xxxxxAs the rock monster trudged on, it came to a sudden halt to protect its oh-so-sensitive eyes from the light of the senshi girl transforming. It let out a sort of squealing, strained mix between a roar and a cry. Still though, it kept moving towards the smaller, more vulnerable target. As strange as it sounds, the more the brick moved, the faster they seemed to get, until the combination of bricks was at a sort of running pace, equivalent to maybe a kindergartner dashing down the street towards an ice cream truck. Eager, but slow.

It seemed however, that the senshi girl was going to get in the way. Making her mad seemed to be her one flaw. Though the rock monster wasn't intelligent, it could certainly pick up a few battle tactics. The monster hurled a few bricks at the surrounding cars and bikes, leaving quite a few scratches and dents on their nicely waxed surfaces. The rocks slid back and forth in its strange mouth, and it clapped its hands together, almost laughing and making a spectacle of the most likely irritated senshi. Still, it continued to move closer to the boy. Soon it reached the red truck, only to have its prize snatched away from it. The boy ran off, following an even smaller blur of purple-ish gray fur. Still, the brick being chased after his target with almost stubborn stupidity.

Upside down cat. ********* was one for a brief moment, legs wriggling helplessly as her sense of balance was challenged by a child's hands. At least the manx was out of the backpack's confining space. After being upside down, she was then held against the boy's body for a short bumpy ride. Since he hadn't put her on the ground, she assumed for maybe half a minute she was going to be stuck for the ride in Sam's arms.

However, she was wrong. Soon enough, she could no longer feel the pressure of arms cradling her. With a slight "eep," she landed on the ground on all four paws, feeling a slight tingle run down her spine from the landing. However, she couldn't afford to sit there and shudder too long. Normally she would have been able to sense the monsters, but these rock-like ones had been baffling for her. They popped up with no rhyme or reason.

The only clue that she had right now was the fact she could flat out hear this monster approaching as it trudged along. ********* didn't hesitate to start running, weaving through cars, but pausing every so often to look back to the boy. "Come on Sam!" With the way he looked back, she could tell something had happened further back.

"She can handle herself! Hurry!!! I think I can see a clearing!" Or rather, the little feline's eyes could see the edge of the sidewalk from her current spot between the various vehicles.

The sound of brick against metal was not doing the monster any good. Golden eyes shot at the creature again. If only looks could kill. Rather than sit around, the yellow-suited Senshi bounded towards the beast. There was no restraint as she hopped from vehicle to vehicle, trying to close the gap between her and the slow moving boulder. It wasn't a difficult task in all honesty.

"Hey, Rocks fer brains!!! Gimme yer best shot!!!" her voice almost snarled out as she then threw herself towards the monster. If she had a plan, Sailor Iris probably needed to pull it out of her a** soon.

His heart was beating wildly as he ran. Even though the monster was slow, there never seemed to be enough space between him and it; a football field wouldn't have been a larger enough gap. The sheer size of the thing was intimidating to the boy. He had never seen a hippopotamus before, but he was sure it was much bigger than one. Although hippos seemed slow, he heard in class they could be dangerous. This monster was much scarier than a hippo. In comparison to it, Sam was practically flying across the pavement.

They were coming to the edge of the parking lot. The sidewalk making the boundary between it and the road. It was surprisingly empty of traffic, Sam didn't even bother to look both ways before running across to the other side, the safe side that didn't have a monster who wanted to eat him. Or crush him, whatever it was monsters wanted to do with children. Sam hopped over a bench and crouched down beside the cat.

"What're we suppose to do?" Sam couldn't look away from the scene in front of them.

xxxxxThe rock beast continued chucking bricks at various machinery and chortling quietly to itself in a stupid sort of way. The boy kept running, all the time trying to reach a distant clearing across the street, which the brick mass soon shifted its target too. If he could just hear the cracking of the boy's bones, the soft drip of his blood, the brick monster would feel contented and serene. So slowly, ever so slowly, it trudged along and had just about reached the end of the parking lot. However, the monster had not counted on the girl to actually do anything. After all, she was just a girl. Idiotically it ignored the girl's terrifying looks, and kept walking towards the clearing.

xxxxxBut then something unexpected happened. The girl senshi trampled along the cars which she held oh so dear, and was quickly closing in. After a short run, the girl shouted something angrily at the monster. This was surprising. It could talk. It could shout.

xxxxxContinuing to giggle like a five year old in a toy store, the rock monster stupidly accepted the quickly thrown challenge. It grinned from one edge of its face to the other, its dark, beady eye holes staring at the girl in amusement. Only a quick pause seperated them, a silence which sustained for a moment as the brick monster stopped moving and simply stared. Then, as quickly as the silence had come, it vanished, as the rock monster began hurling bricks at the senshi with all its might. It was a game really. Hit the senshi and you win. Destroy her and then get the smaller one. Nothing more to it than that.

As the boy hopped over the bench, the feline took the opposite path and went under the bench, meeting the boy on the other side.

As his eyes remained glued upon the monster, ********* explained the situation as best as she saw it. "Well... there's no easy way to say this, but... You're a Senshi, Sam!" The manx had been able to sense it ever since she had been stuffed in that backpack. Apparently there was a reason for all of the movement while stuffed away in her denim prison.

With that, she stepped forward about 5 steps, then sprang up almost like a spring-loaded toy into a back flip. The flip itself was unimpressive since it lacked grace of any sort, but as she landed heavily upon her paws again, something clattered to the ground. A rather strange looking rust-orange pen of some sort and a phone both seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Giving most of her attentions to the overly large pen, she nudged it with her nose towards the boy.

"Take this and shout out 'Ixion Power, Make-up!' ... do it like you mean it, with feeling!" ********* pulled her nose away and looked at the boy expectantly for a split second. After that, the cat hopped up onto the bench, and attempted to hop up onto the tallest portion of the bench, but instead tumbled back down off the other side (letting out a small "ooph" as she landed). There wasn't nearly enough room for her to perch it would seem. Though the feline seemed all smiles, she couldn't help but want to see what was going on with the Senshi of Rainbows. Defeated, she kept that pleasant demeanor of hers as she made her way back to the side where the boy was at.

"Sam... it's time!"

The blonde senshi was making a mental note to herself (that she was prone to forget in the future). When fighting a Rock creature, it would probably be best to avoid throwing yourself at it. Right now, Sailor Iris was realizing how much of a sitting duck she was. She already had several bruises from that teal-haired Nega, and as the bricks began to bombard her, she was already thinking about how many more bruises she was going to get. Instinctively, she protected her head, but sadly the rest of her body was easy pickings for the monster. Bricks pelted her body, hitting her in the stomach, the legs, and many hit her arms as they protected her head. There was enough force to the thrown bricks to cause the girl to stop moving forward and get thrown back. If she had been lucky, she might have been thrown against the hood of a car, where there might have been some give to her landing.

Sailor Iris was apparently not lucky enough for even that much. The asphalt was her landing pad, and as her body seemed to smear across the black surface of the ground, she could feel the skin of her elbows scraping wide open. There was an intense hissing sound escaping her body at the moment, but that was all she'd allow herself in regards to expressing the pain she was experiencing.

"Gotta... gotta get up..." It was simple enough to say, a simple enough philosophy to follow, but many times it was more difficult than one could imagine. Despite how much her elbows complained about how heavily she leaned against them, she straightened her gloved arms (now turning quite red about the torn elbows) and pushed herself up off the ground. If she stayed down, she was already as good as defeated. Sailor Iris wasn't going to let that happen. Using her already wobbling arms to steady herself, she began to push up to her feet.

"Yer strong... gotta give ya that... but yer god damned slow... and I ain't talkin' 'bout how fast yer body moves..." Any time was a good time for a taunt.

“A…senshi?” Sam asked, a confused look on his face. Weren’t senshi the name of those terrorists that were always on TV. He watched with amazement has the cat did her fancy flip. An orange pen dropped to the ground, appearing out of thing air. Sam was impressed, but also confused. He stared at the little silvery cat; what exactly was she?

The boy hesitated before picking up the orange pen. He had always been told not to take things from strangers; but, magic items from a talking cat were different, right? Sam held the wand-like pen loosely, turning around in hands and inspecting it closely. It didn’t seem dangerous. As he played around with it, Sam felt a connection to the object. It really did belonged to him.

Sam listened to the cat’s instructions carefully. When she finished, Sam held the pen up and shouted, “Ixion Power, Make-up!”

In a flash, his dingy khaki cargo pants and red t-shirt were replaced with a tidy uniform. Instead of chucks he had black knee high boots. He wasn’t Sam anymore; he was one of them, a terrorist… no, a senshi! He felt like he had just been pumped full of pixie sticks, ready to do some damage. It was possibly the best sensation the young boy had ever felt. The eleven year-old imagined that this was what being a wizard felt like.

Ixion whirled around to see what was going on. The monster was still on his rampage. He saw Sailor Iris practically fly across the parking lot, skid along the pavement, and struggle to get up. Cringing at the sight, Sailor Chibi Ixion knew what he had to do. He had to give her time. If that monster got to Iris, there was no telling what would happen. He had to distract it. She was hurt, but Ixion was young and bursting with energy. Without a moment’s notice, the small senshi jumped back over the bench.

“Hey! Pebble-face! Over heeeeerrrrreeee.” Chibi Ixion dashed behind the bulky beast, shouting at it. Ixion pulled a face, sticking out his tongue and pulling the corner of his eyelids down.

xxxxxSatisfied, the stupid monster sort of clapped with joy as he hit the girl. Hitting the girl meant he won. That was it. But as the girl continued to stand up, it frowned. It was a fierce frown. A frown that said, "no, I won, you lost, get back down." The monster lost it's happy expression, and its laugh quickly turned into a roar of anger. This wasn't fair. The girl cheated. In an almost toddler-like fashion, it stomped its feet on the ground, sending miniature vibrations through the parking lot. Nothing noticeable, just vibrations. Pounding the ground, it reached up its arm in an attempt to throw more bricks.

xxxxxBut it was haulted when the smaller boy cried out. Turning, the monster looked around for the small boy. But he was no longer there. Now, there was a strange boy who looked quite similar, but had a sort of powerful air to him. The monster's arm flopped to its side. Now there were two of them? This was more work than he wanted. The rock monster simply longed to crush things, was that so hard for them to understand?

xxxxxNow it was go time. Now was its chance. It held its position for a moment, and then hurled a few bricks at the boy. He seemed somehow ... less resilient than the girl, and the rock monster arrogantly assumed it would take less hits. No longer was the monster chortling with each toss though. Now it was mad; enraged even.

Sometimes this whole Senshi thing seemed like babysitting. The new Chibi Ixion hadn't even waited after transforming to find out what he should do next. In fact, he was already reminding ********* of another senshi on the other side of the parking lot. After all, right after Sailor Iris had made one horrible taunt, the boy followed up with another one, completely defeating the purpose of whatever the eternal senshi was trying to do.

And now, the newest senshi had the full attention of the monster. As bricks began to almost rain in their direction, the cat called out "Chibi Ixion!" If she could manage to get his attention, she could perhaps try to lead him to some sort of temporary cover.

The blonde had managed to get the monster's attentions, but it was only for a brief moment. Who the hell was that kid on the other side of the parking lot?! Why in the hell was he trying to get the monster's attention?!!

Several curses were muttered under her breath, especially as the beast seemed to waddle to face the kid. "God damn it kid!! What th'hell are ya doin'?!!! Get yer a** outta'ere!!!" Those were some words of encouragement right there. Bending her arms at the elbows for a more defensive pose, she let out a grunting noise. Her elbows were throbbing because of the injury and bending did not seem to help any.

Feline ears twitched slightly at the sound of Iris being Iris. In a demanding tone of her own, the cat hollered out "SAILOR IRIS!! JUST KEEP IT DISTRACTED FOR NOW... I THINK I HAVE A PLAN!!"

The cat was talking.

And obviously outside of the backpack.

And there was another new senshi that was inexplicably on the scene of the battle.

"GOD DAMN IT CAT?!!! AGAIN?!!!!!!" At least everything made sense now, even if the blonde did not seem pleased by it.

His distraction was working, sort of! The boy hadn’t considered that the monster would fling brick at him, maybe just chase him some more. At least Sailor Iris wasn’t in too much danger anymore. Ixion thought he could bare the brunt of the attacks until she could pull herself together.

Bricks were flying at Sailor Chibi Ixion left and right. He was doing his best to dodge them. It was lucky that the monster was somewhat slow, instead of a professional baseball pitcher. Ixion was a much smaller target than the older senshi, and a bendy one at that. The size of the bricks and the speed that they were hurtling towards him made it not too difficult to dodge. Ixion was hopping and skipping around; most bricks whizzed by him. The boy thought to himself, ‘they always said dodge ball didn’t apply to the real world, guess they were wrong!’

"Nice try!" he winced, "my grandma pitches better than you."

Even though he was a good dodge ball player, all his skills at ducking and diving weren’t helping as much as he thought they would. A few bricks hit his shoulder and shins, nearly causing him to buckle. Still he was a trooper, until the cat called out to him.

Looking over his shoulder, back towards the cat, the noob senshi was distracted himself. A brick flew towards him, hitting in squarely in the stomach. “Ufffff,” the boy groaned from the sheer force and impact of the brick. He bent forwards, clutching his stomach.

“Damn it,” he uttered under his breath. The little senshi tired to straighten out. Slightly hunched and still clinging to his stomach, Ixion ran over to a set of cars parked in the metered spaced by the road. He dipped behind one and waved the cat over.

xxxxxThe brick beast flung more bricks until finally, finally one nailed the boy directly in the stomach. The rock monster chortled and giggled with success, clapping its ogreish hands, causing pebbles and chips to fly everywhere.

xxxxxBut suddenly the older senshi, the blonde one had started yelling again, and the boy had disappeared under some cars. Frustrated, the rock monster was getting quite tired of all this jumping around. It let out an angry roar that seemed to say, "Let's end this." Of course, they were just noises. Monsters couldn't talk.

xxxxxThe rock monster, in a stroke of cleverness, knocked over one of the cars, causing a domino effect of toppling cars, headed straight where the chibi senshi was hiding. Of course, cars tip over slowly. Metal crunched on metal, and while the cars weren't totaled (cars were much stronger than that, right?) quite a bit of the metal was scratched up from landing on pavement.

xxxxxTwo beady eyes stared back at the bigger senshi, chortling because of his success in destroying more machinery. That made her made, didn't it?

For a brief moment, ********* followed the boy to his new hiding place. She did feel a bit bad about causing him to get hit, but at the same time, he was bound to get hit sooner or later. This weird monster definitely seemed to have a smashing problem.

In a hurried tone, the tailless feline almost commanded "Put me on your shoulder, then get us to higher ground. I'll tell you what you need to do when we get there. Hurry, this isn't a safe place!" If it wasn't obvious before, it was becoming increasingly more obvious as the sound of metal upon metal seemed to draw closer. ********* ears couldn't help but try to flatten themselves against her skull.

The blonde was bleeding pretty good, but her blood kept pumping. However, it was difficult to tell which made her more angry. The fact the cat had once again awakened a senshi that was most likely still in grade school, or how this monster had created all of these ruined vehicles. Either way, this rock monster was getting her attentions and all of her bottled up rage. Rather than leap out at the beast, the blonde charged in by foot. It would be best if she remained grounded for now, so she wouldn't get caught by surprise by more bricks. Letting out what seemed like a war cry, the teen ducked in close to the monster.

That cat better know what the hell she's doing!

With a deep breath, she then called out "Show me what ya got, Rocks-fer-brains!!"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 20, 2011 5:32 pm

Ixion listened intently to the cat’s instructions. Popping up, just barely visible over the hood of their current hiding spot, the boy looked around for higher ground. There weren’t too many options. If they ran passed the rock-monster and far over to the left, there was a sloping hillside with a large fountain at its summit. The other option was to run back through the parking lot towards the auditorium. But, that route would take the powered individuals too close to civilians; the function that Sam’s mother was catering was still going on. Risk themselves or civilians; Ixion chose the former.

Picking up *********, Chibi Ixion waited anxiously for the right moment to run by the rock monster. Tossing ********* up onto his shoulder, he took his chance when Iris started to attack the monster again. His ran as fast as he could behind the monster, hopefully unnoticed.

xxxxxRock monster was not a happy rock monster. These stupid, small, lithe beings kept dashing around haphazardly with no direction whatsoever. If only they would just sit still. It was aggravating, having to deal with them both. The rock monster wasn't exactly ... bright ... It didn't have the capability to focus on one at a time. It hit what was moving. It was instinct.

xxxxxSlamming it's fists down, it prepared for it's "last attack" if you will. It picked up two slabs of concrete and threw them at either senshi. It landed just a hair short of the chibi senshi, to which the rock monster responded with a loud roar. It was a wonder the civilians hadn't heard the monster yet. The second slab however, just grazed the older senshi's leg. It wasn't seriously, much to the monsters dismay, but it would certainly leave a scratch.

xxxxxRock monster's beady eyes followed the boy and cat up the hill. Just what were they up to? It didn't matter. What mattered was crushing these things.

xxxxxIt then glared at the older girl. She was becoming quite the pest, wasn't she? Best to eliminate her.

xxxxxSoon.

********* was scooped up and placed on her new (but temporary) perch. The ride itself was obviously a bumpy one, and the cat made sure to cling on as best as she could so it was one less thing for Ixion to worry about. However, even now, she was pretty considerate, only using her claws against his clothing and not to dig into his shoulder. Green eyes managed to catch what Sailor Iris was doing, as well as what the monster was doing as well. Perhaps this was the only reason why the rock beast narrowly missed the child.

"Move slightly to the left here," she navigated just prior to the concrete being chucked in their direction.

It was a bit of a relief when the concrete missed them, though ********* poor fur frizzed up something terrible with how close a call it was. However, she couldn't afford to be spooked at a time like this. She needed to help Ixion. Figuring they were far enough away, the feline then gave the boy more to work with.

"I hope you have a good throwing arm. You'll need it! Hold out your hand... doesn't matter which one... and call out 'Ixion Coal Rush'... Once you've done that much, I'll tell you what to do from there!" The cat nodded her head one whole time, accented with the jingle of her bell.

It was definitely proximity that had done her in. She was in really close, so even when she saw the enemy preparing to attack, it was harder to get out of the way. She did jump back slightly, but the slab landed in front of her, slightly to the side. It was just enough to scrape up her knee. It looked just as gnarly as the injury on her elbow. "SON OVA' B*TCH!!!" She was at least able to land on her feet again. And though her leg complained bitterly about the abuse it was undergoing, the senshi wasn't about to stop here. No. She charged right back in again.

"It's time t'end this!" she shouted, her fist beginning to glow as she drew closer.

Ixion followed ********* directions surprisingly well, zig-zaging off to the left just before the concrete came crashing down behind them. Ixion was rattled by his near crushing, but relieved that he wasn’t smashed to pieced by the slab of concrete.

When they reached the top of the hill, Ixion pulled ********* loose from his fuku and set her down on the grass.

An unabashed smirk crossed Ixion’s face as he flexed his right arm. “I’m not bad.” The boy stook a stance, feet spread apart and hand held out; he was all set to call upon his power for the first time. “Ixion Coal Rush.”

When he finished, a large black ball appeared in his hand. The lump was a piece of coal roughly the size of his fist. Looking down at it, Ixion’s cocky grin fell. That was it? His magic power was summoning a ROCK? A lousy small rock against a giant monster made of rocks!?

‘Great, we’re doomed’ he thought.

The dark-haired senshi looked at *********, a bit forlorn. His excitement was dampened by his disappointing magic. “What should I do with this?”
