"I like our family." Fidelity drew the egde of her lip into her mouth. "They can get too much at times though."
Like now. The main reason they had wandered off alone. "I wouldn't mind having my own family some day..." Mirage spun around excitedly, only brushing Bullseye a fraction more than she might have while walking normally as they were. "Yeah! Puppies can be so cute! You should see Trel teching Theron! Of course human babies grow so much slower than Talaye pups. You really get to see each little step!" Caught up, she ran a wide circle around the other two. Pausing a little bit ahead Mirage turned and looked at Bullseye, her head tilting slightly to the left. "You might not like your given family... what about one you chose? Would you... would you like to make a family, Bullseye?"
Mirage! What? Don't you feel that's a little too personal a question? Why? I want to know! Don't you thinkI'm curious too? Fidelity hesitated in her mental rebuke. Why do you want to know? She asked lightly, her mental tone lingering. Why did they want to know?
Mirage looked flustered. She rubbed one hooved paw over the other in a nervous gesture. I... I don't know. It obviously bothered her that she did not know. s if she somehow felt she should know.

Bullseye froze in mid-step, paw in the air as he stared straight ahead at Mirage. "I....er....." For once, he faultered, imperfections showing. "I..guess I never thought of it before..." And why should he have? He had nothing but bad memories of his own puphood and family, why on earth would he want to make one of his own?
Well there was the obvious answer: the more he had on his side, the easier it'd be to take down Flash. Who better to have on your side in a war against the hero than your own mate and pups? But then there was the trouble of raising them...and the potential rogue pup much like Zoom was.
But somewhere, deep inside, he did indeed long for a mate. Someone who loved him for who he was, and wasn't constantly picking on him or trying to thwart his plans. He'd never truely settle down, the assassin urge being too strong for him to totally give up. But if he found someone willing to deal with that part of him...who knew?
"I....I guess.......under the right circumstances...a family would be nice..."

They stared at the blue talaye in astonished wonder. Once again, they had managed to not overstep some threatening unseen line they should not cross and gotten true information about Bullseye.
However this time was different. This time... the evolved tala was suddenly no longer so strikingly untouchable. He was still mysterious, oh that would not change. Seeing him flustered for once gave them a new view of the male. He was real.
It was a strange discovery. Neither knew quite how to fathom this new concept. They did discover that they rather liked the idea, though it put them at a little bit of a roadblock. Both were thrilled that he had not totally brushed it off and were no longer worried about the question.
But what to say now?
"I'm sorry, we shouldn't have asked..." The twins looked an odd mixture of pleased & befundled. "It's not any of our business, is it?"
Shooting her sister a look & a quieting thought, Fidelity did not give her twin time to jump in with the next question surredly on both their minds. One world wrenching question at a time. It was all any of them could handle.

"It's alright....." Bullseye shook it off, composing himself once more. "Though, I'm a bit curious, ...why did you ask?" The evolved tilted his own head at the pair, searching them for answers.
"I mean it's not like I get asked questions very often anyway...." And why should he? Questions were asked when the person honestly cared about the other's answers. Did the two before him care? Or was it just friendly conversation? Was it possible that the two wanted to be good friends...or maybe even something more? Questions flooded the evolved's mind, but he wouldn't...no...couldn't voice them. He had already faltered too much, it was time to keep his emotions in check once again.

They relaxed instantly when Bullseye told them it was all right, only to freeze up again when he asked them the question they themselves had been wondering. Totally unprepared -and showing it- each girl's widened eyes sought her twin's. Why did we? You tell him. But you asked him! You're better at this than I am!
Fidelity sighed. Afterall Mirage had a point: she was better at this kind of thing. Figuring things out & smoothing things over & all around just keeping things polite & civil with the least amount of discomfort. "Well..." She tried to pick her words carefully as she spoke. "You had said you had many relations, but wouldn't like to call them family, and well, we like our family." The polite tala faltered this was not quite how she wanted to say this. "If you had your own, maybe you could experience the good things about having a family. You'd make a great father, there'd be much for pups to respect; You're not only evolved but you have a patience with silly little things." It was clear here she refered to her sister & herself. "Not to mention you're so confident, regal, cool, collected..." "& smexy!"
Fidelity's eyes nearly popped out of her head at her sister's interjection. She had been about to trail off her own words, afraid she had already said to much. In utter horror she stared at her twin, mollified. Mirage looked at her in confusion. "What?" Where'd you even pick up that word? Then it dawned on her & the color under her fur rushed out of her face leaving a paleness. "uh-oh... Did I say that aloud?"
Hanging her head Fidelity whispered, "We just want to know more about you..."

A smirk appeared on the evolved's maw, the compliments stroking his ego nicely...until.
"W-what?!" He nearly choked on his own words, the 'smexeh' comment thrownig him completely off guard. Once more he faultered, the assassin not knowing what to say.
"Well...to tell the truth..." The smirk returned, growing even wider. "I think you two are....smexeh....too."

About ready to start their mental argument all over again the girls' jaws dropped at the sudden massive compliment. Bullseye's smirk made him all that much more sexy in their eyes too, not helping their wobbling knees. If they were two legged like their human they would not be able to still be standing, as week in the knees as they were. They managed to stay standing, but only barely. Their knees buckled so far that their feathers brushed the ground. The flickering clouds and shafts of sunlight from above echoed the girls' thundering caocaphy of broken thoughts & careening emotions.
Mirage tried to step foreward, her mouth opening & shutting silently. She just stared at the evolved tala. One thought resounded over all the other broken ones. He thinks we're "smexy"!
She stumbled. Part due to her legs simply not responding as they should, part because in her blown mind she had not taken into consideration that her scarf was now dragging on the ground as it had when she was a pup. Mirage tumbled.
Instinctively, Fidelity's sisterly tie overrode her mind-freeze ... but not her body's state. Instead of running to her twin's side she lost her footing, teetered & fell into Bullseye just as Mirage tumbled into his forelegs. The solid body to body contact was more than the twins expected & hit them like a bolt of lightning. This feeling was magnified, at least doubled as each twin felt what the other was feeling & added it to her own experience in the split second emotional overload. They looked up at him, eyes bemuzed, surprised, & glassy in a dream-like way.
Amidst this jumble, Mirage found her voice at last. "So which of us do you like best?

Stumbling just a bit, the evolved managed to keep his footing, even after having two adult Talaye stumble into his legs. "You two okay?..." He nudged them a bit, helping the regain their own footing so they wouldn't end up in a huge Tala pile on the ground.
Looking down into their eyes, he found himself lost for an answer. "Honestly....." He began, struggling to find the right words. "I...don't really know. I mean you each have things I love about you.." Had he just said love?

((*giggles*))
Did he just say love??
Even with -or maybe especially because- Bullseye's assistance they had a difficult time regaining their footing. His words only added to the difficulty.

((all I keep thinking is, 'huge tala pile on the ground' isn't necessarily a bad thing.... O_o *twinkle*))
After a few moments, the girls managed to regain their footing, if not their surefootedness. They were nearly too weak-kneeded with so many revelations from & about the object of their adoration that if Bullseye himself was not there to lend support there was the chance that even if the twins leaned on each other there would be standing issues at hand. Or would that be at hoof?
"Honestly...?" Fidelity breathed, a bit dreamily. It was hard to crane her neck to watch his face while practically leaning on him for support. She knew she would have to stand on her own soon or the electricity coursing through her body from being so close would fry what little mental cpacity she had left. If it hasn't already...
More to the point, Mirage blurted "Things? Like what?"
Fidelity did not even have the mind to chastise her sister this time. Both were too overpowered by the evolved's presence.

((*cracks up* XD))
Despite the two leaning against him, the evolved easily held his ground, helping all three keep their feet. "It's...hard...to pick out simple traits. It's more like everything combines to form one entity that I like."
He was becoming flustered, the sudden serious talk really throwing him off. That and he just couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right int he meadow...like someone was watching whom he'd rather not be there...

"oh..." Though disppointment colored their response, there was also a keyed up joy to it too. They sighed in unison, perplexed. The important thing was that he did indeed like them.
Suddenly, Mirage yawned, ducking her face into her scarf. Whoever knew emotions could be so tiring? "I think I could use a nap. Anyone care to join me?"
Hearing this Fidelity blushed, and a plit second later her sister joined in. Innocently she hd once again said something that could be construed the wrong way. The problem really was, the twins were not sure whether they cared or not if the evolved took it other than the way it was meant; only how they would look in his eyes if they seemed to forward. Not that they were ready for such a step either way.

The evolved didn't seem to take the statement the wrong way, instead looking out across the grass surrounding them. "I....am quite restless actually....so I think I'll continue on. You two enjoy your nap though..." His tail gave a slight twitch, Bullseye tearing his gaze away from the grass and turning to face the twins once more. For some reason he just couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching...someone he hated...and not Flash either. But the only people who gave him that feeling weren't here...they couldn't be! He left them behind once he emerged from his comic.
Giving the two a short nod, the larger male turned to continue his way down the river. "Feel free to come by my place whenever you want...I wouldn't mind the company."

Their mouths formed into cute little 'mew's as they almost protested having to be parted from Bullseye. However neither girl wanted to chance overstaying their welcome and both felt the need to let their emotions & senses have a chance to calm down. How that sort of sensible thought made its way through their current states they would later look back on and marvel. Perhaps they were just too tired.
"Maybe another time..." Mirage could not help but say hopefully, in a soft voice.
"We'll come by soon... we'd love to see your place."
"You're welcome to come visit us too. I'm sure Trel wouldn't mind." "If you don't mind our hodge-podge family around of course." Mirage was quick to add to her sisters invitation. "We have a house in the woods just east of Bass'ken."
The strain of being jellified for too long finally overcame the twins & they sank wearily into laying possitions & curled into each other.
"You will take care, won't you Bullseye?" Three green eyes, one blue, looked up from the girls' faces full of concern. They might not be continuing on with him, but it was clear their thoughts would.
