Cats were also demanding, bossy, standoff-ish and shed everywhere. And all humans should be insanely grateful to be chosen by a cat to be part of their staff and deal with all of the above.
But anyway, back to training. Hiro leapt to his feet, darting around behind Painite to see her strikes from several angles (he was nice enough to remain at least a metre away, no matter what position he took, so as not to trip Painite up). "Yes, good," he said while jumping about. "Fists up, don't forget your guard!"
He slowed to a trot, approaching closer as Painite finished. "Now, what are you trying to do on their face? Attack their jaw? Their nose? If you're aiming for maximum damage, your best bet is to take the heel of your hand and strike upwards at their nose." He demonstrated with one paw, no doubt looking a little ridiculous (or adorably cute, perhaps, to Painite's eyes). "Don't believe the movies, it won't actually kill anyone. But it will hurt, and can do more damage than a punch to the same area."
It was, unfortunately, also very hard to try and practice that move on a dummy with a horse's head. So Hiro didn't bother to suggest that Painite give it a try. Just something to remember for a real battle.

Painite nodded her head. Right, the nose. She had just aimed for the jaw, but the nose sounded better. She looked at her hand, opening her fingers to see her palm.
She looked at Hiro and tried very hard not to squee when he demonstrated the attack with his little kitty paw. With people it was threatening, with cats? Too adorable for words. She bit her lower lip and made a face, eyes wide, corners of her mouth trying to tug up in a grin as she fought it with all her might.
She nodded her head, clearing her throat and moving to look at Mr. Saddles. He calmed her, at least, since Mr. Saddles didn't find cats as adorable as she did, clearly. Someone should have asked him why he had such a long face. Painite would have laughed.
"I'll try that out the next time I have a nose to hit."
She stretched a bit, then sat down near the dummy. "I should probably get back home, I've got..." Well, she had work in the morning, but she supposed she shouldn't tell others that. Lest she get into the habit, then give a senshi a good hint about where she lived or worked or spent her free time.

"A normal life to live tomorrow, yes," Hiro finished for Painite. He didn't need to know details and certainly wouldn't prod for any. (Not to say he'd turn down the offer of information, either.) At least Painite was growing used to censoring herself about her two seperate identities.
"Not as exciting certainly, but the Negaverse doesn't exactly pay well. The health benefits leave a little to be desired, too." Life expectancy was certainly down, suddenly throwing people into a war and all. Ah well, as they said, all was fair in war and casualties were sometimes necessary evil.
Hiro would just have to do his best to make sure everyone was as prepared as they could be, in order to minimise the casualties as much as possible. He hoped the Negaverse could be as successful here in Destiny City as the branches in other continents had been - wipe out the senshi completely.
"Alright, you'd best be getting to bed," Hiro said, trotting over to sit next to Painite. "Sleep is important. So is breakfast - don't skip it, and make sure you eat something healthy -!"
The cat seemed to realise he was fussing and broke off. He gave a small cough. Nothing to see here. "Anyway. You did a good job tonight." As though he were royalty conveying an honour upon a commoner, he graciously offered, "You may have another scratch, if you like."
He proffered his head towards the closest hand.

Painite nodded her head. At least he understood. Though, considering he could talk, she shouldn't have been surprised. Of course, as far as she knew, he was just a kitty. So clearly he must have just watched someone else, another Nega perhaps, living both of their lives.
"You can say that again. Ah well, at least we get good medical." She chuckled at that, then shrugged her shoulders.
When he came closer she watched him, eyes bright and wide. She smiled at him, grinning ear to ear at his compliment. Kitty or not, she liked getting compliments, particularly from people who seemed to know what they were talking about. And he had proven that he did. Plus.
Kitty. It would take her a couple of run ins with him to get over that one.
"I usually remember to do all those things, don't worrry!" She laughed, moving to scratch his ear when he offered her the chance. She wasn't sure who was enjoying it more. Actually, she was pretty certain she was, but she didn't mind, scratching his ear and head, and even daring to scratch his chin, until she imagined he was tired of it. She then got up to gather her gizmos.
"Will I see you again? What's your name? Did I even introduce myself? Lieutenant Painite!"

"Good to meet you, Painite," Hiro said with a slight bob of his head. While he could have offered a paw, that just made him feel like a dog pulling tricks. 'Shake, good boy' - ugh, how demeaning. Just one of many reasons why cats were superior to all other animals out there. You didn't see any Guardian Dogs out there, did you? No. For very good reason.
"Masahiro," he introduced himself. Though he didn't mind if she needed to shorten it. It was better than being 'Mister Kitty' or somesuch.
He gave a kitty smirk when Painite asked if they'd meet again. His swished through the air lazily as he rose, prepared to be on his way. "I'll be around. I'm sure we'll run into each other at some point." He trotted a few steps away, paused and looked back over one shoulder. "If I see you training again, I'll drop in." To offer his unique brand of help, of course.

Painite grinned.
An enigmatic kitty, hmm? That made sense, as well. She liked him already, and waved as he bounced away. "I'll look forward to it, then!"
She had to get her things collected, then cart them back home. Only Mr. Saddles went into her subspace pocket, and she had to carry the rig and the weights back herself. That was no problem for most of the trip, though she usually powered down about half way home to avoid being followed any closer to where she actually lived.
Just in case.
And so she did, as always, thinking about Masahiro and their training session, sometimes moving her arm in a mock jab and almost dropping her gear. Once she was home, she put everything away (in its proper place on the floor near the door where she dropped it, of course), then went up to bed.
