Eyes wide at the fact that her glow was showing, Xinder hunkered down, ready to bolt at the slightest provocation before Horus' words sank in. "W-what did you say? P-pretty?" She asked, looking completely taken aback.
"It's not pretty. I hate my glow. Everyone always thinks I'm a freak and runs me off." Xinder blurted, sniffling a little. Realizing what she'd just said, and how whiny it sounded, she blushed and looked at the ground.

Ah so she didn’t want him to see the glow. He watched as she tensed up looking ready to bolt at any second. It was just a glow but he supposed out in the real world foxes weren’t as open minded as the ones in Kemet. “Ah yes I do believe I did say pretty” he said with a slight touch of amusement.
Ah so his assumptions where partially correct. “Well I am afraid to say I am not everyone. You see I see plenty of crazier things on a daily basis like perma kits fighting crocodiles and coming out on top. So you glow that is fine with me” He smiled. He held in the giggle forming in his thoughts. It would just be taken the wrong way anyways.

Xinder eyed the nebula splashed fox with nothing less than total suspicion. No one but her family had ever liked her glow. A few foxes tolerated it, but most seemed to hate it. To hate her. Trust was not going to come too easily to Xinder, no matter how cute and affable the male seemed. Suddenly, Xinder blushed; cute? She didn't think that at all.
"Crocodiles?" She asked, needing to distract herself from her own thought process.

Horus just smiled back quite used to being looked at with suspicion. Hollow had gone through a period where she had given pretty much everyone that look. Besides he wasn’t lying. He had seen stranger things and he had no problem with the glow. After all if the modeities deemed his tribe was good enough he was going to grow a foot taller and look a bit different.
“Yes, crocodiles. They are very large lizards who live in the water and like to eat foxes when they get to close to the river.” Horus explained just in case she hadn’t known about crocodiles before.

"And...you let little kits fight them?" Xinder asked. She was so confused. This fox was so different from any other fox she'd ever met. Aside from not minding her glow, she still refused to believe it was 'pretty', he let kits fight giant lizards. Then there were the giant lizards themselves....

“Well you see it’s not as if I choose to let Jaci and Raz go off and fight the crocodiles. Its more Jaci runs off to fight them before anyone can stop her. You see Jaci isn’t exactly a little kit. She looks like one but she’s stuck in that form for life. She’ll never grow up. Thus she’s basically a very small adult.” Horus pointed out. Didn’t want foxes believing he sent kits out to fight giant lizards. Mostly he had the bigger phims do that job since they had the added bonus of being able to fly.

"Maturity wise, maybe...or maybe not. She's still small...and a kit. Fighting giant carnivorous lizards doesn't sound like a smart idea. Maybe she's more kit than she lets on if she's making such iffy decisions." Xinder said, still looking a little confused.
"I can understand having difficulty stopping her though." She said quickly, not wanting him to think she's blaming him for the wild kit. "I know how slippery kits can be when they want to."

“Plus she gets all offended if you try and stop her at anything. As I’m one of her best friends I can get away with a lot more but she seems to like egging the crocodiles on. Actually since she’s little she can get to their eyes better. Once you cover their eyes some of the fight goes out of the crocodile, not all but enough to get a phim to rescue her.” He explained.
Well at least he had gotten her off the whole “I don’t mind your glow its kind of pretty thing. However he was pretty sure she was still slightly confused at the whole situation. “well she was a kit the same time my other friend was a kit and that friend is fully grown now” Horus admitted. “still I agree Jaci is definitely out there in personality.”

"I understand that she thinks she's mature because she's old, and I even agree with her to an extent...but she should be much more responsible if she's trying to be an adult." Xinder said, sounding more like a mother than anything else. Surprised at herself for giving such a strong opinion, she blushed and went back to watching the dirt.

“Well she’s not trying to be an adult, its hard. You would understand better if you ever saw her” Horus stated. “No its okay you don’t have to be embarrassed about your opinion. Everyone has different ones and they shouldn’t have to be afraid to state it” Horus answered and then paused. Ugh that sounded elderish, what happen to the days where he could just go and turn it off.

Xinder shot the other fox a wry look. He obviously had lead a relatively charmed life. Others listened to him, trusted him, befriended him. Xinder never really had that once she got separated from her family. Sighing, she noticed that the world around them had entered full dark. Eying the other fox, Xinder decided that she'd go out on a limb...just one more time.
"I..ah...found this shelter not too far from here. If you don't have to go back immediately...maybe you'd like to share. For the night." She added hurriedly. "You...ah, don't have to if you don't want to." she mumbled.

Horus had no idea what Xinder was actually thinking as he was not a mind reader, however most of the time wry looks weren’t that favorable. He wondered exactly what he had said to cause it. If he had known perhaps Horus would have said perhaps she had a point however it had taken a long and stressful road to get their and of course all those came from the elder status he owned.
Now he was getting eyed again. This was definitely an interesting excursion. Hmm he should be getting back soon but the thought of staying out here for just a bit longer to perhaps find a bit of horus as himself weighed down heavily. “Ah no I don’t have to go back any time soon.” Oh this was soo a lie and he was definitely going to get it from Kaname and Persephone when he returned but his best friends would be able to handle stuff and he said he would be gone for a while. Atum would forgive him right? “well if you truly do not mind, I would love to share an abode for the night, the desert does tend to get a bit dangerous with out proper shelter” this wasn’t a lie.

Xinder swished her tail nervously and almost took back her offer. She didn't know what she was thinking, letting herself be vulnerable again. But with him...he didn't seem like he was lying about her glow and she had to admit to herself that she felt rather safe around him.
"It's...ah...this way. I don't know if you'd call it an "abode" though. It's little more than a couple of rocks and bushes making a natural cover." Xinder mumbled in embarrassment. Seriously though, 'abode' sounded all elegant...not a hole in the rock. "The desert gets dangerous? I don't think I've ever been too far out into a desert, so I didn't know that."

For a few seconds as Horus watched her swish a bit nervously he wondered if she was going to retract her offer. Even though it would have made him sad he was in fact a guy and it would be understandable if she backed out, there was a run down kemet temple not far from here and he could make it if he really had to.
Horus chuckled slightly in amusement. “Well all the same, I wouldn’t mind sharing” Horus replied and then purposely ignored the embarrassment on her face. “Yes in some parts it does, the lizards I was telling you about get more active and the cats wake up. You get the occasional large cat or pride during the day but they are more active at night.” He explained. It was one of the reasons night was so dangerous another was Set but that little detail could be ignored at the moment.

"Ah." Xinder replied. That did sound dangerous, so dangerous in fact that it pretty much drove out any lingering doubts about letting him stay. She may have been run out of a lot of places, but that hadn't made her callous enough to do the same. She allowed the two of them to walk in companionable silence until they got to their destination. It looked nothing more than any other rocky outcropping. Reaching out, Xinder pushed a couple of the sturdy branches out of the way, opening a previously hidden hole.
"It's small, but it should be roomy enough to hold the both of us. Plus, I've noticed that the rocks stay warm through the night so we wont get too cool." She pointed out.
