"Your father is an admirable man." He said, nodding at the vixen. If only his father was like that. If only he wasn't so afraid of being like him. Sometimes he wanted to just give up, but he knew he shouldn't. He smiled at Aloli, scanning her. Oh, she was younger when he last saw her, yet even now he saw the kit that came over to him when he was alone and small.

What a kind vixen.

"I would like to meet this man one day, maybe learn from him." He mused, looking at Aloli in the eyes, smiling warmly at her. Oh, she was pretty, maybe even prettier than what he had remembered of her. Something in the back of his mind told him to stop, but he couldn't. He moved forward, brushing a strand of hair from her face before turning to the sky.

"Rain is coming in. Do you know where to go for shelter, Aloli?"

“He is if a bit weird. Aeolos says that Aloli gets a lot of traits from him, like reckless behavior a sense of adventure. Mmm talking in the third person and plotting ridiculous things, not to mention always trying to help others.” She stated with a laugh. She was okay with being like Father. It was fun and she didn’t have to worry about having a personality like Aeolos or heaven forbid a personality like Eshkol never knowing when a girl was going to hit him for his behavior. She looked over at rush and nibbled on her lower lip. She could still see that something was troubling him even if he was trying to hide it.

“Ah well its rather easy to meet dad. Aloli doesn’t know about learning from him. Dad is a bit mmm quixotic” Aloli said smiling weakly. He was even worse at her at times. He tended to get carried away with the wildest ideas ever. “but Aloli can introduce you one day if you want.” She stated rambling on and blushing a bit as the annoying strand of hair was dealt with.
“um… shelter… yes shelter… well the tribe sometimes uses a small cave system a bit south of here when they make runs to get supplies and stuff” Aloli pointed out. “Even though we aren’t part of the tribe I’m related to enough members that they shouldn’t mind if we use it for a while” she suggested forcibly clearing her mind from its currently glee phase.

Aloli was so cute. He could barely stop himself from hugging her, instead nodding with a smile at her. Shelter near her birth tribe? He wondered idly what his mother would think if he didn't return home for the night. She would be fine, he knew that she could trust him to be off for the night, he wasn't a kit anymore. He wanted to get Aloli to safety anyway, she stirred that desire in him that made him want to get her away from harm.

He glanced at the sky, looking back at her with interest. "Would you mind if we went there? Unless you rather I leave you be. Its going to storm, and I think shelter would be a good idea, and a good excuse to catch up." Of course, he didn't need an excuse personally, though maybe Aloli would.

It should be okay right? After all her dad wont want her freezing to death on her first night away from home and she had often gone their before. Well it if wasn’t she just wouldn’t ever do it again and apologize. She snuck another look at Rush and saw him smiling at her. Oh he had to stop doing that the butterflies in her stomach where going to plan an invasion. “Yep we can go there after all part of my journey was to find and catch up with you.” She stated.
Of course that’s when she realized that it had been awhile since she had been to said hide out. She could find it right. After a minute of nibbling her bottom lip she recalled the place only to stumble a bit. A wincing pain went through her left ankle. ‘must have been when I fell and the excitements been masking it’ she thought.

Rush smirked at her, tail flicking. She had come all the way over here for him? How sweet. How cute. His eyes caught her wince, suddenly moving close to her side, leaning onto her so she could use him to put her weight on him. He had seen that flicker of pain, he had noticed it.

"Aloli? Are you okay? Why did you wince?" He asked, worry evident in his voice. Did she need help?

Aloli blushed. Seriously it was nothing more than a hurt ankle. She had received a lot worse rough housing around with the boys. Well Aeolus in general. It made her a bit self conscious that she had let herself slip up and show she was hurt. It wasnt that big of a thing and now she had her special fox worried.
'special fox?' Aloli thought in her mind. Well it was true. She had always wanted to be a part of Rush's life as soon as he grew up and she was stuck as a kit. Over the years she had come to think of this as selfish and instead of trying to snag him for herself she had decided that she would stay his dear special friend and let him decide. so he might not yet be her sparkly grape prince but... he was definitely special.
However she was still a fox and she did lean on him for support. "ah its nothing I just took a little tumble is all. My ankle seemed to have bore the brunt of the fall. It'll be fine in a few. Its nothing really. I've gotten hurt worse playing with Aeolos.

Rush smiled at the vixen when she spoke, noting her blush once more, tail flicking around her to keep her steady and move her closer to the side. He flicked his ears when a single rain-drop fell on the tip of his ear, nose scrunching up before looking over at Aloli.

"Direct me to the shelter, Aloli?" He questioned, realizing that was more than a command than a question. "I mean, please." He whispered, forgetting just for a second that she was not family, that she would need different treatment.

Aloli had felt a couple of the drops but she was just fine in the rain. Since Caledonia was in a forest type area it rained more days out of the year than she would have wanted she mostly just ignored it. However the slight command from Rush had earned a raised eyebrow from her. “Alright then… Aye aye captain” she said in a weird voice making light of the whole thing.
“So how is the weather where you live?” she asked never hurt to venture into a bit of small talk and it helped her ignore her ankle. She was one of those foxes where it didn’t really hurt unless it was really really bad or you where consciously aware of it.

Rush smirked at her response, shaking his head as he helped her move forward. What was the weather like? He had been told that when he was born there was a bad storm, but, ever since then it had been rather moderate. He didn't really pay attention to the weather that much as a kit, either. The days had blended together, except when he met Aloli once in awhile. Hermes had played with him, and Anatola, but he had grown shortly after they had discovered that they were related.

"When I was born there was a storm, but, ever since its been rather calm and a little sunny. A few days ago we had a windy day that caused us to stay in a den because it knocked a few tree's down."

Faintly he wondered about his cousin Kithara's tribe. Maybe, he should visit? He hadn't met her before, she had been to busy with the tribe. Though he knew her parents were rocky with his mother.

“Calm and Sunny huh?” She pondered mostly to her self. “You are soo lucky. It’s almost always some sort of severe weather around here. When I was born it was the blizzard of the century and its either raining or snowing or extremely windy and its cold” she shivered a bit at the thought. The cold didn’t really bother her all that much except her father didn’t like it because it could bring snow and snow brought bad memories. “Although if you can get permission to go down to the waterfalls and beach its pretty nice. The trees tend to break most of the wind. Aloli does admit to a lot of sneaking out at nights” she said with a nervous smile.

She looked up and noticed they where getting closer to the cave, it kind of made her laugh inwardly in her head at the fact that here she was on her first night of freedom and all ready spending it with a boy. She didn’t think anything was going to happen but her father would still have a cow. Best not to tell him….. ever. In fact she was a bit scared of the day she brought home a mate. Sindre and Eshkol probably wouldn’t mind since they where always off doing their own thing but Aeolus often came back to check on her and she often talked with her father. They said she was grown up enough to make her own decisions but she still knew the trouble they would bring.

"Sneak?"

He laughed lightly, bringing her to the cave and setting her down beside the cave opening, entering the cave and using his tail to sweep the ground, sweeping all dirt out of the cave and turning to her, approaching her and lowering his body and pulling the vixen upwards, helping her into the cave and setting her down.

"Are you comfortable? I can happily get you something soft. Food. I can even bring water, though that sounds difficult." He mused, smiling at her. "Or anything else you may need?"
PostPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 12:29 am

“Ah yes… sneak” She answer with a grin. “You see its sort of forbidden to go down to the beach with out one of the hunters or my dad’s permission and its really not allowed to go at night by yourself. However that’s sort of the best time to go. So I would wait until everyone fell asleep and sneak out. However I am pretty sure Aeolos knew what I was doing, probably dad too.” She pondered out loud.

She laughed a bit at his behavior but it was a soft grateful laugh. It was sort of nice having some one want to care for her. Even though most of the time she wouldn’t allow it. “I’m okay really its only going to hurt for a bit more. We have all that in here if you know where to look for the hidden entrances… we even have a pond with glowing fish” she nodded. "However you could go get one of the herbs that numbs pain for a bit. Its over at the end of this room in the silver vein. If you touch the part where it branches off with your paw the room should open."

Rush nodded to Aloli, eying her a bit before turning. "I will be back very soon." He mused, smiling warmly at the girl before leaving the cave. Rain-drops hit his nose as he padded down the hill, tail flicking side to side. He had seen some of the foxes of Lunarie with herbs, and had learned about a few of them. In fact, being a Shaman interested him. He watched Nato several times and had grown a desire to heal as well.

Though he wanted to kill for those he loved.

This had always worried Rush, and sometimes he wondered if this trait had been passed from his Uncle Sin. He was calm and gentle, like his mother, but if someone he loved was harmed he would become a monster if he ever laid paws on the one that had harmed his loved one.

Truly, was he fit for a mate?

He noticed a familiar herb, yanking it from the ground and padding back to the cave. However, he was stopped as the rain poured heavily, and sky filled with thunder. Truly just his luck.

(long post is apparently longer than nasaiki thought sweatdrop )

“Alright well I guess I’ll be waiting here for you to return.” She stated watching as he left the cave. Probably a good choice because it was unlikely the herb room would have let him in. There was definitely something different about her child hood friend. It was a bit weird to see Rush all grown up and acting serious. All brave and a touch of something else she couldn’t name. It was a far cry from the small kit who was sad that he had no friends outside his family.

Now that he was out of sight she let the true pain she had been hiding on her face out. It wasn’t as if she had meant to down play her injuries it was just a trait Aloli had picked up from her father. Don’t show anyone other than you how hurt you really are. Suck it in and continue the day because you never know who is counting on you to be the strong one or the rock. A strong pretty and dashing young vixen who cared about the world and was full of energy taking on what ever was thrown at her; she was generally these things but every once in a while she was prone to bouts of emptiness? If that made any sense.

While passing the time and waiting for Rush she looked around the cave. Instantly taking in the small things like where the exits where. If she was trapped in the cave where could she get water and where the latches for the secret compartments, her memory wasn’t exactly photographic but she could generally remember what she saw to great detail. It was apparently good traits for a scout. Her dad was kind of like a scout yet different, so she guessed it was only natural she got some of the same traits.

Suddenly the storm outside got worse, or at least sounded like it. She wondered if Rush was okay and would it make him feel less if she went out to find him. She would give him the benefit of the doubt; he seemed stronger and didn’t invoke those same feelings of wanting to mmm take on the world in a sense. However she wasn’t some weak female to be sat and protected either. No Aloli was stubborn, a bit crazy and would take on what ever pilled on her because she could. Just try to let it bring her down. So before she tried anything silly she would wait for him to come back, like she had before.

Rush returned after a few minuets, dropping the herb before her, as well as a small rabbit. "I understand that you did not need food, but, just in case." His head turned to glance at where she had mentioned the small passage, heading to it. He turned to look at her, making sure she could see him.

"I was thinking earlier, you may have thought I was ignoring you when you mentioned the passage, but," He found the notch, pressing down so that the passage opened. Inside were the herbs she had spoken about, but withered and dried. "I found this passage when playing with my cousins one day. It was raining and we entered the cave and waited for our moms to get us, because we knew they would. Viola, who was visiting from Solarie to have a play-date while our moms caught up, found this passage by accident. But the herbs were already dead."
