Samarei Sickly Psycho MrsBHavin Sweetypop MrsBHavin  you dont always have to title it right away if you wait, in time the book should tell you its name in some way. because if you name it,and the book doesnt agree with the name, then you thing wont go right if that makes any sense at all But I had it all planeed out already, I knew for sure I wanted to have a beginning symbol when I picked out the Chines one. But then I looked into the runes and couldn't decide. Besides, it's not the title of the book, it's just the first page. The thing is that I'm never gonna put an ending symbol, to show that it ill always be continued. if that is the case, well then you should sit inside the circle with you book and mediate so you both come to an agreement on what symbol you want . you cant make your mind up because you want one and your book wants another... so mediate and follow your inner voice... biggrin biggrin my husband says you should watch to see which one you see more in nature, because that is the one that is probably trying to comunicate with you for you to use it... biggrin

Thanks everyone! I looked into a little deeper, and found that the other symbol I was considering is also a fertility rune so I decided against that sweatdrop .I forget why, but I ended up deciding not to do a symbol at all, and just put the picture of the God and Goddess that I found that I liked and the Book Blessing. Thanks anyway though 3nodding .

Your Book of Shadows is not something I would recommend rushing into. If you do not yet know truly what you want in it, don't pressure yourself to find out. If you make a decision on the basis that you think you HAVE to, rather than a decision that you've taken your time on, it loses much of its meaning, and there's a greater chance that you'll regret it later. That's not to say that you can't change your BoS or rewrite it, but I see no reason to rush this decision.
A few questions:
What draws me to each symbol? Did you pick the rune simply because it's a rune, and runes are "magical"? Same with the Chinese character. Why are you considering each?
How much do you know about each? I wouldn't go putting something on the front page of my BoS until I knew about it. Even when you pick one, make sure you are knowledgeable on its many meanings. Runes, like many divinatory items, can have several meanings. And Chinese characters as well can mean different things depending on which characters it is used in conjunction with.
In the end, you must decide what you want and why you want it, but a little guidance helps.
Edit: Well then... go ahead and decide while I'm busy typing a reply. Still... I think it's helpful information for anyone.
