Mercy squealed with unabashed joy as her father finally agreed to let her eave the herdlands - at least for a little while, it wasn't that she didn't love her home - she really did...but a girl has to get out once in a wile you know? Besides she really wanted to meet this 'handsome distraction' who had so clearly wooed her sister. She was sure he'd be a nice fellow - Mercy couldn't see Syn taking up with anyone mean.
Like her sister she stepped forward to nuzzle father "We'll be fine dad, don't worry, we'll look out for one another, find this stallion and be back before you know it!" She assured him as though this would be the easiest little trip in the world. she bobbed her head in agreement with the leaving in the morning idea...though she wasn't sure how in the world she was going to be able to actually sleep with all this excitement.
Chev heaved another deep sigh but couldn't help but smile as he received the nuzzles from his daughters - he might act gruff but they both knew that underneath it all he was really a big ole softie. The fact that they both knew this fact had of course caused him no shortage of trouble over the years "Well at least I'll get one night with you two before you both run off on me" He told them with mock sadness - though he really would be lonely while they were gone. It had been along time since he'd been all alone..well minus the herd but they weren't you know..his family.
"Come along then and tell me a bit about this Orrin fellow" He encouraged Syn before ushering both his daughters off to the place they generally spent their nights.
