"My ego comes in to play because I don't like being wrong, being hurt, or even showing it, but baby, you've got the power to hurt me more than anyone 'cause I've opened the doors to the most fragile parts of me for you. Heart and ego. You don't realize that I have never gotten one sliver of genuine affection from even my own parents so I stopped trying to care, because it hurt to do so and not have it returned. I've taken a chance on you, and come to love you," at least he was pretty sure that's what love was supposed to be. He declared it to be so, so it was.
Billy realized his voice had risen again, making a rather undignified rant at pink eyes awash with worry and fear bore in to Ladon.
"I might not act it but damn it, baby you scare me. It scares me that you hold so much power over me, and that I've given you that power..."
Even scarier was that this was no lie. Billy just hadn't realized it until now.

A hand snapped on Billy's wrist as he dragged him back to the door behind him. Whipping the door open, he called out. "We'll be right back, Aree and STOP SCRATCHING YOUR STITCHES!" He shouted, and then shut the door quickly behind him. As it shut, he looked around to see that the hallway was clear and then turned to face the pink-eyed boy. Without waiting, he leaned up and pressed into a soft kiss.

For whatever reason, Billy allowed himself to be dragged out the door. Billy watched Ladon carefully as he looked to see if anyone was around. Billy was waiting for the argument to continue. The kiss was unexpected, but certainly the more preferred response. Billy decided to monopolize on it.
returning the kiss, and hand rose to cup the boy's cheek - fingers raking through hair, then breathlessly, "I take it I finally said something right?"
Billy didn't really care for a proper reply. He wanted another kiss. He wasn't going to just go in and take it though. The first one had been the first really assertive move Ladon had ever made, at least by Billy's view of things. That fact alone coming from someone not known to act so suddenly, much less where romantic actions were concerned, gave Billy a thrill. He wanted to see if Ladon would do it again.

The conversation had been completely sidetracked in Ladon's mind by three little words and he pulled away from the other boy to look at him, eye sparkling as he looked up to Billy. Sure, he was still upset with him, but that could wait. Right now he was swept up in a pleasant revelation and hearing it for the first time from someone had just been overwhelming. It was a clear Save on Billy's part. "Do you really love me?"

Did he? As far as Billy was concerned he did.
Billy was generally comfortable around Ladon, finding his company enjoyable - save for the argument. Ladon was definitely a unique minority in his ideals - a rare, precious, gem that Billy could be proud of, polished and worn. Ladon was, from what Billy had observed and gathered, a very devoted, knowledgeable person, responsible, perhaps not as naive and innocent as Billy had once liked to believe... Billy found himself searching to please him or finding little things that made the one think of the other, and he found that it was always with fondness, no ulterior motives. Billy had become attached and possessive, not wanting to lose this comfortable feeling. Of course, the revelation that Ladon was Wolframite threw much up in the air. Up-heaved some of that comfort, but now that they knew...it would work out. Somehow. Billy wanted it to work.
"I love you, Ladon," The words rolled off like the sigh someone let out when they just realized they'd been holding a breath, and with it that very same feeling of relief. That hand that had not left Ladon's cheek brushed that dark hair back.
He didn't ask for confirmation of reciprocation, because he didn't have any doubts in its validity, although the part about 'I'm still trying to figure myself out' stuck out in his mind, and there was perhaps the minute fear that the Love Ladon had for him was not the same romantic love that Billy thought he had. But if that were so, then Ladon would not have kissed him. Ladon had kissed him. Somehow that was important to that line of thought. Either way, Billy didn't want to think that he was afraid, even if he had stated that Ladon did have the power to cause the big bad Billy Roadinger fear.

Now it was his turn to grin, and he beamed at the other boil, jump up to warp his arms around him. Sidetracked, he was dismissing all other issues for the greater moment, the greater reward of knowing that someone loved him, and for the first time, someone did. This was exactly what he wanted and had been hoping for and he wanted to call up Paris and go 'HAH!' right back to him for even doubting Ladon's feelings for the boy. He KNEW he had been in love with him, that they could fall in love, and it didn't matter that they weren't together for that long. He KNEW it was genuine. It just had to be, and he held onto his boyfriend tightly, completely forgetting all other subjects he wanted to address. Why sour the moment?!
Before he even caught himself, he held tightly to that moment. It slipped out without thinking. "I love you too."

Scratch scratch scratch.
Aree was, by now, seated comfortably on the couch and taking full advantage of the opportunity to scratch the hell out of her stitches. Her Captain and Lieutenant, fellow members of the elite rebel forces of Earth, were in her kitchen professing gay love to one another. Aree had done her best to tone the two young men out, even through the thin wooden door, but the apartment was small and... well, suffice to say she knew far more about the one-eyed Captain than she felt comfortable with.
Just as their ooey gooey love fest reached it's peak, Aree's voice shattered the moment.
“I have nothing against homosexuals, gentlemen, but now you two are just being gay.”
Scratch scratch fork.

The grin that broke out on Billy's face was one of genuine amusement at the voice that traveled through the walls. He had no choice but to fire back, "haters gonna hate," and though he said it to Aree, he was looking at Ladon with warm amusement. Yes, he was the cool cat again, and though he probably wouldn't normally say such things to the one female he knew who actually had his respect, the situation and time fit. Besides. This little drama and love fest had afforded her some much-needed time to scratch her itch-- ...stiches.

Ladon was learning an important rule that many couples faced. Thin walls meant a total lack of privacy and romance and when he was reminded that Aree was nearby, he died. Bowing his head, he turned every shade of magnetic, pink, and red, in the entire spectrum of mortified colors to be had, and groaned. "I forgot she was here." He whispered, knowing she could at least not have heard that. Still, the fact she probably heard EVERYTHING ELSE made him want to grab his coat and run back to his own apartment.
Stepping away, he looked up at the boil. "Go and have your meeting. I'm going to go slip into the kitchen and……..not die." He said, opening the door and letting Bismuthite, Billy, his boyfriend inside. "..and you're not off the hook." He whispered back, stepping inside.

Billy smirked as he stepped inside, and said in a volume that would definitely be overheard, "That's alright. You can whip me for being such a bad boy later." And then with that smirk, he left Ladon to his own devices in the kitchen - although not before rescuing his hat, lest the boy decide to murder his precious - and had his little meeting with Aree, talking over whatever it was he was here to talk about in the first place.
He certainly looked forward to whatever conversations would later stem between himself and Ladon thereafter. You know. Not being off the hook and all. If it ended in kisses though, he could handle that.
