Apparently telling the creeper she did know how to use her table leg had proven faulty. She missed and stumbled out of range (or as out of range as one can get). The missed hit made her less confident and upped her fear. The she-wolf raised her weapon in preparation for another attack only to blink stupidly as the figure was right there. She tried to dodge it, but the sting of the creeper's hit against her arm made her yelp and scramble away. It seemed like this was more difficult than it should have been. And she felt tired.

In panting breaths, heart fluttering, she clutched her weapon in a desperate grip and hoped she scored a hit this time.

It seemed that the puppy had a burst attack and now could not perform. The hooded figure would observe this for a moment before it once again moved to attack LW. It was silent, the only sound coming from the light shuffle of the contact the soles of their feet had when touching the ground. It was coming for you LW and it hit again. The weapon caused the same sensation as it did at the previous hit.

Ok now she was panicking a little. That was two attacks she had missed. TWO! And now she wasn't so sure she could fight this creeper. A growl escaped between clenched teeth as she twisted again and tried to avoid the attack coming her way, only to find the creeper was much closer than she thought. It had moved so silently! But that heavy tired feeling slowed her down. And once again she felt a stinging pain against her shoulder this time. Since she was still close to the creature, as it had just attacked her, the she-wolf gripped her weapon and swung. Let it hit, please! She chanted to herself.

The hooded figure took another hit from the puppy, a rather blunt hit to the torso. It didn't gasp, which was surprising and merely took a small step back. Perhaps it enjoyed the pain? Was it really that kind of creeper? Considering its silence, it wasn't like someone could ask. After a moment it once again it pounced at LW with weapons first.

OMG IT HIT! LW felt a surge of renewed courage when her weapon hit. Not that it really seemed to phase the creeper. But she wouldn't let that put her down. Nope. She could still fight and score hits. That was important. And the silence and creepy vibes she got off it were not helping her over-fried nerves one bit. And....it was pouncing towards her, CANDLEJACK! With one of those infamous squeaks, she jumped and rolled out of the way, cursing when the stinging pounded in her arm and shoulder. LW was personally surprised that her heart had not beat out of her chest yet. Wheeling around and trying to keep the panic at bay, LW lunged and swung her wooden table leg.

Table legs. Who would have guessed. Either way, it seemed all dogs have their day and today was the puppy's because without warning the figure disengages and disappears back into the fog! What was that all about? In the process of leaving, it seemed to have dropped mysterious and shiny pendant from its pants. Maybe there was a hole. It should get it fixed.

LW was breathing hard and felt her arms and legs shaking once again. She still clutched her weapon in a death grip but her violet gaze was locked on the flaming creeper. Or more specifically where said creeper had just...disappeared from. She spun around, looking all over and expecting a sneak attack. But nothing. Then something caught her eye. What...was that? Walking towards it, slowly and still terrified something was going to jump out and get her, LW approached what was on the ground. Cautiously, she reached down to pick it up. What...the Jack?

Alessa couldn't help it. The moment Tset offered, she was grabbing at the nearest stalk and taking an ear and peeling off its protective green pieces. It didn't take her long to sink her teeth into the soft, yellow bits. As the others conversed she made her way through half the cob before she paused, addressing their complaining, "Oh please, vegetables aren't going to hurt you. Besides, corn isn't even a very good vegetable...well, it's not typical anyway, so it shouldn't be a big deal." It was funny, the more she ate the hungrier she realized she was. She was about to take another ear when she froze, looking at Gabe, startled.

"Leave? Are you thick in the head? That's stupid-" But then he was gone. "Gabe!" She yelled after him, clearly furious. She clicked her tongue and ruffled her hair in frustration. Jack damn him! Wasn't he supposed to be the logical one? Separating was never a good idea. She grumbled harshly under her breath, muttering insults and bits like 'we could have all gone, idiot'. It was funny how, tired as she was, she was able to muster to much energy to be so annoyed.

It wasn't meant to last, though. Suddenly a figure appeared and went right for the distraught LW. Alessa tried to look for a way to help, but instead she found herself dodging away from the two of them as they attacked. She ended up falling back into the stalks for corn and it took her a bit to wrestle herself back up. By then the fight was over. LW still looked like she was on high alert. Carefully, Alessa drew near her, "LW...are you okay...?" She reached out with both arms to hug the other ghoul. "Jack damn it, I hate these trips..."

"I don't trust those pendants," Gabrian's voice came from within the corn field, and after a final push, he stumbled out into the main pathway where he'd left the ghouls. To his credit, he stumbled out just a few meters from the place he'd stumbled in, which meant his sense of direction wasn't all that bad, "I also get the impression this island not only makes you mad, but sort of screws around with your senses," a pause as he raised a hand and tapped his chin thoughtfully, "Or maybe it screws with yours sense because it makes you mad? I'm not entirely certain. Either way, that does not bode well," that said, he turned away from Carry, letting go of her wrist now that they were back on the path together. He figured that the risk of getting lost was much more minor if they were all out here together; after all, while it was true the wailing could still be heard... the fog was nowhere near as thick as it had been down on the beach.

He cupped his hands around his mouth before taking in a long breath, "LW! Look who I found!" he then paused and took a moment to survey his surroundings, seemingly finally taking note of the fact they... looked a bit like a battleground. Instantly the nix paled slightly, "What on Halloween Town happened here?" this was whispered as his gaze traveled from Tsetliya to Alessa and then back to LW. Had they been attacked while he'd been away? His gaze then fell on the pendant that the she wolf had, and the demon stiffened, "LW, do you recognize that thing? It looks like that thing that sent us to the human world, I'm quite sure!"

"I swear to all that's unholy, if I ever want to go on a ship for any reason, someone needs to smack me."

Carthusia finally cleared the cornfield and spat out some of the leaves and dirt that had gotten on her face, plucking some more of the crud out of her hair. Sighing, she stretched her wings. Thank Jack they were out in the open again where they could at least see something in front of them. Carry turned about to see LW, Tset and the bunny she'd seen before they got the field trip underway. Stepping forward, she saw the same battleground Gabe did, and without a moment's notice, Pride had pounced on the werewolf. "Did they get you too? Oh Jack you picked up a pendant too. Who knows what this might do to people but... you're okay! Nobody else got taken? Have you guys seen Livius?"

Pride was a tangle of hair, sweat, happy tears and relieve. Anyone who was nearby would notice her rather... strong odor, the result of being held captive by those people who took her earlier on the beach. She desperately sought a shower. "Have you guys seen any water around here? I need to bathe..."

((I have permission to invade! X3))

Corn, corn and yes, obviously, corn. Not that he had any issues with it really, he liked the eat the stuff. And thankfully, so far, all he had seen were miles of cornstalks. The fog here wasn't as bad as at the beach, something he was grateful for, as he still didn't quite understanding what was going on. All he knew was that he needed to find people he knew, Amrita, Gabe and Carry. Not in that order, as Carry was first (naturally) but he was worried about them all. Odd sort of thing for him to think about, but a lot of things had changed for demon ever since he entered the school grounds.

He had traveled the main path for a bit, but wasn't truly seeing anything or anyone at first. A thought occurred to maybe shout out but if there were also enemies about, shouting was most likely a very illogical idea, right? Yes, let's shout to all those that could possibly do harm that a lone person was wandering the main pathway. Genius, Livius, simply brilliant. Hefting his bag over his shoulder a bit to make it more comfortable, he looked up, hoping to see people somewhere. "They couldn't have all gotten lost, could they?" Where was Carry... ugh, he hated these trips! He wanted to go home! >< But as he continued up, it wasn't hard to not hear him, he was practically stomping his way along the path, the only way he could think of to vent his frustrations that wouldn't resort to shouting.

The she-wolf jumped slightly when Alessa approached her but instantly took comfort from the familiarity of her friend. "I...I think I am." She mumbled, looking at her arm. "It stings. But that is about it." The she-wolf leaned into the hug and sighed heavily. "Stupid...flaming...creeper." At least the other two ghouls were alright.

Still being on semi-high alert, LW heard voices. Just what she needed to hear. For a minute, her heart lurched into her throat and she thought it was more of those cloaked figures. But she recognized that voice. And it was coming from the corn stalks. Violet eyes scanned them, looking for that familiar tall frame, needing to see it with her own two eyes he was really alright. And...was he speaking to someone else? She wasn't hallucinating or anything, right? RIGHT?! So focused on not freaking out again and watching for her boilfriend, LW seemed to blink and there he was. It was so sudden (at least to her) and in fairness, her nerves were already running in overdrive, LW squealed and pushed back, trying to get away. Except Alessa had been hugging her. The she-wolf tripped over their feet and went down to the ground.

And then her second surprise. Another demon walked out of the corn stalks and LW just stared. Her mind couldn't comprehend it. This was real right? She hadn't been killed off by that creeper and was in a dream? "G-Gabrian? C-Carry?" Still staring stupidly as her mind worked to figure this all out, she was pounced by the demoness. That seemed to knock her out of the slightly dazed and terrified state.

"I-I...no! Wait, who? What? I-I'm so confused. Pendant. Livi." Oh this was too much! And what for Jack's sake was that smell?! Was it...coming from Carry? She sniffed hesitantly while the demon kept speaking. Of everything, even Gabrian standing there speaking, it was the strong scent that sobered her. "Carry! What in Jack's name is that smell?!" Gently and firmly shoving at Pride, she scrambled out of her hold and stood up, bumping into the nix. His words finally penetrated through her terrified stupor.

"Yes. Yes I recognize it." Her gaze glanced at her arm and shoulder, shivering. "And before you say anything, I did not get into trouble. It found me." She tried to give him a look, but it utterly failed and the she-wolf twisted and clung. "Don't you dare leave us again!" This was half growled half whined.

Alessa sighed, keeping her hold on LW for the time being. She gave her hair a few strokes, muttering apologetically, "Sorry I wasn't any help." Sometimes she felt like that was the story of her life. At least she hadn't gotten in the way, she supposed. She glanced at LW's arm, wishing she had some bandages or something...Oh! "LW, why don't you take my arm warmer and put it on so you don't get dirt in-" She squeaked as suddenly she was thrown to the ground with LW, who had...tripped in some way. When she sat up enough to see what was going on, she noticed that Gabe, a demoness, and Livi had appeared.

Suddenly irked again, because she hadn't really ever stopped being angry, she'd just been focused on LW, she picked up a piece of fallen corn as she stood. After she brushed the dirt from her skirt, very deliberately, she chucked the corn at Gabe. "You jerk! You didn't have to leave us! Since when is splitting up a good idea? We could have all gone, it wasn't that hard! I can't believe you-!"

She huffed, folding her arms and trying to pass the other two newcomers a smile. It came out a little strained, because she was still sneaking glares at Gabe. "Glad to see you two are alright, Livi and...sorry, I don't think we've met. I'm Alessa."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 5:18 pm

"The ship wasn't the problem, as far as I'm concerned. It was the fact the trip was poorly planned, in my opinion; boats are fantastic though, as is the ocean, but then, I'm a little bit bia-" he cut himself off as Alessa picked up one of the fallen corns on the ground and chucked it in his general direction; he was just lucky that she had poor aim and that the fog probably made it hard to really hit anyone more precisely, because he managed to duck his head just in time for the projectile to fly past him, "-sed," came the end of his previous sentense before he turned to aim a sullen, almost irritated glare in the nagual's direction, "You need to go to go get that checked out, Alessa. It's not healthy or normal to react violently when you find out a friend is safe. Also pretty stupid; what if you'd hurt me?" he brushed his pant legs off with his sword and walked nearer, all the time keeping his gaze fixed on the rabbit, just in case she decided to resume her volatile behavior, "Besides... walking through the cornfield together would have been disastrous. Just two of us walking through it together was near impossible. Don't be ridiculous; it might've not been the best idea for me to go alone, but it was the only real option we had. It would have only worked if one of us had gone alone and... I'd rather put myself at risk than send any of you," why yes, he cared. Jack damnit, but he cared.

Unfortunately... Carry's words dragged his attention away and he frowned, "I haven't seen Livi yet. Which is a shame. We could use more rational people in the group," at this point he offered the nagual a pointed look. Before he could continue though, LW leave Pride's side and latched onto him. Instinctively, the nix's hand rose up and he ran his fingers through her hair, "Trouble always finds you, Puppy. You're like a magnet for it," he let out a sigh, but the smile that lingered his lips seemed to indicate he was far from angry at her, "Were you hurt?" he paused slightly and motioned towards Carry, "She has a rather interesting story to tell, actually. And needs a bath," he offered the Pride demoness a smile, though it was slightly sad, "Unfortunately, I don't scent any water nearby, love. You might have to make due with those clothes, and the stench, for a while style still, no doubt."

He was still running his fingers through the werewolf's hair when she half growled, half whined for him never to leave them again. At first, he could only managed to look at the top of her head, but then he let out a sigh, "I can't promise that, LW. I don't... really understand what's going on with this island, but I get the impression it's toying with us. This fog is strange, and I'm willing to bet that if it want to, it could separate us. So instead of that... let's just promise to return home all together in one piece, safe and sound," his eyes narrowed then, "And sane."

Pride slowly climbed off of the poor werewolf, who now no doubt stunk like Carry herself did. Oops. She felt a pang of guilt but it was overridden quickly by the fact that everyone else was safe. She tried to brush herself off as much as possible, hoping the dirt would mask some of the aroma she happened to be carrying around with her. But... Livi? Where was Livi? Carthusia looked off in the distance and saw the familiar shade of green she knew and loved, and sighed with relief when he drew near. The demoness gave him a grateful hug and looked up into his face. "Oh thank Jack you're okay, Livi. I was combing the beach forever looking for you! For a while, I thought maybe you didn't get on the boat after all or something but... I got dragged away before I could do anything else."

The demoness raked another hand through her hair and shook her head. Gabrian gave her a good introduction so she could give them the information they were probably after. "I don't know how many of you saw that I was kidnapped but... I don't know where they took me. When I woke up, I was already there. No landmarks, no windows, no nothing." she started, walking to the center of the group with her hands on her hips. The stench of rotting and death still clung to her, but the time outside was definitely helping to ease their noses. "They kept saying I was a traitor, why did I betray them, why did I play bait and lead the Bad People to the secret? I had no idea what they were talking about. They had one of the pendants, like LW has now." For emphasis (as if it was needed), Carthusia pointed to the werewolf and the necklace she no doubt had.

"There were two of them - the large one that grabbed me and a smaller one named Pesty. I was in this tiny shack of a place - no windows, no nothing - full to the brim with maggots and rotting flesh. They said the island makes you go crazy..." She gestured to the fog and the island as a whole, making sweeping motions with her hands. "They threatened to chop me into pieces, but I kept telling them I didn't know what they were talking about because I don't." Carthusia looked exhausted mentally and physically. She'd tried her damnedest to get some information from the cloaked figures, but she was left with little. "I played along with them, pretended like I knew, but then Pesty got mad. She decked both of us and then the big one said they'll be watching and they pushed me out. I just stumbled upon Gabe by sheer luck."

She shook her head again. "I don't know if you'll believe me, but I don't have any memory of before I enrolled at Amityville. Just a huge blank spot, and I've been trying to remember for months, but I haven't gotten anywhere..."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 7:37 pm

She smiled at the rabbit. "I...maybe that is a good idea. And sorry." They were currently sprawled on the ground, both sitting back up. "But I would be afraid of getting blood on it. Or getting it ripped." The she-wolf sighed and got back to her feet.

LW blamed the fact she had just recently been in a battle. She didn't see Alessa reach down for the corn, but she saw something come hurling through the air and the she-wolf reacted on instinct. She ducked down into a crouch, tail thrashing and eyes flashing. And then half a corn went sailing at Gabrian and LW blinked, confused as to where it had come from. She didn't have to look to figure out who had thrown it though. Alessa's angry voice answered that for her. "Alessa..." It was sighed, though the she-wolf had to admit she'd been feeling something similar. And of course Gabe responded. Nothing rash, but he had to comment on it, except his words made the she-wolf tilt her head and stare at him. It was probably because she was actually paying attention. A small smile tugged at her lips. Faintly she wondered if Alessa would hear it too. That he did care.

"But it's not my fault!" She leaned her head against him for a minute...or several, while he stroked her hair. It really did calm her to receive such a gesture. Probably because she was a canine. "What?" LW looked up at him and a guilty glint entered her eyes. "N-not too terribly bad. Just a cut on my arm. A-And shoulder."

Looking back towards Carry, she eyed the demoness. Poor Carry. She really did smell. And...was it clinging to the she-wolf now? Ewww! LW frowned down at herself. "I'd like to hear this story. But we really should do something about that stench too." She let her hands curl against the nix as he continued to let his fingers run through her hair. LW's eyes widened as she listened as Carry explain what had happened when she was taken. Waitaminute. Was that...Livi?! When had Livi appeared? "The pendants?" LW moved a hand and looked at the pendant wrapped around her wrist. "They threatened to do what to you?" The she-wolf stared and felt a small serge of anger. How dare they threaten to chop up her friend! "I believe you." LW stated in a strong voice, daring the others to disagree. Not that she made any attempt to move from where she was.

"I know." She said softly in response to Gabe. "I just...don't want to loose any of you guys." It would break her. She was still upset that Ren was missing. And it had done her no good watching Gabe leave before. AND THEN she'd been attacked in a moment of weakness. LW was having a hard time with that. "Just..." The she-wolf shook her head. "That is good enough for me."

"Oh please, if that had hurt you, you'd have more problems than I thought," Alessa scoffed. Clearly she had no sympathy for him, because her anger was burning long and hard as was typical of her stubbornness. Especially when she believed she was right. "All you're sounding like is a typical boil, thinking you have to do every Jack damn thing yourself. If you go off on your own and something happens to you, what then? If we stay together, we can help each other, which is more productive than selfishly protecting everyone. Because it is selfish, you know. We're first years, what do you really think we can do on our own? We need each other. So no more separating on purpose." Every word she said with conviction, but it was calm, like one of those coal fires that burned underground. She certainly knew how to chatter on when she was angry...or scared. Honestly it was probably a bit of both right now, but fury was easier to show. If anyone wanted to go off on their own again, well, lets just say they'd probably have a very unhappy rabbit chasing at their heels to either bring them back, or at least make sure they weren't going on a solo suicide mission.

She turned away from Gabe, huffing again, clearly not wanting to say anything more to him for the time being. Instead she focused her attention on Carry, who spoke of the ordeal she had gone through. She was honestly surprised by the tale, mainly because she hadn't realized any of the students had been kidnapped. This caused a worried crease to form in her brow and she clenched her jaw into a rim line to keep it from trembling. When she was finished Alessa murmured, "I've certainly heard and seen stranger things." That was her vote of confidence, anyway. "We should find some water for you, but...we need to decide what we're doing first. We need a goal. Anything is better than aimless wandering. It's not as if we can't change it if we get new information." As she spoke she removed her arm warmer. At first it just looked like a methodical motion to distract herself, but once it was off she handed it to LW so she could cover her wound. She didn't seem to care what state it'd be in later.
