((Wow, you must have been playing way back when. No, that's not the case anymore. Since you forgot to pound Sableye, I'm going to assume you did.))

Nita placed a damage counter on Sableye after putting back a card. It was a card really needed too. Should have played it when he had the chance. Nita shook his head and then drew a card before raising an eyebrow in surprise. He quickly placed it over the Grimer to show that it had just evolved.

Muk 100 HP Psychic
(P) Sludge Drag
Switch the Defending pokemon with another on the bench. The new defending pokemon is now poisoned and confused.
(P)(1)(1) - Pester 50+ - If the Defending Pokemon is affected by a special condition, the attack does 50 + 30 more damage.
Weakness: Psychic x2
Resistance: None
Retreat: (3)

Nita then played another Professor Oak's Visit and placed one card on the bottom of the deck after drawing 3 cards. He then placed an energy under Muk and then played Poochyena.

Poochyena - 50 HP Dark
(0) Howl - Look for another Poochyena and put on bench.
(D) Lunge 20 - Flip a coin, if tails, nothing happens.

Nita sighed before saying,

"I'm going to use Impersonate again."

Nita discarded another Cyrus's Comspiracy and revealed a Psychic Energy and a Felecity's Drawing Supporter Card.

(Yeah, haven't really kept up to date with the game since, oh, the Neo block. And alright, sounds good.)

Konata's eyes widened as she saw one of her opponent's PokeMon evolve. Already? That was fast! She drew one card, and felt a little bit of relief, maybe this could help her out. She played a third PokeMon to her Bench.

Giratina Basic PokeMon 100 Hit Points Psychic
P1: Shadow Force
Choose one of your opponent's Benched PokeMon. This attack does 20 damage to that PokeMon. Do not apply Weakness or Resistance for Benched PokeMon.) Flip a coin. If heads, prevent all effects of an attack, including damage, done to Giratina during your opponent's next turn.
PP2: Brutal Edge: 50+
Does 50 damage plus 10 more damage for each damage counter on the Defending PokeMon.
Weakness: Dx2 Resistance C-20 Retreat 3

Then she followed that up with another Supporter.

Team Magma Schemer
Discard any 1 PokeMon from your hand. Then draw three cards. If you discarded a PokeMon with Team Magma in it's name, draw four cards instead.

She discarded an Espeon, so she only drew three more cards. She nodded, and added a Psychic Energy, this time to her Mewtwo EX. Then it was time to attack, she had Ralts use it's Slap attack, for another 10 damage. With that, her turn was finished, so Team Magma Schemer went to the discard pile. "Your move!"

"And so begins our battle to defeat," said Nita with a smile as he placed another damage counter onto Sableye. He now had no use for the pokemon so the faster she could take it out, the better for him although he relished the thought of her being able to get a prize for free made his mood a little sour. Nita drew a card and looked at it. He then played Felicity's Drawing, the card he just drew and discarded a Skuntank G to draw 3 cards.

Felicity's Drawing
You may discard up to 2 cards, if you discard 1, draw 3 cards, if you discard 2, draw 4.

Nita then placed a card onto Poochyena, a Mightyena. A truly frightening card if used right.

Mightyena - 90 HP Dark
Pokebody: Cold Feet - If Mightyena is affected by any status condition, all mightyena's abilities cost 0 to use.
(D)(1) Collude 20+ - If a supporter was played this turn, the attack does 20 + 20 more damage.
(D)(D)(1) Desperate Attack 50+ - If the opponent's pokemon has more energy than Mightyena, this attack does 50 + 30 more damage.

Nita put into play a stadium card: Galactic HQ.

Galactic HQ
When an evolution card is played over a basic or a previous stage pokemon from the hand, that pokemon takes 20 damage.

Nita then decided to place an energy under Sableye before discarding it, retreating him for Muk. Since Muk had 2 energy under him, Nita used the attack Sludge Drag.

"I use Sludge Drag. It swaps your active pokemon with one of your bench pokemon. I choose your Mewtwo. Your mewtwo is now Poisoned and Confused." (Between each turn, poisoned pokemon takes 1 damage. Before any attack or attempt to flee, player flips a coin. If tails, pokemon takes 30 damage and nothing else happens. If heads, they are free from confusion. This happens whether or not you choose to attack or retreat.)

Konata frowned at Nita's move, that was bad. Bad for her, at least. She swapped the positions of her Ralts and Mewtwo, and felt the pressure. She needed something to turn this around, and fast! At the end of Nita's turn, her Mewtwo took 10 damage from Poison, then she drew a card. Shoot, that wouldn't help her at all!

She looked over her options for a moment, before simply shaking her head and ending her turn. Mewtwo took another 10 damage, bringing it down to 80. "Nothing I can do, go."

((Holy crap, my last post didn't go up and I had to be somewhere yesterday. Sorry Silver! crying ))

Nita drew a card after Konata could not make a move and then placed a third energy underneath Muk. He then looked through his hand, seeing nothing he wanted to do with it all. Nita then looked at Konata's bench and frowned a little, seeing that Giratina would be a problem if it were to get any energy under it. But he could not let the Mewtwo get another energy either. Nita decided to put down a Grimer that he had in his hand which was different from the one he had before.

Grimer 60 HP - Psychic
(P) Sticky Liquid - The retreat cost of the defending Pokemon costs (1) colorless energy more.
(1)(1) Sludge Toss - 10
Weakness: Psychic x2
Resistance: N/A
Retreat Cost: (2)

He had already placed down an energy this turn so he looked back to the active at hand. Mewtwo had 80 HP, affected by a special condition and is also weak to Muk. There was no way Nita would pass up this opportunity.

"Muk uses Pester. Because your Mewtwo is poisoned and confused, Pester does its original 50 damage plus 30 more damage since he is affected by a special condition," said Nita as he then drew 2 prize cards. Nita set down his hand and then waited for her to make her move.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 21, 2011 10:23 am

Konata sighed as she picked up Mewtwo EX and sent it to the discard pile, along with the energy she had equipped to it. "Yous erved me well, your sacrifice was not in vain." Her gaze shifted up to Nita's, as she struck a pose. "I will avenge my fallen soldier! Draw!"

She drew her card and grinned, she could work with that. She first had to choose a new Active PokeMon, she went with her Ralts again. It seemed like a mistake, but she had a plan. "First let's change the scenery a bit."

Phoebe's Stadium
Each player pays 2 less to retreat his or her Psychic PokeMon

"That gets rid of your HQ, letting me do this!"

Rare Candy
Choose one of your Basic PokeMon in play. If you have a Stage 1 or Stage 2 card that evolves from that PokeMon in your hand, put that card on the Basic PokeMon. (This counts as evolving that PokeMon.)

"Come on out, Gardevoir!"

Gardevoir Stage 2 PokeMon HP 120 Psychic
PokePower- Psychic Connect
As often as you like during your turn, before your attack, you may move a P energy attached to one of your Benched PokeMon to your Active PokeMon. This power can't be used if Gardevoir is affected by a special condition.
P: Energy Burst- 20+
Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each energy attached to Gardevoir and the defending PokeMon.
P11: Psychic Protection- 60
Gardevoir has no Weakness during your opponent's next turn.
Weakness: P +30 Resistance N/A Retreat 1

Then she adds a second energy to Gardevoir, and looks at Muk. Three energy there, perfect. She attacks, Energy Burst does (20 + 50) x2 = 140 damage, more than enough for the knockout. She only drew one prize compared to the two Nita got from her Mewtwo, but it was still an excellent blow! "You're up!"

Nita didn't flinch when he saw the Gardevior. He didn't flinch when he heard her attack. He quickly discarded the Muk and pulled out the Grimer that was on the bench before drawing a card. Nita quickly placed another Grimer onto the bench, one with the attack Gunky before placing an energy onto it. Because of the stadium, Nita was able to retreat the current Grimer for free and swapped it with the Gunky Grimer on the bench that had the energy on it. Before he moved to the assault portion of the game, Nita played another Cyrus Conspiracy and pulled an energy from the deck along with a Felicity's Drawing, preparing himself for a late game if needed.

Nita then looked at Konata and said, "Grimer will use Gunky. This attack causes the defending pokemon to flip a coin during their attack. If Heads, the attack goes through. If tails, the attack does nothing." Nita then set his hand down once more and waited for his opponent's move.

Konata nodded at Nita's move, a solid method to try to reduce the threat of her Gardevoir. Unfortunately it wouldn't be enough. She had a way to work around that gamble. For now, however, she still had to set up. Which meant drawing a card. Nothing game-breaking, but not the dreaded dead draw, either. She debated her options, risk versus gain and all that, and made her decision. First came attaching a second energy to her Giratina. Next came retreating her Gardevoir, for free thanks to Phoebe's Stadium. Giratina came up to bat, ready to do some damage. But not to the Active Grimer, but the Sableye on the Bench. Thanks to Giratina's Shadow Force attack, she could target a Benched PokeMon, in this case the already injured Sableye, bringing it's HP down to just 20. As well, she needed to flip a coin, if heads, Giratina would be completely invulnerable during Nita's next turn.

(No coin flip option, so rolling a die. d6, so let's have even be heads, odd be tails.)

((Illegal Move. Giratina never had any energy put on it before hand and there was nothing to state that you moved energy from any of your bench onto your active. I can't let that slide since I'm actually really pumped on this game.))

Nita blinked and looked at Giratina... Only one energy?

"Um Konata? Giratina only has one energy and since you declared an attack, you just ended your turn after a move failed to be used. I am not sure if you forgot to use Gardevior's Pokepower or place an energy onto Gardevior before but... It only has one energy. Rules would state that in a case of a move being done illegally, it would end their turn right away as if they had used an attack in the first place and nothing were to happen. Sorry Konata," said Nita as he drew a card.

A simple mistake that had just led to a disaster for her and he was not going to let that go unnoticed. Nita slipped another energy under his active Grimer. Nita played Roseanne's bringing out a Poochyena and a Grimer with Sticky Liquid before placing the Poochyena onto the bench. Nita then swapped out the active Grimer for the Mightyena before replacing the current stadium with his own: Moonlight Stadium.

Moonlight Stadium
All Psychic and Dark Type pokemon retreat for free.

"Skuntank uses Poison Structure, both our pokemon are now poisoned. Because Mightyena is poisoned, its poke-body Cold Feet becomes active allowing him to use any of his attacks for free. Mightyena now uses Desperate Attack to deal 50 damage plus an additional 30 since you have more energy than I do. Because your weakness is dark by two times, the total damage that will be dealt is 160. This will result in a knock out," said Nita as he then collected a prize, relishing the fact that he had to pull out a ruling like that but you cannot bend the rules when you grew up in a very disciplined environment. Nita counted the cards in hand and found he was holding 9 cards, not a pretty number if she had decided to play her deck with CopyCat.

Just so you know what Copycat, a supporter that was given as a promo recently in league, does.

Copycat
Shuffle your hand into your deck and draw until you have the same number of cards as your opponent.

((If you want, look back from when you played Giratina and read all your posts. None of them state you placed an energy onto Giratina until your most recent post and the more recent one does not say you moved the energies over to your active either. Sorry Konata but small things like that will get ya. ^_^))
PostPosted: Thu Jul 21, 2011 1:01 pm

(Ack, I think I see where I forgot to write it down. But you are right, so I lose my Giratina.)

"Tina, no!" Konata sadly sent another PokeMon to the discard pile, her misplay had cost her more than just a fall soldier. It had turned the tide of battle, she'd have to fight hard if she wanted to balance things out. Though as it turned out, maybe Nita had given her a little bit of help after all. All she could do was try and hope for the best.

She drew her card and nodded, hopefully that would help her out. First she had to choose her new active PokeMon, Gardevoir again, of course. Next I play a Supporter, Copycat. (Who let you look at my hand, anyways?! Though mine is the old e-Reader version.)

Copycat
Shuffle your hand into your deck. Then count the number of cards in your opponent's hand and draw that many cards.

"You have 9 cards in your hand, so that's how many I'll have, too!" She drew up to 9, then shuffled her deck. Looking at her new hand, she tilted her head to the side, kind of random. She could still try to make it work, though. She attached a third energy to Gardevoir, then played another Mew.

Mew Basic 60 Hit Points Psychic
0: Psychic Balance- If you have less cards in your hand than your opponent, draw cards until you have the same number of cards as your opponent. (If you have more or the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent, this attack does nothing.)
P11: Re-creation
Choose an attack on one of your opponent's PokeMon in his or her discard pile. Re-creation copies that attack except for it's Energy cost. (You must still do anything else required for that attack.) Mew performs that attack.

Next came a trainer card, Master Ball.

Master Ball
Look at the top 7 cards from your deck. Choose a Basic or Evolution card from those cards, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Put the other 6 cards back on top of your deck. Shuffle your deck afterward.

She picked up the top 7 cards and looked them over. There were two choices, so she spent a moment deciding, then revealed her choice.

Eevee Basic 40 Hit Points Colorless
1: Tackle- 10
2: Sand-attack 10
If the Defending PokeMon tries to attack during your opponent's next turn, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, that attack does nothing.
Weakness Fighting Resistance Psychic -30 Retreat 1

She then played the Eevee she had just gained, adding to her Bench. Next came playing a second copy of her own Stadium, Phoebe's stadium. She didn't want to leave that opening for Skuntank G again! Finally it was time to proceed with her attack. She used Gardevoir's Psychic Protection for sixty, and as an added bonus, Gardevoir loses it's Weakness during the next turn. This sent sixty damage to the Mightyena, added to the ten from poison between turns, and the ten that would come up when she finished her turn. It would only have ten hit points left after that. "That does it for me, back to you!" She hadn't gotten a knockout, but very close. If nothing was done, the Mightyena would be knocked out at the end of Nita's turn anyways.

(Ugh, lots of typing...)

Nita placed the 6 counters. Another tick of the poison came along showing that Mightyena only had 10 more HP until it would fall into the discard pile. Nita drew a card and then played Felicity's Drawing, discarding another Skuntank G from his hand like he did with an earlier Felicity's Drawing. Nita drew into 3 cards and then placed Poochyena onto the bench without much of a word.

Nita then decided to play down two evolution cards. The first was an interesting type of Muk onto the Grimer with 2 energies on it.

Muk 100 HP - Psychic
Poke-Body: Sludge Cell - If Muk remains effected by and Special Conditions between turns, remove 2 damage counters from Muk.
(P)(1) Strange Poison 30 - Flip a coin, If heads, the defending pokemon is now poisoned. If tails, Muk is now poisoned.
(P)(P)(1) Strange Sludge 50+ - If Muk is poisoned, this attack does 50 damage plus 20 more damage and the Defending Pokemon is now Confused.
Weakness: Psychic +20
Resistance: N/A
Retreat Cost: (3)

The second evolution card that was played was ontop of the other Grimer which sadly did not have any energy under it just yet. It was yet another Muk and a Muk that she knew well enough.

Muk 100 HP - Psychic
(P) Sludge Drag - Switch the opponent's active pokemon with one of their benched pokemon. The new active is now poisoned and confused.
(P)(1)(1) Pester 50+ - If the Defending Pokemon is Affected by a Special Condition, this attack does 50 Damage plus 30 more damage.
Weakness: Psychic x2
Resistance: N/A
Retreat Cost: (3)

Nita free retreated his Mightyena as Mightyena had no retreat cost and pulled out the Muk with the Sludge Cell Pokebody.

((I just realized I forgot to put in Mightyena's Weakness, Resistance, and Retreat cost as well as Poochyena... My bad... I'll list them now. >_<))

Mightyena 90 HP - Dark
Cold Feet Pokebody (You know what it does)
(D)(1) Collude 30 - Does 30 + 50 damage if a supporter was played this turn.
(D)(D)(1) Desperate Attack 50 - Does 50 + 30 damage if the opponent has more energy on the defending pokemon than Mightyena.
Weakness: Fighting x2
Resistance: Psychic -20
Retreat Cost: 0

Poochyena 50 HP - Dark
(0) Howl - Search deck for another Poochyena and place it on bench
(D) Lunge 20 - Flip a coin, if tails, this does nothing.
Weakness: Fighting +10
Resistance: Psychic -20
Retreat Cost: (1)

Nita then placed onto the field yet another stadium he drew with Felicity's Drawing: Galactic HQ. With Muk out as the active, Nita then used Poison Structure to poison both pokemon and then proceeded play a trainer Tool card: Expert Belt.

Expert Belt
The pokemon this card is attached to gets +20 HP and that pokemon's attacks deal an additional 20 more damage to the opponent's active pokemon (Before applying Weakness and Resistance). When the Pokemon this card is attached to is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 1 more Prize card.

Nita then placed a third and final energy onto the active Muk and then said, "I am going to use Strange Sludge. Because Muk is affected by a special condition, the attack does 50 damage plus 20 more and your pokemon is confused. And since Expert Belt is attactched to Muk, it deals an additional 20 damage making the total 90 damage. Poison makes it 100 total. As for Muk, he takes 1 damage from poison and then heals 2 damage counters off so he is completely healed."

What is in play:
Active: Muk 100 HP - 3 Energies - Poisoned - Expert Bet

Bench1: Poochyena - 50 HP
Bench2: Skuntank - 80 HP
Bench3: Mightyena - 10 HP
Bench4: Sableye - 20 HP
Bench5: Muk - 100 HP

Konata frowned, this was getting serious. She hadn't lost her Gardevoir, but it was far closer than she would have liked. If she lost it, then the end of the game would be just a foregone conclusion. But she couldn't give up! She drew a card, and shook her head, that didn't help her much right now. She'd already lost her Stadium, so she wouldn't want to evolve if she could avoid it, at least not just yet.

She played a Supporter card, Interviewer's Questions

Interviewer's Questions
Look at the top 8 cards of your deck. Choose as many Energy cards as you like, show them to your opponent, and put them into your hand. Shuffle the other cards into your deck.

There were five energy there, all Psychic, so she added all five to her hand, then shuffled her deck again. Next came adding a fourth energy to Gardevoir. After that, the possibility of a cure, Life Herb.

Life Herb
Flip a coin. If heads, choose 1 of your PokeMon (excluding PokeMon EX). Remove all Special Conditions and 6 damage counters from that PokeMon (all if there is less than 6).
[Won't say what happens since I can't see the result until after I post. Obviously I'll choose Gardevoir if it's heads, heal and then attack. If tails, then I'll hope I can get the attack to work anyways...]

Assuming the Life Herb works, or if not, if the coin flip works, Gardevoir would then use Energy Burst. With four energy on it, and three on Muk, the combined damage would work out to 20 + 40 + 30 + 20(weakness) = 110, just enough, if it would work.

If the Life Herb failed, Gardevoir would be in trouble, either knocked out from the confusion failed flip, or only 10 hit points left from the poison. At this point, this was an all or nothing effort, she was just barely hanging on. Could she last? "Your move."

[Going to roll 2 d6, the first for Life Herb, the second for Confusion in case the Life Herb fails, Just as before, even will be heads, odd will be tails. If both are tails, then you pretty much win, I think.]

Nita sighed as Muk was still alive with at least 10 HP. As it ticked back to his turn, he chose to Heal Muk before he took the poison damage so that Muk had 20 HP left. Looking at Gardevior, he noticed that she only had 80 HP left. Looking at her bench, none of the pokemon had any energies so there was not too much to worry about. He proceeded to play Roseanne's Research.

Roseanne's Research
Search your deck for 2 basic Pokemon or 2 Basic Energy or any combination of the two and add them to your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards.

Nita showed Konata 2 energys and then placed them into his hand before slipping one of them under his active Muk before looking back at the defending pokemon.

"I retreat Muk for my almost dead Mightyena by discarding 3 energies attached to Muk. I now use Poison Structure to poison both our pokemon and then Desperate Attack. Your Gardevior is now knocked out and Poison takes care of Mightyena," said Nita with a frown. He then moved Poochyena to the front after discarding his Mightyena and drawing a prize.

What is in play:
Active: Poochyena - 50 HP

Bench1: Muk 20 HP - 1 Energies - Expert Bet
Bench2: Skuntank - 80 HP
Bench3: Sableye - 20 HP
Bench4: Muk - 100 HP

Konata winced, that had been a major miscalculation on her part. She had thought that she had figured things out so perfectly, but it seemed she had been wrong. Well, nothing left but to keep going, and if nothing else, go out in a blaze of glory! She drew her prize, from Mightyena's sacrifice, then drew a card at the start of her own turn. She had three PokeMon on the field, none of them had any energy. One of them still had to be the new Active PokeMon, she went with Eevee. It wouldn't be able to do much on it's own, but maybe it could buy her some time. She went ahead and set another PokeMon on her Bench.

Froslass GL Basic 70 Hit Points Water
1: Sleep Inducer
Switch the Defending PokeMon with 1 of your opponent's Benched PokeMon. The new Defending PokeMon is now Asleep.
P1: Wake-up Slap- 30+
If the Defending PokeMon is affected by any Special Conditions, this attack does 30 damage plus 20 more damage. Then, remove all Special Conditions from the Defending PokeMon
Weakness: St Resistance N/A Retreat 1

She added an energy to one of her Mews, to prepare it for it's turn as Active. Since her current Active had no energy attached, she couldn't do an attack. Nothing left to do but end her turn and hope for the best! "Your move."

Active: Eevee

"Nita!"

Nita turned to see a priest standing at the doorway with a smile on his face. He waved for Nita to come over as children started to gather around. Was it that time already to tell the children stories from the Good Book? Nita had always offered to do the job and had hardly missed a session unless he was extremely sick. Nita stood up and bowed to Konata before saying, "I am sorry Miss, I have a previous obligation I have to attend to. However, we should play again some time. This was fun." Nita straightened and then headed over towards the chapel as the children started to stream in after seeing Nita coming over. Nita reached the doorway and thought back.

"Hrm... I think I met her before a long time ago. I wonder if she would remember the name Bone if I had told her... Oh well," said Nita as he shrugged it off and headed into the Chapel.
