Normally, when a girl told Howl they loved him, he lost interest in the girl entirely. It was a sign of their friendship that the wizard did not; in fact, he tightened his hold on Kali slightly, burrowed into the blankets, and slowly, slowly, fell asleep.
Morning came, but the wizard chose to ignore it. He buried his face in his pillow, grumbling. Stupid sun, didn't it know that he wanted to sleep longer? With a wave of his hand, the light stopped showing through the window. He moved closer to Kali and snuggled. "Mornin'," he mumbled.

"No." Kali grumbled, burying her face deeper into a pillow as well - at least, until the offending sunlight disappeared. Then, blearily, she looked up to see where it had gone. Then she realized she didn't care, so long as it was no longer slamming into her face, and flopped back down to curl further into Howl.
"Mmm...thanks..." She yawned, snuggling down into her bed.
