Nimbus blinked, stutteringly, understanding that, of course, Aislin was every bit as out of her element as he was. So he frowned and looked at his paws, felt his blood settle a bit and the breeze-in-trees sounds, the familiar birdcalls. This was manageable, as long as he stayed away from the ocean.
But then he thought of it again and his heart lurched; he would never calm down, he was just going to have to plunge in and tell her something. "I don't know what just happened," he prefaced gravely. "I...felt something. I felt something, with every ounce of myself." He was looking forward, not at her, his face passing back and forth between worry and a grave somberness, as he alternately struggled and succeeded at explaining this visitation. "Something manifested in front of me, this...white ball, like a little sun - like a star. And it just...I dunno, imposed itself?" He grimaced. "It kept bearing down on me, and there was all this light and sound and pressure, and I thought I was going to die, and then it left." He bit his lips, slightly fretful that his explanation had only done so much to clarify the experience.

She closed her eyes, trying to imagine all of this as he explained it. She yearned, desperately, to make sense of it. Her brow furrowed and her ears folded back and she threw herself head-long into it, and her vision in her mind was so bold, so clear, that for a moment she almost felt she'd seen it all for herself.
"...Did it talk to you?" she said, tentatively, trying to make sense of what he had seen and what she now felt as though she had seen, also. The image in her mind couldn't possibly be the image in his, but she thought perhaps it could be, and that idea fascinated her and titillated her.

His brow furrowed further still, and he wormed his way through the memory. "It...might have. Not in a language I know." He thought on the star trying to communicate with him, and the thought made him grow cold, made his stomach turn. The corners of his mouth pulled taut as he fought back tears. Unaware of how thoroughly he had contradicted himself in the space of a day, he whispered miserably to his friend, "I don't want that to ever happen again." His eyes were full, his face both taut and slack, the look of shellshock. He had asked for something more and received altogether too much, and what to do about it?

She nudged against him. The image in her head was beautiful and awe-inspiring and brilliant, but she imagined that it must have been more terrible than that. Then again, she was quickly beginning to realize that for Nimbus, everything was terrible.
"Let's get you home," she said, and nudged him again before withdrawing, shifting a bit nervously from paw to paw. She didn't have much else to say.
Selfishly, she kind of hoped he would have another vision. And she didn't even know why.
