"By the Forest don't speak of such a thing so loudly," Dorian gasped, looking about at the City People as if just the mention of the plague would bring it down upon them. He quickly refocused on Myopia.
"It's a pleasure, Myopia! And you and I are of a like mind, hence the broken lamp. I suppose I could say experiments are a usual occurrence for me," Dorian added with a smile and an unfortunate look towards the broken glass on the ground. It had been rather excited though, what with the explosion and the bright light. He would definitely have to write about it in his journal and document the use of the chemical further. At the mention of plague, Dorian went still, immediately thinking of Garrett.
"By the Forest don't speak of such a thing so loudly," Dorian gasped, looking about at the City People as if just the mention of the plague would bring it down upon them. He quickly turned back to Myopia.
"I'll treat you both to supper then. That is as long as Nios wants to join as well. You do, right?" This was said to Nios and Dorian inclined his head shallowly to the other Child.

Nios shook the city person's hand solemnly. "It's nice to meet you."
He looked on curiously as Myopia and the Book Child began to discuss their interests in science-- meanwhile, he wondered if an opportunity would arise when he could ask the Book Child about his story. He was a little hurt that the Child looked so aghast at the mention of plagues, as if the disgust was directed towards Nios himself. Maybe if he knew more of the Child's story, there would be an explanation.
At the mention of supper, he remembered that he had been heading to the market when the bang had happened. It was pretty late, and his stomach was growling. "Yes, that would be wonderful," he beamed. "There's a cafe down the street with delicious stew and biscuits--" he called back, beginning to turn to point out the direction, then stopped short. "Unless you had somewhere in mind?" he asked abashedly.

"Oh, well, if you insist!" Myopia replied to Dorian's offer to treat, his script becoming slightly taller as though to accent his enthusiasm. Handshakes complete, he clasped his hands together. "Stew and biscuits sound alright. Very working-class, hm? Nothing like good hardy food to spur on scientific progress!"
He twirled around, with his brand tucked into the crook of his elbow. "This needs to be taken care of first, though, if you do not mind," the moth-man added. "I can't be leaving messes around like every teenager in the City. Let me put out the hazard markers on the sidewalk to keep our fellow citizens from injuring themselves, then at least start to clear up the remains."
Myopia then looked back to Nios. "Oh, that is if you have gleaned all of the science you can manage from these shards? Either way, the public should be warned of the hazard here, so you two can run along ahead to your supper while I get this taken care of!"
