"Really? Well, perhaps he would like one." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a couple berries, one sweet, and one sour. "Hn. Seems I only have these... Aki." He looked at the vaporeon as it was lifting it's nose to try and snag a berry. "Would you like to try one?" Mau offered to the absol. "Many pokemon will eat them to heal themselves, heal burns or cure poison."
Aki, being told he had to wait, looked like he was sulking and walked over to Faleen and pouted, hoping she'd pet him to spite Mau. "They're also good to cook with."

When the man extended a hand out to Absol, the Dark type blinked at its contents... oh, berry. Absol knew what there were from the wild, though they seldom grew in the arias he had lived in. Leaning his head forward a little, he sniffed at the two Berry, giving a discussed snort at the sour out in his hand, before tentatively taking the sweet one, backing away and trotting a few paces away before lowering it to the ground and chewing it quickly.
Faleen watched him with a slight incline of her head. "Oh... hello" she said, when Aki decided he wanted to go over to her. Umbreon eyed the water eon for a moment, though made no other movements. "Aki?" she asked again, holding a hand out to the Water type.

Mau smiled when the sweet berry was taken. "I see. Next time, I'll have a better selection for you." He offered as the Absol devoured the berry. He did enjoy sharing the fruits of his research, both literally and figuratively.
As Faleen held her hand out, Aki rubbed his head to her palm like an affectionate cat. "Aki's a bit of an attention whore. But he's a great partner." Ah, sweet sweet words that Aki decided not to react too and instead laced Faleen with affection and looked at the umbreon with a happy expression.
"You're doing a wonderful job training them." The fact that none of her pokemon got bored and wandered like his own hinted that perhaps Faleen was a better trainer than he was. Or perhaps he was too soft on his team. "When you train them, what do you train on? And do you work as individuals, or as a team?"

"Quite affectionate, I notice that trait is more commonly prominent in certain types." She didn't complain though, nearly stating an observation while she gently scratching behind the Vaporeon's fin. ... She was familiar with Vaporeons... knowing where they usually liked to be scratched and pet, a least, where one did.
She looked back up at Mau, "It usually depends on who needs the attention, I usually do group training, but if Absol needs work, I'll have a session just for him, or usually switch off." she explained "It gets more difficult the more pokemon I have."

He nodded some and watched Aki arch his back like a cat, before flopping onto the ground, rolling over and hoping she'd pet his belly. "Do you spar against your own team? Or just use the equipment?" He finally stood upright, folding his arms. "Training is never easy, and it's time consuming. But that's the price we pay as trainers." He paused, inwardly scolding himself for using that term. None of them were actually trainers. "If you can focus on one at a time, it helps them grow with their individual strength. Then training them together to work as a team, using their personal strength will build your teams overall power."

"Again I usually do both, change things up a little. I'll also sometimes go to the wild and find pokemon to battle there." she explained, patting the Vaporeon's chest
He stood, and her gaze followed him, looking up at the Agent as he explained the different training styles, and their benefits. Nodding to show she understood what he was telling her. "There have been several times where I need them to work as a team, I tend to focus on that."

Mau nodded, thinking for a moment. So her team worked well as a team... by itself. "What about if you have a partner, who isn't yourself?" He asked mildly. It's all well and good when you have your own team to work with. "Nuu." He waved for the ghost to come nearer. The blue balloon obliged, floating over and poking at him. "What if your sharpeedo were paired to fight with my drifblim? Or your absol and Nyx's aggron?" Actually, he didn't know much about that aggron other then it was a sturdy tank, and could take a hit REALLY well.
"How much work have you put into your banette?" She said she'd spent a lot of time with 2 of her pokemon, and now she was working with the sharpeedo. He wondered if he should test her. Put one of his pokemon with one of hers, against two of his, just to see how she dealt with having a partner.

When he said this, Faleen actually looked a little taken aback, not that this idea bothered her, but it was something she hadn't considered before. She hadn't worked -with- other trainers or their pokemon before, she would know how their team would work... Though now that she thought about it, it might have been something she should have considered. Team Rocket was known To partner members up, and that require quite a bit of team work, it was likely she would be assigned a partner at any time... she would have to know what to do. "I haven't... its always just been my pokemon and me, to be honest, I'm not sure how my pokemon would work with another Rocket's pokemon.
She shared another glance at Umbreon, who furrowed his brow, then Glanced to Absol who had walked back after finishing his berry, standing next to Faleen and looking over at Mau, much more interested in this man now.
"Banette was the first pokemon I ever owned, though I admit he doesn't get as much training as I think he should... I'm hoping to rectify that."

Mau smirked and held up a couple pokeballs. "How about a match then? Pick one of your pokemon to team up with one of mine, ad I'll just let 2 of mine run wild. Let's see how they do?"

Faleen stood back up, a small interested grin on her face. "Okay" she agreed, curious to see how this would work. She looked down to Umbreon, he was the best candidate for this "I'm putting Umbreon up." With That Umbreon stood tall, and stepped forward "Breon!"

Mau smiled. "Very well. Nuu, partner up." The ghost drifted over to float around beside the umbreon. She looked at the other pokemon and made squishy faces at him as Mau tossed his other pokeballs. "Ire, Ran." The Jolteon and Pidgeot appeared. Ran stretched her wings and clacked her beak while Ire looked ready to run away. "Party time, ladies. Let loose."
If beaks could form smiles, Ran would be grinning. She got to do things her way! Though Ire was less thrilled about fighting than her team mate. Nuu felt that wasn't fair. She wanted to do what she felt like too! But... now was not the time. Maybe later she could play.
"Ready?"

Umbreon looked to the pokemon he would be partnered with... a Ghost. This didn't really thrill him, he could outdo this pokemon! it was a type disadvantage! Faleen had stepped forward though, looking over the other two pokemon, she expected Umbreon to work with Mau's pokemon, but admittedly, was uncertain of the result. "I'm ready" she told Mau, nodding in confirmation.
She recognized the Jolteon, she had battled with her with Umbreon the first time Faleen had met Mau, she had sicked Umbreon something good last time, it was a close battle.

"Go for it."
That was the signal Mau's pair needed to take things into their own hands. Ire remembered the umbreon. She didn't like fighting it. Part of that was because it was a fellow eeveelution, the other part was because of the damn synchronize. So rather than starting out trying to poison the umbreon, she went right for a thunder fang attack.
"Nuu, thunder wave the-"
Ran flew up to prepare for a fly attack.

"You know how to deal with that Umbreon!" Faleen snapped at her Pokemon, Umbreon's attention turned upward to the flying Pokemon, but just as he crouched to ready the only attack that would be affective, a bolt riddled jaw found the darkest of the eons. Electricity ripped through Umbreon's body, and the dark type screamed out a yelp, throwing his head back as his body tensed out of his control.
Having been struck by the attack, Umbreon managed to jerk away from the pokemon, snarling and twitching while the affects of the thunder fang lingered in his body. He wanted to attack the Jolteon, but his master had made it clear what she wanted to happen. The dark type suddenly flashed away from Jolteon's sight, The faint attack was aimed for the pokemon in the sky.

Ran wasn't expecting a faint attack. As she was readying to dive at the umbreon, he somehow reached her. She shrieked, but continued, soaring down to finish the attack. Ire bristled at how easily the umbreon recovered. She arched her back and geared up for a hidden power.
"Nuu, shadow ball." The blue balloon squealed, having wanted to use this attack since she learned it. She pulled the darkness of the cast shadows together and pitched the orb, devoid of color, at Ire. Landing a direct hit, Ire stumbled back. Well, she might not be able to poison the umbreon, but Nuu was another story!
