The 'Wierdo' stood rubbing his head and wincing, but he seemed impressed, or might have had you not needed all your attention on the rock-monster that remained after clobbering the unstable-b***h. It decided to emulate you... One stony hand lashed out like a child to sweep your legs out from under you, dropping you to your back on the damp pavement, it's hand lifted again, the face smack...except this one might knock your head clean off...

The swipe across the legs on its own was enough to put Ever down, leave him staring blankly up at the sky. Dazed, his head aching something terrible and the bat slipping out of suddenly-limp fingers, it took him a moment to recover enough to realize the thing was still coming at him.
He couldn't get to his feet in time. One great arm swung straight toward his face in a mimicry of Ever's own swing at the senshi, and he pressed his eyes tightly closed. It meant he missed the thing freeze and slowly begin to crumble, instead.

"You Can breathe again..." Came a familiar voice, that 'wierdo'... "It's dead... and they do seem to make a convincing argument that air is vital for the continuation of life...feel free to test the theory though." There was a light tease in it, a mocking if you wanted to look at it that way. He kicked to one side one of the rocks that had moments before been something of vague sentience and malicious intent. "Nice shot with that table leg..." He nodded towards the fallen girl. "Not the monster I'd been referring to but you really rather did impress me with that one."

Zac would have gotten some kind of witty comeback -- maybe. Ever would have found a sharp retort, might even have been a touch angry. With Zink, though, and with his head gone ringing and sore, all the reply he could come up with was a slow, pained sort of groan.
His head ached, and his back was probably already starting to go purple with bruises and for once he really, really didn't want a verbal rally.

Zinkenite moved to stand over Ever, considering... he glanced at the fallen senshi, and then at his own hands before looking back at the groaning civilian. "I'd like to make you an offer, this offer ends two ways... one... you'll like, it makes you stronger, it gives you the power to fight the twisted corruption of this world... it puts you in the fight that happens nightly on theses streets for the hearts and minds and heads of people just like you.
A pause... "The other option, you won't like... Because if you side with them..." He waved his hand at the fallen girl. "I'll kill you... and 'God'...can sort it out... " It was hard to say just how serious he was, truthfully he didn't want an involuntary conversion, he might even let Ever walk away if he said no...but he really didn't like being wrong about odds.

"You sound like a nutter." It came out pained, still, Ever managing to get up onto one elbow and then reaching down to smooth fingers over the small of his back. He'd had an interesting few weeks, recently; he blamed the craziness of the city. Or maybe Tony. It seemed like trouble might have circled Tony like vultures.
At least nothing seemed broken right about now. His eyes flicked over Zink, briefly, and decided that he was still small and still unarmed. Ever licked his lips.

"... You keep saying that." Zink said with narrowed eyes, that implied that he -knew- him, which was ridiculous... right? The 'weirdo' moved forward to crouch beside Ever, studying him for a moment like you might a wounded animal... or a bug. "You make things so much more difficult than they need to be." He said and then reached forward as though he would touch Ever's chest...but the hand did not stop...it moved inward -through- his chest, and it -hurt-. "Do I have your attention...NOW."

Oh god, that was -- Ever gasped again, in a floundering sort of way, and fumbled to wrap both hands down around Zink's wrist and tug. It was hopeless, but he couldn't help himself. His eyes were locked on the point where hand met chest, and the two blended together. It was surreal, and vaguely upsetting.
"S-stop." That was pleading, and shocked, Zink definitely had his attention.

"I'm not moving...that is the definition of 'stop' but I think you -mean- to say is 'Please remove your hand from my chest.'..." he Did so and stood again, looking down at Ever. "Like I said...there are two options... I'm offering you to be able to join us... to fight the people..." he nodded towards the fallen girl "Like that... or..." he let the option hang. "Or you find out if I'm serious..."

Ever was left sucking in deep breaths: no, Zink's hand hadn't actually been replacing his lungs, hadn't kept him from breathing while it was in there, but the very sight of it had sapped the air away. Now he worked to recover it, shaky and very much wanting both a drink and a cigarette.
He closed his eyes and set his head back, thoroughly unaware of the damp under one elbow and the dirt on his pants. "What do I have to do?"

"To Join?" He asked tipping his head "...You sit back and try to remember to keep breathing." He answered, his own induction seemed ages ago, half forgotten and so much -less- than the one of a number of days ago. "Trust me when I say there are things that hurt far worse... the other option is easier...and it might even mean I leave you.. but you know I'm interested in recruiting you, and that alone is dangerous." He admitted.
"Should I take that as a yes?" He looked satisfied, even with half his face obscured by the mask.

"B-between you killing me" -- Or doing that again, even -- "and 'joining'?"
Ever drew in several more deep breaths, and the pain faded out to a memory: just another ache to add to his list of sore spots and bruises. He thought, maybe, his elbow was banged up too; smoothed fingers across it and swallowed, digging for his words.
"I'm not...I mean, I don't do this s**t." It wasn't a refusal. It was more careful than that. It was coaxing, maybe trying to talk Zink out of this.

An impatient -sigh- and he stepped forward suddenly and buried his hand in Ever's chest again. "NO ONE...'does' this, not until their on -their- side...or ours. What you do not -realize- is that the very WORLD as you know it is at stake." He squeezed his hand around the small warm crystal in Ever's chest increasing the discomfort "They want to erect some -queen- of theirs... some otherworldly b***h to rule them AND us, and they didn't even start here, they were 'reborn' here because their own worlds were destroyed...do you understand what I'm saying? It's not science fiction, it's not 'insane'...it's real, it's here...and I'm asking you to join the fight against them... because it's not like you have a damn lot better to do, HAVE you..."

"No! No sir." Placating, that, hands fumbling down around Zink's wrist again as he wriggled under that touch. It left him pale, sapped of color, eyes looking bruised and mouth pinched. Ever could barely even think when he did that. His instinctive reaction was to agree with whatever he said to get it to stop.
"Take it out! Okay!" That was agreement enough, right?

"Ok you're -joining- or OK... take it out because your -uncomfortable- with it because that is exactly what I'll do if I don't get a coherent answer out of you. If you -want- to join repeat after me "Yes... I want to devote my life to the negaverse...if -not-... you can repeat 'take it out...how's that for clarity." He said with a frown, god he didn't remember being -this- bad when he was corrupted...then again he didn't remember part of it because it had seemed so painful at the time.
