"I want to make sure he gets what's coming to him!" That was quick, annoyed, shooting a look down at Zac. Yes, Ever was better enough that the distance had gone out of his eyes, that he seemed properly annoyed and frustrated and back in his skin.
"Some a*****e going around and playing at hero but beating on people for no reason? It's mine, Zac." Besides, Ever didn't very well want to be indebted to Zac -- well, Zink -- if he could help it.

"Hmm..." Zac said narrowing his eyes. "SO you wouldn't like to have the help of someone else on the team to whup his sorry Senshi butt?" He asked it casually but there was a dagger there in the words. His own hostility at being denied the pleasure.
"I still want the information Ever, I'm making a database... I -need- that information so that we can assess threats... You don't deny me that... ever." His voice was taught and his fists clenched.

"Or what, Zac, you'll beat the s**t out of me?" As if that was innovative. "You'll energy drain me?" As if it would be the first time. It wasn't that Ever really minded sharing the information. He had it, not only in his mind, but also as much of it as he could remember written on the back of a form he'd had to fill out at the clinic. Couple hours of waiting, he hadn't had much else to do...
"How about you just stop threatening me all the damned time?" He stood, finally, to snatch up his ruined clothing and crumple it into a ball.

Zac's scowl was thunderous. "You're right... people should die because you have a personal vendetta for a senshi and your too butt-hurt to take the help or offer up the info... ******** you... I swear to god if you hold back information on the person who nearly killed Linarite..."
"God DAMNIT... what the HELL is it I'm missing here..." He waved his hands. "YOU set up the situations that make me want to WRING your godforsaken NECK and then you act SO ******** surprised when people are irritated at you. I just offered you HELP and I didn't attach ******** strings for once... You're on a -team- if you like it or not...even if you aren't on MINE you'll find yourself answering to Tanzinite or other Generals who WILL wring your neck just for vanishing like you did."
It might or might not be true but the threats in Elision to Ever's continued well being were a useful enough reminder just at the moment.
"I don't -get- you... I think you're smart...I think you could do REALLY well.. I think you could help prevent s**t like what happened to you from happening to other people that you might ACTUALLY care about, but you need to trust SOMEONE else to do that... or you'll ******** DIE..."

There were always strings attached. Ever threw his clothing into the trash, smoothing fingers up the back of his neck and drawing in a few deep breaths: not looking at Zac but at the wire can, so that he wouldn't do something really stupid like try to slap the kid.
"I never said I wouldn't tell you. Never once. I put down my request, and you started threatening me." No, that wasn't entirely fair; he flicked a look back at Zac, still frustrated and bruised and very, very new to this.
"I guess not threatening. Just playing big shot. Intimidating." Emphasis on big shot, with a mocking ring behind it: another cruel stab at poor Zac's height. "If you think I'm smart, then how about treating me like it? I turned twenty two a few days ago, not twelve."

"How about when YOU act like it..." He snapped back. "I offered you help and all you can do is think about your PERSONAL revenge... if you're so old and wise then get a -clue-... DO you really think someone who beats up the DESK CLERK at the library will stop at you? What if he targets the rest of your FAMILY ever...what if he targets MINE...or someone else's JUST because he can... INFORMATION... I -need- it... I am not letting you or your FAMILY or anyone else's family be the target of some mindless power trip BEATING with no other purpose than the fact it made some Senshi FEEL good...there is NO greater good in that."
He raged and threw his hand wide...waved it like he wanted to say something more and then just brought it back to rub at his temple looking tired and far younger than his years. Baby faced in his own right when he wasn't -staring- at you with that un-nerving all too detail oriented gaze. <********..." he cursed.
"Alright... I don't UNDERSTAND people, I understand INFORMATION, and I -try- to get what people are thinking but YOU...god, you are just one left turn at the red-lights after another... I don't get YOU. You act like one of those god forsaken Chibi senshi half the time, you invade personal space because you think its FUNNY but then you want respect and... I don't even know what to DO with you other than to try and KEEP you from getting KILLED!!"

A huff and then a resounding clang -- probably loud enough to draw the attention of his landlady -- as Ever kicked his trashcan over with enough force to make it bounce off the ground and roll slowly, ringing, to settle against Zac's feet. It was a fit of frustration, Ever knew Zac would probably claim it was childish, and....and, well, it helped. All at once he was able to draw in a deep breath, crossing to his bag to root around for his book.
He opened it to the right page and dropped it next to Zac. His handwriting was unnaturally tidy, the work of years of rulers to the knuckles and totally incongruous with his outward appearance. It was also as detailed as he could manage, from the white safety armor to the caution-tape-tie to the cleats on the Senshi's shoes to eye color and even the bleached ends of his hair. He'd been thorough.

Zac resisted, barely, the urge to golf clap at the booted trash can. He took the book though with an irritated swipe and glanced at it, fully expecting to be... disappointed. He wasn't... he was down right impressed.
He traced a finger over the details soaking them in with rapped attention, Ever could have stripped down and danced in the nude without breaking his attention on that book.
Irritation had turned to a feverish delight when he glanced back at Ever.
"You're quite good at this..." two compliments in one night, well done Ever.

"I'm well trained." It was still bitter, Ever slowly dropping down onto the bed next to Zac, eyeing his bare toes and swiping at his face. At least he could do that now: the pain gone, the explosion every time he accidentally brushed his nose faded down to a dull ache, the pain in his ribs eased. He blew out a slow breath.
"I wanted to remember him." Calmer, now, sliding back toward himself. "So I looked at him properly, before Tony chased him off, and took down distinguishing characteristics. He had a lot of them, made it easy for me..."

"You could save lives with this kind of skill if you wanted...." He replied tapping the paper. "Everyone has a surprising number of distinguishing features, some in common with other's but for Senshi... it's a little easier."
He glanced down at the paper again.
"I'd like to ask Fayalite to help you with him...would you find that acceptable? You're both Lieutenants, it would help you both I think, if he's gone any further than Super though I want you to tell me... you'll want the rest of the team for an Eternal, possibly me as well."

"...that's fine." Ever eased back onto his elbows, slowly, stretching out to test just how healed he was. Better -- but hungry -- and kind of regretting his fit of annoyance, earlier. Tempers were worn thin, and if he were a better man, he might have apologized. But he wasn't. So he wouldn't.
"I just don't want you running off to...to 'handle' it for me." He shook his head, shooting a look sideways to Zac. Considering him. "I've dealt with problems before; bullies, homophobes, assholes. A lesser scale, but..."

"If I did that... I'd render you incapable of handling it yourself. I want a team not minions." He shrugged. "I don't like making excuses for people, and I don't much care for excuses...and yes I think reasons are different before you say that." He bristled as though that had been an argument he had before.
He paused listening to the gurgle growllll from Ever's stomach before remarking.
"... a**...", though it distinctly lacked any true malice. "You're living above the family that could and would feed all of Africa Linguini and Lasagna till they burst and you're -HUNGRY-?"

Ever made a noise at that, his eyes flashing onto the door, still lounging on the bed -- trying to decide if he wanted to get up to deal with it, or if he was too comfortable, now. He'd finally relaxed. If he went down stairs he'd have to fuss with the mother-henning and the 'you don't eat enough' and the 'what happened to your eye'...
"They gave me drugs, at the clinic. I took a few, they made me feel pretty sick." But he levered himself up, finally, with a huff of a sigh, to dig out the little orange bottle and toss it to Zac.

Zac caught it with the ease of someone who was more or less accustomed to people throwing things at him rather than someone who caught things to be good at it. It made it almost an unconscious gesture and a slightly fumbled one.
He twisted the bottle around to read it..."Morphine allergy?" He asked glancing up from the bottle and holding it out for Ever to take back. He was for a moment half distracted though, pondering if he should look into medicines as something to study but decided he had far better things to fill his time with, Psychology and emergency wound care were taking up a lot as was.
"My Mother has that too..." he still said 'Mother' like he was talking about a foreign dictator.

"Keep it, you know more people who might be able to use it." He shook his head a little and rooted around in his bag for socks, too. If Ever felt better, he sure as hell wasn't going to stay in this little room. If he was well enough to move about comfortably, he wanted to go out somewhere fun. If he wasn't taking drugs, he wanted to pour some alcohol into his system.
He found them and dropped down to sit, working on pulling them on. "It's a good thing to keep around, probably, if you know a lot of people who get injured..."
