Barth just smiled back at Riley.

"No shifting?" Barth repeated, mistaking Calder's meaning. "I'll err. Try not to move around too much."

Riley's flashlight came on. It was easy to see, even in the fog. ...Then, a second beam of light. He was worried about where this was going.

"...What's the note say?" He asked Riley. "Not sure if it's wise to keep flashlight on, we might attract, err, attention... Unless err, that was your plan."

As expected, the ghoul sat down and began to unpack her bag as well. Granted, it was an unconventional way of packing, but she was being productive nonetheless. Riley had no answer for Savior's confusion with her flashlight, but she kept her own on when she heard Barth's voice. She turned the flashlight directly into his face, and her expression turned sour.

Let them come. She challenged. Riley wasn't TRYING to be stealthy, you see. Riley WANTED a fight. Riley WANTED to rip something to shreds, right about now. Riley wanted many things, but more than anything, Riley wanted to eat.

The note says - MALODORE! The note says Malodore, what?! In fact, the note did not say Malodore, but she had heard it's voice the moment it called her name out, and the note/flashlight/bag/possibly Savior were all pushed to the side as she lurched up to her feet. She wasted no time in hurrying to meet it, and once she had reached it she wrapped her arms around it's shoulders and collected it into her embrace. Her eyes closed helplessly, and she sighed in her content. Finally, FINALLY she felt like herself again. Except..

Oh, Jack, you smell so good. Her voice was low, almost growled, but still quite emotional. When her eyes opened again, they were red. She only held Malodore closer.

Oof! Malodore stumbled backwards slightly at the impact of Riley's embrace, but it clung to her as well, at least a little bit (and it was only partially to keep its balance, really, honest). "I'm glad you're sa-" it began, then stopped as she opened her eyes again.

... Merde.

"You. Need to eat," it said, turning its head so it could look past her... at other students. At people it was fairly sure she shouldn't eat, or at least people it thought she'd be sorry to eat. Except maybe Calder, but Malodore would be sorry for that one...

"Fish. Fish have brains," it blurted. "We need to fish. All of us need to fish. Now."

Red eyes... Christof knew what those Red Eyes meant, even if not in it's entirety. He was relieved when Malodore showed up, excited even that it was alright and here to help keep an eye on his Mistress, but at the tight embrace and expression on the mind-flayer's nearly featureless face made the Igor step forward, making as much eye contact with the Plague Doctor as he could before timidly reaching to take a hold of Riley's shoulder in an attempt to pull her off of it.

His Mistress was hungry? They were getting further away from the beach now where they had stopped, he'd have to run back to the water, and he had nothing to fish with. He wished he had had some of that delicious Hell-O that had not been made from her tentacles, apparently, to give her at least, but alas.

Thank Fear Calder was there to babysit Barth, or he would have felt a bit overwhelmed, honestly. He'd have to properly thank him later.

Malodore's reaction wasn't exactly what she'd been expecting - but then again, she realized she hadn't really been expecting anything at the moment. She hadn't really been thinking at all.. and it's words snapped her out of that trance quickly. She shook her head, and closed her eyes. Her hand briefly touched her face, rubbing her eyelids for a moment. When she re-opened them, they were a bright white. She started shaking her head fiercely.

What? No! No. No.. I'm fine. Don't. Please, I was so worried.. Her hands clung to it's shoulders desperately. I didn't know what had happened to your boat. I was- I just- I'm fine.

She turned around and put her hand up in an assuring motion to the rest of the group. No one needs to fish. I'm fine. She was certainly trying to assure someone of that fact, if not herself. She didn't need anyone else trying to take care of her. She could handle this.. she could handle herself. She brushed away Christof's hold, her brow furrowing in a sad expression when she looked at him.

Really. Stop worrying. Let's focus on what we need to do here. There's a note in our bags. Someone read it.

She refused to let go of Malodore, at whatever cost. Her expression, however, was wrought with guilt.

"It crashed... as I assume the rest of yours did. There was quite a collection of flotsam in the water," Malodore said, meeting Christof's gaze over Riley's head. It nodded just once to the patchwork, trying to signal that it was okay... for now, at least.

Though it did relax a bit as her eyes turned white again. "You still need to eat," it said, and though its rigid beak didn't allow it to frown it sounded as if it were. "Soon." It squeezed Riley in what it hoped was a comforting gesture, then glanced over the rest of the group.

"Is everyone doing well? No real damage?" It hesitated on the odd orange-skinned girl it didn't recognize. Were those burn scars on her face? They looked older than the sea voyage alone would allow, though.

Jericho really had no idea where they all had crash landed. So far, he hadn't been able to see any of the faculty around, which struck him as a bit odd. In any case, he wanted a better idea of what this place was. Lizzy's words about the potential revenge against the reaper had him both concerned and fired up about this place. If this was the case, the dragon knew they all had a disadvantage of not knowing the the lay of the land. If they could get a little bit of that, then maybe they wouldn't be in as much danger.

This trip didn't set too well with him in general though.

As he walked on, the dragon heard the Plague doctor say something of fishing. Furrowing his brow a bit at that, he quickened his pace to go see what was up. That pace became a little faster as he heard Riley's voice mixed in as well.

"VOOOIIIIIIIII!!" he shouted out as he saw them in the distance. There were others in this group as well... including Savior and Calder. He wasn't really sure what to feel about that. For the most part, it seemed like everyone was unharmed.

The hunchback took his hand away, still looking worried as he quietly gestured to the plague doctor from his chest towards the trees and beach beyond, silently asking if he aught to go hunting for SOMETHING to take the edge off of her... she was NOT alright as she had told him, she had LIED to him, and that worried him further. But Malodore knew best.

Barth's previous comment on the lights made him hesitate as well as it sank in, glancing down at the packs in his arms before setting them down while it seemed they would be resting for a few minutes, ready to look inside...

At the sudden shout, Christof dropped everything but his weapon immediately leaped to position himself between their group of travelers and the offending shriek, bearing his rusty pipe like a ready club. His eyes narrowed, frantically looking about to see what he could spot.

A touch of the guilt that had swelled through Riley when she made Malodore think, even for a second, that she was dangerous, ebbed away when it squeezed her. She had no idea how much she'd missed this. It almost hurt to think of. Sadly, Malodore was right (as usual) about her current state. She did need to eat.. but she was planning on it. Honest. It didn't involve leading this group up the mountain into a secluded location at all. Scout's Honor.

She pulled away just slightly, as she was just about to ask if Jericho was all right, but she didn't need to. She heard that boisterous yell coming from the camp site, and reluctantly disentangled herself from Malodore's arms. Now that her fear of loss was gone, but her hunger remained, she felt giddy and lightheaded. Her eyes crescented and shone brightly at Jericho's arrival, and she was quick to run into his arms as well.

Then, she leaned back and slapped his chest. How DARE the two of you scare me like you did. I didn't set you both up with eyePhones just so you wouldn't keep me updated on your well being. I was worried sick. Her tentacles were creeping up around him, and they prodded gently at his head. She suddenly seemed a little distracted. My, I never noticed what a large head you have, Jericho.

After he had shouted out, Jericho was making his way closer still.

"Calm down Christof. I'm not here to incinerate you," he said to the hunchback as he saw the guy practically go up in arms, ready for a fight. His attention didn't stay on the igor for long though, as he saw Riley approach him. She didn't seem too happy, though he couldn't blame her. He was pretty worried for her sake as well.

"Sorry about that. With the boat going done, I didn't really have time to send texts," he said with a grin, giving her a hug once she was close enough. That grin faded some as the mindflayer seemed to be quite distracted. The way she was poking his head was a little strange.

"Is that good or bad?" he asked with a raised brow, "Are you feeling alright Riley? You seem kind of ... off."

Israfel was a siren. A very bird like monster. Being bird like he had certain..tendencies. such as playing follow the leader. And with someone like Riley, those instincts came out quite often. Hopping and attempting to both get sand out of his pants and air his wings, the blue and black siren was gaining on the rag tag group. "Wait~" His voice was borderline whining.

As he found them, the siren gave a small chirp from behind the taller dragon.
"Jericho? Riley? What's going on?"

Riley pulled her tentacles down and made a face (which was a feat in and of itself!) at Jericho. Yes, I'm all right. I'm just tired. It's been a trying day. She patted him gently and released him from her clutches, fully intending on returning to Malodore when from behind him she heard Israfel's voice. What a happy reunion this was turning out to be.. in fact, with the three of them at her side, she was suddenly having flashbacks of Christmastown.

It was hard to say whether that was a good thing, or a bad thing.

Nevertheless she offered Israfel a welcoming hug as well, but as her hands wrapped around his form they froze. Something hit her like a brick, and her eyes flooded with blood red.

She could smell them.

She could smell them, and it consumed every thought in her mind.

All of her tentacles came to life at once, sliding around Israfel. They searched all of his pockets, under all of his clothes, and they had no mercy.

You have them you have them I smell them where are they ISRAFEL WHERE ARE THEY. She was bouncing up and down on her heels - Yes, Riley was BOUNCING - as she searched him thoroughly with her tentacles.

While it might have looked like a scene from a horror movie, she wasn't harming him at all. Unless you count a complete lack of modesty to be harm.

Israfel had expected a hug. He liked hugs from Riley. She gave nice hugs. But this..wasn't a hug. This was-

Well.

It was just sort of what she did in the tent when they were in Christmas land. But she was sober right now. And he didn't have any cider on him. Feathers fluffed out as he cocked his head, not really minding the invasion. It wasn't the first time this had happened. Plus he trusted her. While any one might caution him not to, her being a 'very dangerous demon', the small siren simply had no basis for a thought like that. No clue. She was Riley. Cider Fairy. His friend and half of his ship the SS Rileyodore. Still it did beg the question.

"Riley."

A tentacle poked him in places he found rather..not fond of being poked.

"What are you doing?"

She shuddered. It was a visible movement, and with it came a small whine. Israaa. I smell them. You brought the candied brains with you. Pleaaase don't do this to me. Why can't I find them.. Her voice was a constant whine, edging over to a dangerous growl. Her tentacles had run out of places to search, and she was getting desperate.

Well, not -that- desperate. She had enough common sense left in her to assume he wasn't hiding candied brains up his backside. They weren't drugs, after all.

Was she mistaken? No, she couldn't be. She could smell them. She could smell them. She grabbed Isra's arms and pulled him to arm's length, giving him the most pathetic look of begging that she had ever made in her entire life. She made sure her back was turned to the group when she did it.

Please, please Isra. Can I have them? I'm so very hungry..

He giggled and his feathers poofed out. He couldn't help it. Some of those tentacles tickled. "Ahaha~ Riley stop!" As she removed her wiggling appendages from him, (and his pants), Israfel blinked at her, dumbfounded. "Wha?" He shook a shoe, sand and mud falling off. "Oh candied brains. Um..." fishing around, he pulled a small tin out. "Oh I forgot about these. I thought you said you didn't want them. "

Then she did it. She made a face.

A face.

And he was powerless. Maybe this is how she saw him sometimes, either way, he handed her the tin. "Riley you okay? You're not sick are you?" He was starting to coo is worry, shifting his weight back and forth.
