With the move hitting, GBL would begin his assault. Not on the legs, oh no. he would reach out to snatch Brandon's wrist and try a quick spin-around to wrench it and slam the arm on the mat. Attacking multiple parts seems to be his strategy.

and now Brandon has his shot. as GBL grabs his wrist, brandon shoots out his other hand and attempts to grab GBL's hand to jerk him downwards into a triangle choke

Someone knew their submissions. GBL believed he was being unpredictable with his offense, but that wasn't the case. With his free arm, GBL would try to keep a leg from locking around him as he tried to break away from the hold.

plan A didn't work, so time to switch to plan B. GBL blocks one leg, so Brandon attempts to twist around and put weight on GBL's arm with his free leg, trying to bring him down to the mat to attempt his D-Lock submission hold (Crossface)

Well, this was a pickle he did not like. Being caught up, he was unable to escape the crossface. Thankfully, he did know the hold due to the Hangsman Clutch II, but it didn't help that he had to work his way out of this one. A hand would shoot up to work at the hands that were gripped around his face. He had to try and pry himself free.

Brandon tries desperately to keep the hold in a little longer and wrench back, wanting to inflict as much damage on the icon as possible

Unable to break the hold, he had to resort to another move. Feeling himself wrenched back, he would try to turn his body enough to flip over and attempt what could be a 'pin', but he knew that there was no pin-falls. Just a try to break the hold.

this is an awkward position to try to hold in a submission hold in, so Brandon releases the hold and rolls away, rising to a crouch and watching GBL while hoping to see the effects of his submission finisher

After the release, GBL rolled himself away and got himself to the ropes. He pulled himself up to his feet with one hand to the ropes and the other hand rested on the back of his neck. He rolled his neck around, trying to loosen it up and get the pain to ease. That wasn't pleasant at all. No matter. It wasn't over yet.

Brandon charges in, seeming to want to aim high. at the last second he goes low, aiming a dropkick at GBL's right knee

A familiar tactic was used by Brandon that GBL actually used in his last match. GBL would spin around on his left foot as he would avoid the kick before performing a standing moonsault to finish up a rather unique counter to a drop kick.

GBL crashes down onto Brandon after Brandon has missed a low dropkick, knocking the wind out of him

After the moonsault, GBL sat up on his knees, looking down at his opponent. Knowing who he opponent was, he had to be careful whether he was standing or grounded. For now he would grab Brandon by the head and aim a couple of shots to his forehead.

After the moonsault, Brandon isn't capable of defending himself and finds himself hit in the head repeatedly

After a few punches, GBL let go mainly to get the ref off of his case. Running a hand through his hair, GBL knelt down and motioned for Brandon to get up.
