Sitaki squared her jaw. The words stung but the only outward sign that she showed was the almost imperceptible droop of her shoulders. She was mildly soothed by the fact that he was lying. Well, she thought he was lying. If he really had wanted her to leave he would've come at her with claws and teeth bared. If he were a real Ligi, he would have called out instead of sending Haji back to the jaw.
If he were a real Ligi, he would have killed her when they'd first met.
"You're hiding something," she growled at him, eyes narrowed. "And I'm not leaving. Not yet. After I figure out what's going on behind those pretty eyes of yours, Jabari, I might leave. If you're lucky. For right now," she said, stamping her paw down in the dirt, claws unsheathed. Her posture was just begging him to stop her, to thump her out of this plan. To prove her wrong.

He muttered something dark. "Fine," he said. "Do whatever you want, but I'm damn well taking back my bed," he said, heading back for the jaw.

"Fine," she called after him, baring her teeth at his retreating form. Only after he'd disappeared from sight did she allow herself to slump, to drop the facade.
There was something odd going on here, something secretive, and Sitaki had every intent on finding out what was going on.
