"You mean like sweets and jerky?" He had completely overlooked them, since he didn't often eat those. He didn't even like sweet things and jerky was tough, but he thought Rose had a point. They really would need food that could last a long time if they were going on a journey. "There are things like those too."
When they walked up the hill, he wished he could just fly over it instead. He didn't think it was fun at all.
After they got over it, they were home free. On top of the hill, he could see the whole of Catalia Glades. "Wow!" He couldn't help but be amazed. When he looked down, he could see the field where he used to live. He pointed down at it and said, "See! Do you see that? We're almost there!"

"Oh, great!" Rose shouted, grinning widely. Candy! No sweeter words can be said. She eagerly picked up her pace as the two of them went up the hill.
When they reached the peak, Rose took in a deep breath as she saw the view. A cold wind blew from behind her and Rose closed her eyes and shuddered. Since winter was approaching it had been getting colder. When the breeze past, Rose opened her eyes to see the view. "Oh!" She gasped, she could see for miles! "This place is huge! I can see it now; there are adventures to be had here!" Rose said excitedly.

Souppi liked Rose's enthusiasm. He heard bright eyes and bushy tails took you far in the adventuring world.
While Rose had insisted she wasn't a little lady, Souppi couldn't help but treat her like one. When he saw her shivering, his fur bristled and his ears were held down against his head. He had to try to warm her up. So, he went closer to her. As close as he could get without them touching.
"There sure are!" Souppi said in agreement. "And we're almost to where the food is too." After that, he headed down the hill and stopped when he saw an orange gladier sleeping on the ground next to a washbasin and a pile of fruits and vegetables.
They were finally there. Souppi saw that Livewire was still sleeping soundly. It was as if Souppi had never left at all. He was glad for that. He didn't want to deal with him anymore, after all. He stuck his head up, marched right past him, and headed straight to the food.
Souppi remembered Livewire would always keep the food right next to him while he slept to deter thieves. He figured they'd be too frightened of waking him up to even think of stealing anything. The fresh food was kept out in the open, while the preserved food was stored right underneath it buried underground.
Now, Livewire had a pile of apples, grapefruit, pears, pumpkins, turnips, and parsnips next to him. Souppi gently scooted the pile off to the side and began digging. "Please come dig with me. We'll be able to get to the candy faster that way."
