When ε XII asked if she knew how to play the part of a medic, ε III shook her head slightly. "Not particularly. I suppose that I just wrap the wound and that'll help stop bleeding...?" Basic knowledge was available to her brain, but she didn't have any real skills or anything like that. But then again, did anyone else have any real skills with their items?

"Leader...? Oh, I suppose we do need someone to help organize this trope of ours..." For some reason, ε III didn't state that she didn't want to be the leader. In the back of her brain, her thoughts were whispering to each other, "If you lead, you can ask people to protect you. You're the medic...you need protection to perform your duties."

It seemed the boy who'd picked up the knives was asking a question about a death fight. Slightly alarmed, ε III responded, "Not here. I'm going to assume that we're a team, since we all have the same colors and letter sign. But outside, with everyone else that was in that classroom...there probably will be fighting."

Another man had been awakened, and pulled a club-like piece of wood from his bag. Good, at least she wasn't the only one without the daggers.

And then another boy (or at least she assumed from the different armor) came up and OF COURSE, also had daggers. Another boy didn't show them what he had, which made ε III a bit suspicious.

Speaking to her group in general, ε III said, "Since I am the only one so far who has bandages, I believe I am the medic. As such, I will probably need someone who can protect me from enemies. Something tells me that, usually, the enemy tries to get rid of the medic first. Thus...I'd like to request that I have someone with me who can fight, so that I can continue to do my duty as our group's healer." There, now she'd announced what she needed people to hear.

[ Team member ε VII wakes up in Tent ]

It took ε VII a while to stir. When he finally came too his eyes were still droopy behind the gas mask. Events still swirling in his mind as things came to. The brief intro, the mention of not taking off the mask... Survival.

Facing twitching behind the mask at the thought, how in the world would anyone survive out here? As a matter of fact, ε VII didn't even know where here was.... Head turning this way and that he caught sights of other team members. There were numbers on the sides of their heads... he frowned, wondering if he had one too.

The cell phone at his side vibrated indicating there was a message. A quick glance over and a sigh, well they were in it for the long haul it seemed. Getting up slightly wobbly from having been asleep so long ε VII walked towards the tables with the kits, bags and map on them. Taking a look at each. "What are these?" He clearly had missed something and seemed still sleepy as he directed the question to anyone that would answer.

Grabbing the bag he was pretty sure was his own, ε VII idly listened to the chatter around him, not paying much attention to any which one. It wasn't that he didn't think all the information wasn't important, but mostly the fact that he didn't really feel tied down to any of the strangers. He came in with no friends and acquaintances and would mostly likely go out the same, that is unless someone decided he was safe to approach anyway.

Digging through the items he pulled out the dagger that sat hidden amongst the other stuff and took his time to look it over, his fingers slowly running along the blade as if he were pondering thoughts of murder or betrayal. Nah, such thoughts and actions would just get him killed.

Scuffing, ε VII places the dagger on his person and closed his bag back up.
"If you are expected to work with someone in a survival setting, then you must learn to trust them on some level, right?"

He turned his unseen gaze towards EVI.
"So if they want to get close, then that is their choice. It will just be a matter of time before they see if it is equal trust or a mistake in the making. You never know, someone in here could be a wolf in sheep's clothing, or not. Best learn to sleep with eyes wide open."

Once again chuckling to himself, he crossed his arms and turned his attention to the new presumed leader of the team. While it sounded interesting, playing bodyguard wasn't really his thing, especially when at times he could have the attention span of a puppy in a room full of toys.

Just as he opened his mouth to respond his attention turned once again, this time to the newly awakened member.

"Why not find yours and find out? Who knows, maybe you'll get a grand surprise, like something that everyone else doesn't have."

ε III looked up as another of their team members seemed to awaken. He (?) seemed a bit wobbly though. He'd checked his phone, and that gave her a chance to see what his number was. ε VII.

He'd come over to the bags, and ε III gave a nod at her new team-mate before explaining as best she could. "I am ε III, self-proclaimed medic of the group. You must be ε VII. These are the bags that contain what we can use to survive. Inside includes some kind of weapon...unless you're a medic like me, in which case you will find bandages. The bag number corresponds to your own. You should also pick up a First-Aid Kit, in case I am...unable to assist you. And as you can probably gather, we seem to be a team, as we all match color-wise, and we have the same letter symbol on our masks." She tapped the side of her head where she knew her number would be.

In a less form tone she said, "That's all I know, really. In any case, It's good to meet you. Are you feeling alright?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.

ε IV Entering Epsilon Squad Base

Voices. ε IV could hear a group of people talking around her--voices that slowly seeped through the haziness of her mind and flickered vaguely in her consciousness. She emitted a soft groan, forcing her eyes open a crack so that she could look up at the others blearily, "Everybody shut up," she murmured drowsily, pulling her legs up to her chest, "I'm trying to sleep--"

Her words died off abruptly, eyes widening as her eyes adjusted to the light, allowing her to take in the appearance of everyone around her. She jerked upwards at once, backing herself against a wall and shooting everyone a look of alarm. Gas-masks! Why were they all wearing gas-masks? "What...who the hell..." What was she doing here? Who were these people (and why were they wearing this hideous shade of violet-pink)? Most importantly: who was she?

Her hand flew to her head as it throbbed and, once her gloved hand met the hard side of her own gas-mask, a flood of memories--the only thing that she could remember--rushed into her head. A classroom. That voice from the cloaked figure. You want to be here, it--he?--had said, before sprouting off some kind of nonsense. Something about release forms, candidates...it was all a blur to her now, really.

The only thing she could recall with relative clarity were the bags. They contained the supplies needed to survive in this...place, right? And there the bags were, sitting on top of one of the tables.

Without a word to anyone else, she pushed herself up and trudged towards the table on slightly wobbly legs. Her gaze swept over the remaining bags before she turned to her company. "I always was a late-riser. Any idea what's going on? And...could someone let me know which number I've been graced with?" From the looks of everyone else, the number was on the mask, a place that she conveniently couldn't see for herself.

"I didn't mean for that to come out cruelly. I think it's the stress of all of this. II think we should be careful, is all that I'm saying," he answered EVIII. He hadn't meant to sound like a complete and total jerk, in general he was rather polite but these were extraordinary circumstances and he was too confused to play the gentleman. EVI eyed the other male's blade thoughtfully, EVIII's advice on sleeping with one eye open seemed justified with most of the others gaining weapons.

"Having bandages doesn't make you an automatic medic, you've got a few pieces of cloth and no training." He frowned, an action that was hidden behind his mask, it was odd trying to read body language behind armor and the apparatus on their faces. How would you know what any of the others were going to do, or plotting about.

Turning his attention away from the self-proclaimed medic he looked to the girl that was just waking up in this hell nightmare of a place.

"Your number is IV," he answered, "Welcome to the party, I guess."

ε XII watched the other members of the team from her vantage point near the other tables. One of the newly awakened pulled out a club from his bag, a surprising divergence from that knives that ε XII had assumed were standard issue. She narrowed her eyes when one teammate chose not to reveal his weapon. What did he have in the bag? Was it a knife? If so, why should he hide it? ε XII put her hand down on the table behind her and jerked as it slipped on a piece of paper.

What?

ε XII turned quickly to inspect the offending object and, squinting through her pink-tinged goggles, discovered that it was a map. A map! They had a chance here after all! Except that, upon further examination, ε XII realized that their location was not marked on the map. In fact, it wasn’t much of a map at all. There was no clue about where they were supposed to go or where the other groups from the classroom might be located.

She turned back towards the others in time to hear ε III introduce the situation to the newly awakened. Well, if anyone was going to take the leadership role, maybe the medic was the best choice. It would be in her best interest to try to keep everyone else alive. Well, those who promised to protect her, at least.

“ε III?” ε XII piped up. “I think you’re right. We all need to stick together and protect those of us who can’t help themselves. A knife isn’t much of a weapon, I’ll admit, but it’s better than nothing. And I would definitely appreciate some bandaging if I ever need it.” I hope I never need it.

There, she committed herself to the team’s medic. She glanced over at the boys who had disparaged the thought of trusting each other, now backpedalling. There were thirteen people in the pink team. Thirteen people were allowed to live at the end of all of this. It didn’t make sense to ε XII not to work as a team. There was strength in numbers, after all.

As one of their 'newer' members spoke about how having bandages didn't make you a healer, ε III gave a shrug and responded. "Which is why I say self-proclaimed. Having something to heal, though, as opposed to a weapon, places me in the healer position. Even if I don't know have to perform medically, I still have something to heal people with. Thus, I'd like to think that my role is Medic."

Then, she heard her number spoken by one of the girls form eariler. "Yes?" she said automatically, turning to look at the girl(?). She gave a serious nod and smile (although the other couldn't see the smile) when ε XII mentioned that she would stick with her. "Thank you. I'll be glad to heal you if you come into contact with any injuries."

Looking around at the newly awakened and growing team, the self-proclaimed medic stated in a slightly more serious tone, "Does anyone think that perhaps we should organize a search party? It would be good to know if any other teams are nearby, and prepare accordingly."

"Careful is nice, but we can only be so careful when we don't even know where we are, who we are and whom else is out there. I doubt we are the only ones in the area. If we aren't, I don't believe they will be very friendly to us in this game of survival."

Sighing, ε VII moves his hands to cross behind his head, his eyes turning to watch those waking up and moving about, or more importantly ε XII discovery of the map. He slowly moved from the second table over towards the one holding the map so he could take a look at it.

"Search parties are nice and all, but don't you think we should at least take a peek outside, or ask those whom have been outside to see if it is safe for searching? It wouldn't be very useful and productive if someone stepped out only to get shot down, or carried off by some monster? Though, it would be interesting to watch..."

He shook his head to stay on topic, though the image did amuse him on many levels.

"And as long as we are giving out and taking jobs we might as well start being a team by seeing where each of us would fit in this party."
PostPosted: Sat Apr 02, 2011 3:20 pm

"Search party for what?"ε II suddenly spoke up, addressing the "self proclaimed medic", who already seemed to be trying to pick fights when she desperately needed someone to look out for her. Sound strategy, "I think more important than finding out if other groups are nearby-- and there probably are-- I really think we need to decide if we're all in, or fracturing now."

ε II shrugged, and grabbed his first aid kit, and placed his backpack on his back.

"We'd do better if we all worked as a team, at least for the time being. You guys might want to lose the pink capes though. Sort of defeats the purpose of being able to hide."

ε II began to remove his.

ε VIII had answered the question with 'why not find yours and find out'. Well that was helpful thought ε VII. He gave a soft frown that couldn't be seen and a slight confused look. How was he suppose to find his?

Suddenly ε VII was being addressed by a female sounding member, he noticed the number ε III as she said it. He gave a nod, "Thank you." He replied after a few moments wait, letting the information sink in. "I'm just a bit... groggy.... I think." He replied to her question of feeling alright.

He nodded, "I'll be fine once I fully wake up." He looked to see where his things were, finding his number on them before picking up the bag and opening it.

"Has anyone even been outside?" Asked ε VII. In response to the question of 'ask those who've been outside'. He pondered at loosing the cape. "The cape could come in handy... if we run out of bandages though or need the material for something... couldn't it?"

Number Six listened to her answer and decided it was best not to bother, it seemed like it was no use explaining that looking to someone as the groups only healer who had no training doing such things was foolish. He'd believe she was a healer when he saw it. Her bedside manner was already leaving something to be desired. And what if the other sleeping occupants had bandages in their own goody bags? he snorted and turned his attention to number two as he spoke.

ε II's idea seemed like a sound one, they were wearing bulls eyes on their back. Number Six slipped his off and folded it taking care to do so neatly. He was having mixed feelings, should he set it back on his cot, or stuff it in his own luggage of sorts. He had two bags now, a sack and first aid kit, the fabric could prove useful.

"Could be useful, does the map explain how large the area we're in is? What if we have to spend time away from the tent?"

"I'm in, for now, unless something comes up that divides us," he answered slowly, thinking about it. It made sense to have allies, but it didn't make a whole lick of sense to trust a stranger, particularly ones you couldn't see their faces.

(LP, you're ε VII. Riri is ε VIII, and they probably just accidently used your number since they're so similar. ^^; )

The boy ε III had been next to asked what they would need a search party for. Nodding slightly she said, "Perhaps scouting would be a better term. None of us have gone out yet, so we have no knowledge of our location. And since we don't know where we are, we could easily get attacked by a rival group. If we know a bit of the terrain, we could probably fight better or know where they might be coming from. After all, if the outside of the tent is the same color as it is in here, a pink tent is rather noticable compared to other potentially-colored tents."

It seemed the groggy member was coming around a bit more. ε III gave him a nod. "You're welcome. And I don't think anyone has left the tent yet." She said, to answer his question. After all, she'd been the third up, and she hadn't seen anyone leave yet, so it was reasonable that no one had yet.

When the others spoke of staying as a team, ε III nodded. "We do have safety in numbers. I see no reason for us to seperate and make ourselves easier for the enemy to destroy." After all, there was thirteen of them, and thirteen people could win this survival game. If they worked together, perhaps they could be the thirteen that make it out alive.

Where did ε XII fit in this party? Well, she had a knife. But then again, everyone had a knife. The only advantage ε XII had at this point was the map, though she couldn’t see how to put it to good use now. Nevertheless, she clutched the paper tighter as the boy approached.

“The map doesn’t say much of anything at all. There are five areas with names, but it doesn’t say which one we’re in. I think if we want to know that, we need to go outside. It would be easy enough to know if we’re in a town, cornfield, beach, or lighthouse, right?”

And there it was: The talk about remaining a team or splitting up. ε XII hoped desperately that they would choose to stay together. Otherwise ... well, ε XII didn’t want to think of any of these people as her enemies. She didn’t know them, not at all, but she also didn’t know herself. They were in this together, for better or for worse. Pink team power, right?

“I, uh, don’t think we should remove our clothes.” ε XII had flashes of memory from the classroom, which seemed less and less like a dream now that she was awake. As much as she would give anything to take the damned gasmask off of her face, she knew better than to try. “I mean, they gave them to us for a reason.”

ε VII stared at the gun in his hand. Head actually tilted to provide the others with a sense of his confusion. He was curious as to why he had a gun where as the others as far as he could tell, seemed a bit lacking as they had knives or bandages or... was that one member holding a club?

However, he supposed it could be worse, nodding at ε XII, ε VII pondered. Everyone had good ideas thought seven. It was the problem of actually dragging them out. "Is it possible that without the identifying colors we might actually hurt someone from our own team if we startled each other?" He asked before holding up the gun fingers away from the trigger, "I mean these seem not to be toys..." he had been inspecting it for a while, letting the others talk.

"Maybe the brightness drives away any monsters?" It was a dumb idea, why would there be any monsters here anyways. If it was a town, lighthouse, beach, or cornfield... monsters surely didn't exist right?
