I need people to make more characters so I can over analyze their combat abilities and develop strategies against them.
Its what I do in my free time. Thus far I have a strategy for fighting every character created in the RP.
Isn't that god-modding to a degree?
The commonly used term for such as called "Meta-Gaming" in short is basically means your character has knowledge he shouldn't knowledge of the "player" that the character won't know.
So a person reading a profile, is no problem. But using a specific method of fighting or dodging an attack they wouldn't have seen coming without the knowledge of reading the profile, is playing out of character as it relied on knowledge they wouldn't have.
Meta-Gaming.
It is within the same level as god modding and i certainly see what your saying. Having free time and uses it to develop strats is no issue, but the separation of character knowledge and player knowledge must be kept.
To prevent Meta-gaming, you must play in character. People have a hard time doing this, people think roleplay is simple, but when you get deep into it and to play your character to its fullest can be very hard.
Just remember, your character only knows as much as he has interacted with, as much as he has personally seen. Kinda gotta think of character in TV shows, where we as the audience knows exactly whats going on, and though things may appear "clear" to use, the character is the show may not understand whats going on.
