"Because it won't be the same... you won't be just a wall away from me any more." The pink-haired grunt rubbed furiously at her eyes, trying to rid herself of her tears. She knew she was being stupid over the whole situation, but that didn't make this any less painful.
"Between your new work load, my studying, and then all the missions you'll be going away on... At least before this you were just right on the other side of some plaster and plywood."

Faleen didn't understand this, the sentiment of being separated by walls, but this was Kofuku she was talking to, her friend took comfort in thoughts like this.
Letting out a soft sigh, she tilted her head.
"It was going to happen inevitably Kofuku, either when you, or I were promoted."
She hesitated, leaning forward and placing her elbows onto her knees "Look, if it means that much to you I don't see any reason we can't work something out on our off days... or get some dinner after shifts."

"Do you really think you'll have time for me?" Kofuku searched her best friend's eyes, her lips trembling a little as another wave of tears threatened to break through. "You'll have so much work, and then there's the fact that you'll be getting a partner, right? Don't Agents have partners?"

Faleen wasn't at all upset about the fact that she was getting more work, especially since it was with something that she loved so dearly.
"I'm not saying that its going to be like it used to be Kofuku, but with that time we can get, I'm offering to work something out... are you going to be okay with that?"
The question about a partner took her a little by surprise, and it was clear with the look on her face.
"I haven't been assigned a partner, nor have i heard anything about being assigned a partner. So I don't know"

Her head nodded a little. "Ok." Was the only word she could get to come out of her mouth. 'Things wont be like it used to' the thought drifted around and around in her head, and her whole body, for a moment, shook. Things were never going to be the same.
"So you don't have anyone in mind yet for a partner then?" Her voice still cracked, but Kofuku was doing her damned best to not burst out into tears again. "Do you know who's moving in with your roomie?"

With a soft nod, Faleen turned back to the Umbreon, reaching out with both her hands and scratching under the pokemon's chin.
There was a long pause when Kofuku asked Faleen if she had anyone in mind. It hadn't really concerned Faleen, she always figured that if someone came around she worked well with she would ask, and if not, than whoever Team Rocket felt she was to work with, if she was assigned someone.
She would do what Team Rocket required of her.
Still she didn't answer, but her expression changed, giving a look as if she had just put something extremely bitter into her mouth.
In reality there had only been one person she had considered asking about partnership, and he was currently locked away in the brig.
It embarrassed her to even remind herself about that.

Kofuku said nothing, and it felt like the silence that filled the room was pressing on her. Finally, after a very uncomfortable moment of deafening silence, Kofuku looked over to Faleen. "So.... do you need help setting up your new room?"
