The figure only shook his head as he missed again, wagging a finger at the boil with its other hand on its hip, as if pitying him - while it was a silent gesture, it was most definitely finding the boil's display a little pathetic. Throwing its arms out to the side, the purple glow surrounding both daggers dimmed a little as the figure tapped the blunt end of one of its dagger against his chest.
Was it giving him an opening out of pity?
HP: 11 Damage: 0 Ren pushed the bat against the ground, leaning onto it, as if to keep himself upright. Jackdammit, this was not how things were supposed to go. He was supposed to be finding Gabrian and the others, supposed to be figuring out where Jove was, supposed to not be here. Yet, here he was, with Jackdamned cloaked figure standing over him. It was just staring at him now - or at least, that's what Ren assumed, considering that the hood obscured any facial features, but it was facing in his direction.
Exhaling sharply, Ren lifted the bat again, wincing slightly at the pain that shot through his arm. Here goes nothing...
His swing was a little wobbly, and not as strong as he'd hoped, but he'd at least managed to catch the Jackdamned figure against his side.

As the bat hit, the figure moved with it, avoiding most of the damage - even at the initial hit, there were no cries of pain from it... It simply took it, silent as ever. Using its blade, it stabbed the boil briefly on the hand before moving back, putting some distance between them as he gave a silent yawn.
It was bored. So bored of this battle.

HP: 9 Damage: 1 This was growing exhausting. Ren let out a half strangled scream at the stab to his hand; it was the same one Tybalt had bitten into and it hurt like all hell. Flinching horribly at the needle sharp pains that were now reverberating against his mostly useless hand, Ren switched the bat to the other side, gripping it tightly with his fingers.
Please, he thought desperately, closing his eyes only briefly before he turned an angry glare back at the figure. Please, Jack, I have got to get out of here...
This time, with a frustrated screech, Ren leapt towards the cloaked figure and swung - as hard as he could. The bat connected with a satisfying thud against his opponent's side, the reverberations of Ren's FEAR sliding down the wood.
Ren's HP: 16 Damage: 4 [ HELL YES YOU CAN DO IT REN!! ]
[[ Also it said the "weapons" are imbued with faint hints of FEAR; Ren's FEAR is the tone of his voice; it can put someone to sleep or cause delusions, so I kinda figured it could make the bat reverberate. If this is wrong THEN JUST IGNORE THAT LAST PART >_>;; ]]

The thud was the only sound made from that attack, as the figure stay quiet as ever - did the attack even do anything to it? It was difficult to tell, as the figure started to move around, running in circles around the boil. Suddenly, it moved towards him and attacked him from behind, bringing both blades vertically down his back before putting some distance between them again. It then continued to sprint around the boil.

HP: 5 Damage: 3 The hitting from the back was low. Effective, certainly. But low.
A sharp gasp emitted from Ren's lips, feeling pain jolt up and down his spine as he fell forward, collapsing to his knees on the hard packed dirt. For a few seconds his vision wavered in and out, and he shook his head, attempting to dispel some of the dizziness. Wearily he staggered to his feet, wavering, and let out a war cry, trying once more to hit the Jackdamned creature with his bat.
He missed. Again. This was growing old. And tiring. So very tiring.

The figure kept moving, never stopping to even catch its breath. Seeing the boil down, it closed in, slashing him across his back before moving back again, observing what he would do next; perhaps he needs more pity openings. Heh.

HP: 5 Damage: 6 - AW SNAP >.< He was losing conscious now; black swam in his vision, but Ren shoved it away, squeezing his eyes shut as he was hit across his back for the second time. Staggering to his feet, his body aching, Ren gripped the bat in his uninjured hand.
No, his mind screamed. No, you can't lose it here, you haven't found the others yet -
He gave a lunge. A heavy swing, giving it everything he had. A last, desperate attempt to hit the Jackdamned creature and get it away from him.

The hit landed, but again, the figure made no visible reaction. Instead, without warning, the figure disengages and disappears back into the fog, dropping something shiny on the ground as it left... What was that all about?

HP: 0 LOOT: QUOTE, RP PICKING PENDENT UP AND POST MINIPET PROFILE <3 ...that was it? That was it? Ren stared after the figure, struck into a speechless silence as it disappeared into the fog once more. The Jackdamned thing had left him beaten, stabbed, cut, bruised (not to mention mentally scarred) and it seemed he hadn't even left a mark on him. That was...it was...
So very messed up. Ren reached a hand up, wiping the back of his good hand across his sweat dampened forehead. Something glinted a few feet away, something that the cloaked figure had dropped. Ren stepped towards it, hesitantly at first, then finally reached down, picking up what seemed to be...a pendant of sorts?
...he was not entirely sure this was a good thing. No, in fact, he was certain it was a very, very bad thing.
Too bad he was too exhausted and too much in pain to care right at the moment.

After Ren had been whisked away by another of the cloaked figures, Tybalt had spent his time trying to find him again. Why? For the usual 'I told you so!' There was no way Ren was getting out of this one! Seriously! Moments after he had said he wouldn't be attacked---he was! It was like karma or something! Hilarious! If only he could find him now...
Luckily, after searching a while, he found him. Bloodied, tired and looking down right miserable.
Pffft!
Laughing. He was laughing. Rather than feel concerned for him, he was laughing!
"Oh jeez! Look at you!" He snickered, leaning gingerly on particularly clumped spot of corn stalks. This had made his day. "And I thought gryphon's were supposed to be big and tough! Suddenly my battle doesn't look so bad!"

He was sitting on the ground when Tybalt found him again. Sitting, cradling his now useless right hand in his lap, trying to figure out just what he could use to bandage it up, Ren cast a weary glance up at the boil.
...which rapidly turned into a full blown scowl because the cad was laughing at him.
Laughing. At him.
"Thanks so much for your support, you shrunken schnauzer," Ren said sarcastically, pushing himself slowly to his feet and wincing. Oh jeez, the pain. His head was spinning. Time to get out of here. Go and find the others.
Get the Jackdamned hell away from Tybalt.
Brushing past the black dog, Ren started to walk away. Then he turned, walked back, and kicked him hard in the shins.
"And I thought dogs were supposed to beg on all fours," he said cheerfully before disappearing off into the cornfield once more.
