Riley leaned back on her heels as her arms folded against her. She sighed brusquely, before nodding her head. It's not your fault I guess. I just wish I had been there. No one hurts my Jericho. The last sentence was said in a growl, and her eyes finally managed to flash red for a moment before the knock on the door had them back to their normal white.

She moved to open the door, as she'd taken responsibility for making the mistake of not telling Malodore about the lava pit first. When she did, her eyes instantly softened at the sight of it. Her hand, however, lifted - palm faced forward in a halting motion.

Wait. I forgot to tell you. Jericho has a lava pit. Will it disturb you? We can go somewhere else if it will. I apologize for not telling you on the phone.

Whether or not it was his fault was debatable. He didn't have to be so damn persistent over getting the damn Kushi for a snack. Nor did he have to keep up the fight once the first few blows were made. His stubbornness and temper had gotten the best of him.

Before Jericho could really reply though, he head the knocking on his door which was followed by the sound of the Plague Doctor's voice. Quietly, he just stood by and waited to hear the verdict on the lava.

"A... lava pit?" Malodore blinked, surprised, but it shook its head. "So long as there is sufficient floorspace that I need not stand at the edge of it, I should be all right. Grazie per la vostra preoccupazione."

It lifted its bag. "Is Jericho within? I can begin my examination at once." Its sleeves also seemed more weighted down than usual. Evidently, Malodore had packed for any eventuality!

Assured that Malodore would be fine, she opened the door fully and gestured for it to enter. Yes, he's right here actually. She would close the door behind Malodore when it was inside, and then moved to eye Jericho critically. He's got some bruising on his face, but his finger and wing look like they need the most immediate care. That, and this gem right here - she tugged at his shirt, batting his hand away. That could probably use some help.

She didn't like looking at the little hole in his chest, and her eyes darkened slightly when she revealed it. That really looked like it had hurt.. and she really wanted to get revenge on whoever had done it to him.

Seeing Mal now, Jericho waved a little apprehensively before wincing lightly as his other hand was batted away from his chest. Looking at Riley as she gave the rundown of his injuries, he took note of the shift in her eyes. He just hoped that she wouldn't end up doing something rash... The dragon didn't want her to end up badly hurt either.

"Ah... what do you need me to do?" he asked while shifting his uninjured wing. He hadn't really been treated for anything in this form before and while he's seen it happen with others, he wasn't completely familiar with how things were going to go down.

Malodore looked taken aback at Jericho's state. "Vivere timore... what happened?" It strode over to the dragon's side with only one sidelong glance at the lava pool, though it studiously remained as far away from it as it could get while still examining the patient.

The chest wound received its attention first. "This will need to be cleaned," it said. "With water, then with a sanitizing solution." It put its bag down on the ground. "In all honesty, I would recommend you go to the school nurse... these injuries are more serious. Not grave, but... serious." Its gaze traveled over the odd angle of one finger, over the tears in the wings, and it shook its head.

"..I got into a fight..." the dragon muttered before frowning as Malodore suggested that he go see the nurse, "I'd rather not have to explain this to Cricket.. I don't need a detention on top of this."

While Jericho wasn't sure if the Nurse would rat him out, he didn't really want to take any chances. Watching the Plague doctor for the moment, he went on to remove his shirt as it'd probably make things easier for it to access his injuries. The process was a little painful as he had to shift his injured wing around to be able to get the article off of him all the way.

"Do you need me to sit or something..?"

Malodore... well, it couldn't really frown, but the emotions were still there. "I... understand. Va bene, I will do what I can to treat you here." It was, in its opinion, best to go to to the best care available... but it was hardly going to let Jericho's wounds go untreated! "Take whichever position you find most comfortable," it said, distractedly, as it put down its bag and studied the injuries. Its priority should be setting things in place, then...

"Riley, could you get me a quantity of clean, warm water to make a rinse for the chest wound? In two containers, please - the larger in a vessel that will pour, the smaller in a flask or similar vessel." It crouched to remove things from its bag. "I will mix a sterilizing solution to clean the wounds. It will sting," it added, glancing up at Jericho.

Of course, Malodore. She murmured, but as she looked around she realized - unlike her fully furnished dorm area, Jericho had nowhere with running water. Or containers, for that matter. She briefly looked at his treasure pile to consider using something there.. but the possibility of unsanitary surfaces cut that short.

I'll have to get something from the dorm bathrooms, then, If you'll excuse me, I'll be right back. She'd have to get one of the gnomes - she shuddered as she walked out the door when she thought of it - to get her containers. She would try to control herself.

Try.

Nodding to Malodore, Jericho carefully set himself on the ground so he could sit. Since this was likely going to hurt some, he figured he best be in a position where he couldn't move... as much.

"Thank you by the way.." he said while glancing away. At the mention of containers, he looked over at his treasure pile. Well, he did have some small treasure boxes and that one jewel encrusted boot. Though, it seemed that Riley had some other ideas as she left the room without either of these things.

"On the plus side... you get more experience from this?" he weakly grinned at the Plague Doctor.

"I do, though the Nurse could doubtlessly do a better job. She is most skilled," Malodore said, feeling a little bit wistful at the thought. Ah, well. It would be an interesting challenge to fix this up. "Tears to the wing fabric, chest wound, a... hmm. Broken finger... well, that we can tend to right now. The break appears to be clean." It dipped into its bag again for a small splint and some gauze. "The finger, at least, I would encourage you to show to the nurse at a later time. If it does not heal properly, it will need to be re-broken. Also, I would warn you to avoid shifting while healing. The structural changes inherent in transformation may cause additional damage..."

Nodding, Jericho considered this option. Getting a broken finger was a little more of a 'normal' injury than getting clawed in the back or stabbed in the chest. He could come up with an alternate story more easily for that.

"Alright," he agreed as he held his hand up for Mal so it could take a better look at the injury. The dragon really did not like the idea of having to have his finger broken again later on to make sure it was set right. And while he wasn't too happy about the warning against shifting, he understood the reasoning behind it.

"Hm." Malodore studied the injury carefully. "This is a clean break - whoever did this knew what they were doing. This was deliberately snapped, was it not? Not a blunt-trauma break, I don't think. Not messy enough for that." The plague doctor made sure the bones were aligned properly before putting the splint in place and beginning to bandage. It could finish this up without the sterilizing solution, since there were no breaks in the skin here. Thankfully.

Riley had returned after some time, with a spouted bowl filled with water as well as a small glass. It was all the gnomes could give her on such short notice, despite her aggressive coercion. She set them both down near Malodore, and sat down beside Jericho. Her eyes were focused on the finger as it was bandaged. She breathed softly, visibly calming once Jericho was being taken care of. Still, she had an eerie, discomforting silence about her. Her eyes seemed distant, as if something inside that brain of hers was hard at work.

Malodore had it the nail there, though Jericho didn't say anything in response to that. But, if anything, it was probably a good thing that it was a clean break. Most likely it'd take longer for his finger to heal otherwise.

Gritting his teeth as the doctor worked with his finger, he tried to stay as still as possible.

When Riley returned, he looked over towards her. It appeared that something was on her mind.

"Are you alright?"
