He shot out, chasing after her to block her way. He was faster than most lions because of his size, and faster than her because of his training and her soreness. "Run when you're healed," he said coldly. "I'll catch you again. Then run, and run, and run, but you will never escape until I'm ready to let you go."
Why was he doing this? Sure she was a problem, but he was acting like a Ligi, and he was--he was enjoying it. She had challenged him, he thought, forcing his guilt aside. Her challenge was at just the wrong moment, too, because he was still chafing over his mother's orders.
And if she was in the habit of trespassing, she could wind up with far more dangerous lions than him. Possibly.

Sitaki wasn't stupid. No, she was a very clever girl, very intelligent. She knew when she'd been had. She knew when there was no hope of winning no matter how much her stubborn pride balked at such an admittance. Sitaki was in no position to fight this male. He was fast, blindingly so, and he was strong, smart. Had they met under normal circumstances she would have been thrilled by him, attracted to him.
Right now she just despised and loathed him.
Sitaki-hii felt cornered, stifled, suffocated. There was no escaping this male. She could fight tooth and claw but she was outmatched in every single way. The only hope she had now was escape. Not now, not under his watchful gaze, but... perhaps soon.
"I will kill you," she said simply. A statement of fact, one said without force and emotion. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, and Sitaki had no place else to go.

"Get in line," Jabari drawled. "I can think of a pride full of people who have the same desire. But either way, start moving," he said, motioning in the exact same direction she had tried to run in the first place. "And welcome to your new home," he added as the skull of the weeping lion came into sight.

Sitaki hated it on sight. All she could do was think about how stupid she'd been, making a foolish mistake the way she had.
"You won't keep me here," she growled softly, not expecting a response. It was a weak threat, and she fell silent as she allowed herself to be ushered in to her 'new home'.
She would escape. Someday, she would escape, and perhaps she would kill Jabari while she was at it.
