Kaia smiled appreciatively as Hiro offered to act like a normal cat. She hadn't been sure if that would have demeaned him in some way but honestly, she just didn't know how she could explain a talking cat to Khaldun on top of.. everything else. The boy struggled with understanding something that had been his entire life, let alone the things that Kaia had been dealing with, and she just didn't know if he'd take this.
"That would be infinitely easier than trying to explain what you actually are." She smiled as she chew another bite of her food, then swallowed it before she spoke again. "Besides, I'm not sure how much he would trust you. No offense. It's easier if you just appear to be some innocent little fuzzball."
She chewed up the last bits of her food and stood, walking over to the sink. As she was washing her bowl, she listened to him, and once she set it in the drain board she turned around to look at him.
"Today? Well, I need to restock on some of our medical supplies and I probably need to go to the store." She smiled at him and pushed herself off of the counter, walking back to him and giving him a soft stroke between his ears. "It's not going to be a particularly entertaining day, but tonight I plan to start looking for the BMC."

It wasn't so much that acting like a cat was demeaning - Hiro was a cat, and most of the things he did were cat things, apart from the talking and occasionally trying to show one of his trainees how to do a move. It was the being treated like a cat that wa often demeaning - the nicknames and baby talk, the indignified positions some humans tried to carry a cat in, kitty litter, cat wet food... As long as Kaia was still going to treat him with dignity, it should be tolerable. Hopefully her flatmate would either follow her example or just ignore Hiro entirely. Either way, he'd still have his senshi to treat him properly.
He shrugged easily, and polished off the last of his food. Kaia got up to wash her bowl and Hiro looked down at his and sighed. "I'd offer to be a good houseguest and wash mine, but..." It wasn't like he could lift the thing, let alone carry it over and rinse it off. Though of course that was the one thing that remained the same for himself and for normal Earth cats - humans to do the chores.
He managed to hold back his purrs as Kaia stroked between his ears, but he did lean into the caress and look very pleased with the attention.
"I'll keep you company," Hiro offered after hearing Kaia's plans for the day. "I don't care if it's boring." With the whole BMC debacle, Kaia shouldn't be on her own. Not just because the BMC might still be looking for her, but because Kaia shouldn't have company and reassurance at a time like this. Hiro didn't want to leave her side, if he could help it.

She smiled down at him for a long time in silence, stroking his ears and thinking about what he said. She didn't have many friends, at least not after she signed her soul over to the negaverse, and many of those friendships had odd footnotes attached to them. This was the first time anyone had done something for her simply because she needed them.
If she had any doubt about Hiro being her cat, it vanished in that moment.
"Thank you, Hiro," she said, softly, and then just picked up his bowl and walked to the sink. With her back to him he couldn't see the emotions that flashed over her face - opening herself up to one usually let all of them flood out. By the time she had finished washing his bowl and setting it in the sink as well, she had herself back under control.
"I need to find my keys and grab a coat, so you can just wait for me at the door, alright?" She started to walk past him towards the bedroom, then paused and turned back around. She walked back to him and leaned down to press a light kiss against the star on his forehead, light and fleeting, but a gesture of fondness all the same.
Then she just smiled that same appreciative smile and walked out of the kitchen.
