The boat was gorgeous! Well, gorgeous enough, though the bug choice would have been leeches if he had his way. Still, it was massively large and had a strong, earth smell that was like a welcoming perfume. It reminded him of his house on the river, swollen with water and rotting in a few places. Well, more than a few. Usually this would be welcomed as it let water in and Calder certainly loved water, but this time around, he only swallowed hard at the idea. It had been a strange turn of events that he was allowed on this trip, and while he loved boat rides, he was nervous about what would happen. He knew no one here aside someone he tried to drown, and he didn't like that sort of starting point at all.
Still, he had to make do, and he breathed deep to clear his mind. Instead, he got a strong whiff of the tide and shuddered a little. Oh, that was nice.
Unlike the ghosts, Calder has something to worry about when boarding the ship. He was a lot more dense (horse and all), and hooves weren't really made for wooden planks. Luckily it was rather rough from being rotten but a few spots were slippery. He first set a hoof down and then tried it out, before clip clopping his way up to the ship. Already there were several students including Lizzy, and his ears dropped as he slowly moved away from her. As he did, he caught sight of Nurse Cricket. Ever since his punishment, every time he went near water, he wound up in her office. Not to mention he had to go to her to check on his bad leg. He wasn't sure he was on his bad list, but he was pretty sure she wasn't thrilled to have the water-problem kid on her boat. He only nodded at her and looked around for the entrance to the lower deck to put his small, canvas bag away.

"It will take far more than the weight of you students to make this ship buckle and take on water." Cricket saids tiffly, seeming to notice how some people were reacting to her boat. It was a sturdy boat. Certainly a little bit uncomfortable for those who wanted...certainty, but Cricket wasn't worried about it.
Then again, Cricket was a ghost. She probably wasn't too concerned with the possibility of death. Given..well, yeah. It was obvious.
However, outside of that, Cricket gave her 'First Mate' a glance, though her expression remained very passive and uncaring, before walking to the front of the ship to glance out at all the salt water. No leeches for salt water.

Alessa was an early bird, er, bunny, anyway, but for some reason she still felt sick. It was probably because if she had a choice she wouldn't have been going on this Jack damn trip. The last one had been a disaster, full of attacking trees and snowmen and cold weather and it just hadn't been pleasant at all. Not only that, but Alessa hated any sort of unnatural transportation. That included boats. The train had crashed for Jack's sake! What did that say about their boat trip? Her stomach turned. She was hardly a good swimmer and she imagined if she fell over board drowning would be her fate.
She stared up at the ship, holding on tight to her small duffel bag. Well, best to get it over with. She just wished Ren, Gabe, or LW had been with her...she got on board anyway. Once there, she looked around, hesitant, "Jove??" Ren had asked her to stick with him. A familiar, or even slightly familiar face, would have been welcome with the way her stomach was squirming about.
"Oh! There you are!" She said suddenly, going over to the small ghost pup. Realizing he wasn't alone she offered a bit of a sheepish smile to Lizzie and Seiji. "Oh...hi, um...I'm Alessa. Looks like we're in for a ride?"

Charlie had not really meant to be on time but it just so happened the little fallen angel was on time. He had -sorta- packed his stuff in a dirty looking duffle bag that looked as if it had seen better days. The fact the duffle bag smelt of soy sauce for some reason wasn't helping the demons case.
Probably would be hard to believe for most beings but Charlie had a knack for cleaning. Just not when it came to his own stuff most of the cases.
So the pink haired demon stood there looking quite amused for what ever reason that he was on a boat. Though if anyone could take a further gander at the thought process of the demon they'd see he was slightly disappointed there were no pirates. But only slightly. Moving on any ways.
Two faces Charlie knew just so happened to be on the boat. Lizzy and Alessa, oh dear this was going to be fun now wasn't it. Charlie made his way toward Lizzy keeping a dopey half amused, secretly displeased at the lack of pirates, smile on his mug. Still the fallen angel said nothing. Just looked amused for what ever reason.

In order to make sure that she made it to the boat on time Aldara had done one very important thing. It hadn't involved setting an alarm, amazingly. It had, as a matter of fact, involved simply staying up all night... Mainly deciding just what she was going to pack and what she was going to leave behind.
When it was all finished and her one piece of measly two foot by two foot, travel-sized luggage was packed to the point of exploding (Not really! She had fastened a belt around it to keep it shut! It wasn't going anywhere...) she had headed to the boat. One by one she had watched as the others arrived, finally standing up so that she could drag her luggage onto the boat along with her.
"Interesting enough..." She murmured, stormy eyes glancing around. At least she was used to the sea, even if she wasn't particularly accustomed to the whole boat side of it...

The sound of another students foot steps boarding the boat was enough to have Charlie pause, if for only a moment, and glance over his shoulder. A face he did not recall ever having the pleasure, and in most students cases their misfortune, of running into. The demon gave her a goofy smile and a wave to the mysterious new comer.
"Sorry to disappoint but I dont think their are any pirates on this ship," The goofy smile in moments had transformed into a pouty frown. It was true. Charlie had still not seen any pirates and he was starting to get a little antsy from this lack of walking the plank and booty and what ever else it was that pirates tended to do.
"Was really hoping for some booty," The statement had not been directed to anyone or anything but him self. Still Charlie had pretty much said it loud enough for anyone to have heard. He kicked his feet some and slouched his shoulders in disappointment.

Her brow lofted at the boil addressing her, head cocking slightly to the side in an almost bird-like manner as she tried to size him up before snorting softly as her tail feathers twitched. "Well, there's no booty to be found here either." A lie. She had a rather nice one hidden somewhere beneath her skirts if one could get past her scowl enough to make her smile.
"But if there's anything of worth to be found..." Anything shiny. "You can count me in." Ah, there it was, the ever-elusive harpy grin. There was something edging on sarcastic about it, but it was honest enough. "I might have a hat somewhere in my luggage with a feather or two... Not quite a pirate's, but. Nothing beats natural plumage anyways."

Draven was excited. Sure, the last field trip had been…less than desirable, but he had still found (parts of) it fun. And this time-there were boats. He’d never been on a boat. Someone had once told him that being on a boat was like flying, what with all that wind flying around you. Anything that was like flying had to be good.
After the announcement the day before, he’d contemplated the trip. What to pack, what to wear, and where they might be going. They could be going anywhere. The sea was big, right? Anywhere was definitely a possibility. He’d packed a small bag, and gone to sleep early. He wanted to be thoroughly rested for the trip. The morning of the trip, he’d woke up early and made sure he had all his things ready to go. He fed his minipets and made sure they would be comfortable, straightened up his dorm room (no one likes coming home to a mess), and had eaten a good breakfast (he thoroughly hoped the food on this trip would be edible).
The walk to the dock had only increased his excitement. When he reached the dock, he decided that his excitement was completely founded. The boats were all vastly different, and yet, all were amazing. Quickly he found which boat he was supposed to be on. Boat 5, Hexapoda Insecta, did not disappoint. There was a strange bug theme…but looking beyond that it was all rotted and old. Like a haunted pirate ship. That meant it had to be great, right?
Grinning, the demon marched straight onto the boat. The first thing he noticed was that the boat moved slightly beneath his feet. That was an odd feeling, but not uncomfortable. A bit fun, really. Then he noticed the sea breeze, it somehow felt differently on the boat (novelty, really). It was refreshing, and the smells on the air were pleasing.
There were several other students already on board, chatting. He didn’t know anyone, but figured that would change during the trip. For his part, Draven stood there, taking the sights, smells and sensations of the boat. This was going to be an adventure (he hoped). He was also grinning like a fool.

She looked up from her new acquaintances just in time to spot Calder boarding, and part of the nervousness came back. He did not look too happy, however, which made her a little guilty about being upset to have been assigned to the same boat as he... He must have felt the same way, although she was sure for completely different reasons. Since they were going to be here for a while, she decided that she should attempt to be friendly at least, offering the Kelpie a small smile and a wave.
Hopefully it didn't look too forced.
The arrival of a ghoul caught her attention, however, as she turned away from Calder (who seemed like he was going somewhere anyway) to Alessa. She returned the smile with one of her own, dipping her head in greeting, "Nice to meet you, Alessa! I'm Lizzy~" She then cast a sideway glance to Jove and Seiji, as if waiting for introductions from them. It also seemed to her that people were gathering around Jove! Was it a need to protect him? She certainly felt that way... Then again, it might just be because they knew each other.
"Hey Charlie," It was difficult to tell how the Demoness felt about the pink-haired boil from her tone, as it sounded like it could be accompanied by a sigh. However, there was a bemused grin on her face that pretty much meant that she was already amused by him - if anything, now that Charlie's here, she probably will forget about being on a boat, "And if you're talking about a pirate... Uh, he seems piratey?" She gestured at their ToT guide, still obviously amused. The fact that he was already speaking to another student also made her rather happy; he would be kept occupied and hopefully out of trouble!
Again, to be polite, she nodded at the newest arrival to the boat, offering him a smile - a grinning boil who looked excited enough for all of them. All that grinning was almost contagious!

Calder stood away from the group, moving to walk about the deck. It was a large ship though he had to be mindful of a few weak spots in the wood and some clear holes, but big enough that he didn't need to be right up against everyone else. They seemed to be having fun anyways. His hooves tried to grip the planks as best he could and he walked, hair whipping up but tied up in a ribbon to keep it together, and out at the large sea. He had spent weeks without a swim and to be surrounded by so much blue made him want to just jump overboard and take a few laps. Usually his kind wasn't for salt water, but he had ridden a boat a few times before. Nothing as large as this. There had been a few clan meetings he had went to where, as a child who couldn't power through strong currents yet, he and his parents would take small fishing boats or a ferry over to the meeting places, across a large lake. The ocean was new. It was a endless territory of water and he went over to the side of the ship, looked out, and breathed deep. His legs went a little weak. It was nice. The scent of damp, wet, and a tingle of salt that brushed up his nose.
His eyes almost went dream for a moment as he took a moment to look out at the wide wonder that was out before then. He wished he had someone he knew that he could enjoy the trip with. Opening his phone, he checked Sin's message again. He'd be fine. Just fine.

Though he'd tried very hard not to think about it as per Junko's suggestion on groanspring, Thackery was already feeling a bit queasy. And he was just looking at the boat. He tried very hard to attribute it to the fact that he was prone to motion sickness, and absolutely definitely not because he was without his most favorite things - his minipets, his brothers, and his Ashford - but his thoughts inevitably strayed in their direction. He couldn't miss them all this badly before the trip even started!
It was obvious that the Cerberus had made an attempt to dress for the occasion. He wore a striped, long-sleeved shirt, rolled up to his elbows and tied up over his midriff, a strip of cloth wrapped around his forehead, and cutoff shorts. Once again, he'd taken the theme a bit too seriously.
He tried to put a bit of bounce in his step as he boarded the boat. This trip was going to be exciting, definitely! And there would be other friends here! And nothing could go wrong like it had on the train ride, that was for sure!

Charlie grinned at the new comer student with the blue feathers and gave her a thumbs up. "Eye eye matey!" Yes he was unaware that it wasn't eye eye but aye aye but it wouldnt make any difference to the demon even if some one explained the wrongness of his statement.
"I think I can cut some fabric from some of my shirts and make a wicked bandana. We'll be fashionable AND pirates." It made perfect sense right? Pirates were fashionable mythical beings that had some sort of obsession with booty for what ever reason. Yeah it made sense.
Then Lizzies voice cut in and Charlie found him self looking over at the guide. Any normal student would have probably agreed with Lizzy but Charlie was no normal student. Some might even say that he was a little on the special side.
"PFFFFFF That jokers not a pirate. Me and blue bird girl here are pirates. She said she has hats! Thats WAY more pirate then that guy."

Draven stood for a moment, taking it all in. The same thing echoed over and over in his mind. This was going to be awesome.
He looked back towards where the students (most of them anyway) seemed to be gathering. He noticed one pink haired ghoul tossed him a polite smile. Right. Manners. Mustn't forget those in the excitement. He returned the nod, and decided it was time to join the group. He could explore later once the ship was on the move. He almost couldn't wait!
He moved towards the group, catching the tail end of a pink haired boil's statement. "Proper headgear is a necessity for pirates," Draven agreed with demon. It was true, after all.
"I'm Draven," he nodded to the group in general, which was still growing. Best to get the introduction out of the way. "Looking forward to spending time with you all." His grin was friendly, and not quite as foolish as before.

Jove's ears perked up at Lizzy, relieved he wasn't the only boating newbie on board. He shared her excitement, and also the trepidation she hadn't voiced.
When the little pup heard his name called by a familiar voice, he whirled around broke from the group to trot over to Alessa. Ren wanted her protected, and Jove was certainly intent on doing so! He actually reached out to take her hand, and pull her the rest of the way towards the cluster of students forming on board. Then he stood silently, and perhaps a little proudly, between the ghoul and Seiji.
As everyone chattered and introduced themselves, Jove looked up at all the other students arriving without a word, just a slight wag of the tail every now and again. The arrival of the... pirate who smelled canine got a little more enthusiastic wave, not because of the getup, but the knowledge that there was another doggy student on board. He also gave the kelpie a curious, ear-perked glance, wondering why he stood apart from the group. Surely it must be lonely out there. The little foxfire's ears drooped slightly at the thought.

She chuckled softly and was about to comment on what Charlie had just said when the new boil's voice caught her attention instead. She found herself turning to him while wearing a grin - see, grinning is contagious - although she was mildly surprised he had agreed with Charlie, "Seems like I have much to learn about pirates then! I'm Lizzy, its nice to meet the both of you!"
Her gaze shifted from Draven to the Harpy, dipping her head slightly as she did her introductions for both of them. She then paused momentarily before turning to the Harpy; for some odd reason, while she was pretty with her lovely hair and feathers, Lizzy couldn't help feeling... Rather intimidated by all the feathers. Now that Draven was closer, she was starting to feel just a bit nervous around him as well. Odd.
Still, it wasn't really a visible sort of nervousness, and the nervousness of being on a boat and going on a school field trip was enough for her to push it to the back of her mind. Instead, she chose to focus on getting to know her shipmates better - if the Christmas raid was any indication, they would need to work together to survive whatever the school might be throwing at them.
"And you are? I'm afraid I didn't catch your name," She gestured at the Harpy with a sheepish smile. A side glance to Jove (she can't not look once in a while!) caused her smile to widen slightly - seems like it might be a little early to judge who's protecting who and who's comforting who!
