“ah well some people don’t like to laugh. Xi lan’s grandfather didn’t really like laughing but then again he was a daeva” Amatsu pondered getting lost in thought for a while. He looked back at the desert when Eirene called it to attention again. “Yes the desert does have its own beauty. I was always told about Kemet ever since I met Kaname and Morin and how it balances greenery and the desert and beautiful monuments.” He pointed out and blushed ever so lightly when she laughed at him again. He could tell she really treasured her older brother. Of course Morin and Kaname had often talked about Horus as well. He couldn’t wait to meet him.

"Well....I love to laugh..." eirene smiled at him, "Very much..." she giggled as she looked at him. "Kaname and Morin....you keep mentioning their names...they are, friends of yours?" She cocked her head to the side as she walked through the desert with him. "I am sure that my brother knows them...but he had never mentioned them....How strange...." She then smiled, "No matter...." She looked up at the sun, "I think we are nearly there. Would you like to take a break?"

“Laughing is always good. It helps you live longer. At least that’s what Grandpa says” Amatsu agreed. “Yes. We are really good friends. The four of us Kaname, Morin, myself and Xi lan lived together for a while when Xi lan’s grandfather became too much. I see Xi lan every once in a while and Morin will visit when he is out on a raid. I don’t see Kaname that often so that’s partially why I am out today. I know for a fact Kaname grew up with Horus and morin is Kaname’s cousin. Hmm I guess that is a bit weird” Amatsu pondered. “Probably wait until we find some shade or maybe even a small oasis if there are any left. Resting here wouldn’t do us much good” he stated glaring up at the sun.

"Kaname grew up with my brother?" Eirene looked at him confused, "That is not possible...I....I would have known about this fox....My brother would have told me about him." She shook her head baffled, "Horus told me all about his life away from the village..." She looked down sadly at the ground, "Didn't he?" Eirene snapped herself out of her grey mood, and smiled to hide her confusion, "Right....resting in the sun would not be good....A small oasis is right up ahead.....or at least it used to be...I hope it's still there at least....I'm starting to get thirsty again."

“Perhaps horus did not know kaname’s name. Kaname can be rather secretive person and to get him to indulge any information is hard. Maybe Kaname went by a nickname I know that he often used to call Horus Heru for some odd reason.” Amatsu tried to reassure. He didn’t like seeing this pretty phim upset. Of course he didn’t like to see anyone upset but that was hardly the matter here. “Well oasis shouldn’t disappear that fast correct. It should still be there then.” He stated keeping his thoughts about seth and the encroaching desert onto the land.

"Mm...." Eirene looked up and smiled at him softly, "Thank you for trying to rise my spirits....I am fine now..." She inclined her head to him. It was very sweet of him to try and cheer her up, and she appreciated it very much, "Yes...i would imagine that the oasis would still be there also. It is not very often that they decide to disappear forever." Eirene looked up at the sky and shielded her eyes from the sun. "We had best go drink some water soon, I would hate to faint in the desert. it would be terribly embarrassing if we were find by a scout."

“Ah well… You’re welcome” Amatsu stated. He wasn’t too sure he succeeded but he was sure things would work out. After all Kaname and Morin had told him so much about Horus and even what he had gathered from Eirene he was sure there was some misunderstanding. Of course the topic soon changed and Amatu went along with the flow. He had a bit of water left and he hoped it was just straight a head if that happened. “Well I have a bit more water left. I’ll make sure if it does happen I’ll get us both to the water.” He stated. He had never really flown carrying a phim before but they couldn’t be that more heavier than a normal fox right?

Eirene smiled as she walked to the oasis, of course it was still as lush as she remembered it to be. Smiling to herself as walked over to the water and took a big gulp of it, then dunked her head in the water. The desert was so hot and dry, and she was so unused to it. "Mmmm....amatsu.....you should dunk your head in the water, it feels....so amazing..." She closed her eyes and did it again. If she was going to live here with her brother, which had been her plan along, she was going to have to toughen up and get used to the heat.

Amatsu smiled as they walked to the oasis he had realized that he liked looking at Eirene. There was something about her that was special. Something he couldn’t place his mind on. The look wasn’t one of perversion but more a gentle smile. He had a feeling they could be really good friends and the thought made him. “The desert is hot isn’t it?” he asked ignoring the question about the drink for now. “However it’s not really as oppressive as I thought. Its quite easy to get used to. Well at least if we have water.” He stated dipping his hand in the water. He was going to say he was looking out for fox eating water lizards but something latched onto his hand and dragged him under the water.

"Water is a good thing to have is it not?" She giggled at him, then looked at him shocked, "Amatsu!" She shrieked as he was dragged under the water. Was there a crocodile in there?! She gasped and thought of a bleeding Amatsu and nearly burst out in tears, "No....Amatsu!" she rushed into the water after him, holding her breath as she looked around the water. Where was he?! She panicked slightly. What was she going to do if she couldn't find him? Eirene would never forgive herself.

Amatsu looked in horror at the large fish that was trying to eat him for dinner. So far all the amount of struggling was getting nothing done but his air supply wasted. All of a sudden a growl rested in his throat. No he was not going to be fish food. He still needed to see Xi lan again and say Hi to Morin and his mate and greet Kaname and his family. With a snarl he leaped forward and tore his claws into the fish aiming towards the gills. He also used his wings as weapons too. Since the wings were wet there was no way to fly out with the fish and himself but they could be used offensively.

"Mmmm..." She swam faster in the water, when finally she spotted him. Smiling she rushed over to him and spotted the creature that was latched onto him. Amatsu was doing a good job of beating it off but she wasn't going to sit back there and wait. Eirene swam over as fast as she could and barreled straight into the beast, knocking it's head to the side. It was heavier then she thought it was so she couldn't dislodge it like she planned but she had at least made a statement that she wouldn't let it eat her friend.

Amatsu was suddenly free. He looked over at the fish and towards Eirene who had apparently dived in after him. The fish looked confused wondering which one it wanted to attack. Well Amatsu wasnt going to let it attack Eirene that was for certain. He hoped he hadnt been dragged that far from the shore as he could get the momentum to shoot up out of the water his water logged wings wouldnt sustain flight that long and the landing would be extremely hard. Diving towards the fish he used it as a spring board and launched himself out of the small lake. The fish nipping right where he had been before they both fell into the water again. Amatsu quickly scrambled towards the shore and barely made it out.

Eriene watched as Amatsu flew out of the water like a bullet and swam her little heart out. She didn't want to get left behind and be eaten by whatever it was that grabbed him in the first place. But to her luck it looked like the fish thing was still after the male and she was able to fly away with very little trouble. She pulled herself out of the water and rolled onto the shore panting. "I....have never....seen....a fox....get taken...by a.....fish...." she panted out with a teasing smile on her face. Even though they had almost died she found the humor in the situation.

Amatsu glared at her but since it was him it came out as a rather grumpy pout. "So what.. lots of foxies get eaten by fish... and lizards, and big cats." He looked back towards the water and then at his foot. It was extremely sore and bleeding a bit. Taking a leaf from a near by tree he wrapped it around his wound and added pressure. Growing up with three other boys tended to create tons of bruises, scrapes and the like. "looks like a tiger fish. I have never seen one this far out and not in the Iteru" he stated shaking his head. only way would have to be humans right?
