Slausale couldn't tell if the lion was telling her the truth or not. She couldn't ask without being rude about it either. It wasn't wise to doubt one bigger than you were. If he was.... Would they still hold true around a cheetah like her? Rules that applied to lions didn't always work for other animals.
She cringed at the mention of herds and targets. On one paw, she wasn't a herd; however on the other she could very well be a target. Targets. He had said many. That meant he couldn't be talking about her. She looked up at him baffled. Wildebeest must be more tasty than cheetah.
"R-really? You'd really share your kill with me? I wont take much. I mean I don't need much, just the scraps or anything really." Slausale looked hopefully at the lion. Certain in the back of her mind that he would withdraw his offer.

“Mmm? Sure I would!” he looked confused for a moment. He knew that it was often every-creature-for-itself out here in the Rogue Lands but who wouldn’t want to share a kill with a pretty lady, really? “I mean, every time I catch anything bigger than a calf, the vultures and the hyenas take a good share after I’m done eating anyway…”
So, in Rei’s mind, he had already decided that he would catch the biggest wildebeest he could find – greedy, yes, but he wanted to give her a little treat. Now that he looked carefully, she looked a bit on the thin side.
“Well, I’ll go ahead then. If I fail miserably and don’t see you again, it was a pleasure meeting you, Slausale.” He laughed, waiting just a few seconds to see if she’d say anything else before trotting off with a determined expression now adorning his features.

She knew about vultures and hyenas. One or the other usually showed up when she happened to get a kill. She had to take care they didn't get it away from her. The cheetah gaped at him. A lion getting hurt on her account? It didn't seem right.
"Please be careful! Don't get hurt because of me." Slausale was positive now that something dreadful would happen to him. She watched his retreating back end and crossed her toes for good luck.
