact, she was imagining her mother appearing out of nowhere and staring her down disapprovingly.
HOW DARE YOU EAT EYESCREAM MORE THAN ONCE IN A WEEK. U R BAD CHILD.
Honestly, her mother's disapproving face scared Tomoko a touch more than the idea of getting sick. That and being labeled as a bad child. She already had enough complexes about that as it was.
"We can go next weekend or the week after." she suggested, "Then if we want anybody else to go with us we can give 'em enough of a warning ahead of time." she paused, making a slight puzzled face. "That's the polite way to do it, right?"

Jove's tail went back to sporadic wags, the promise of future treats was enough to boost his spirits again, and the thought of sharing treats with friends completely reversed the earlier ear flop.
He wasn't well versed in polite behaviour, and although he could be quite the little gentleman at times with surprising fits of canine empathy, it was far from intentional. So he was only sort of guessing when he nodded. In the pup's mind politeness was less of a consideration than how much more fun it would be to have his favourite people involved.
Maybe in a week or so his stomach would fix itself...
