Quentin left his last class and walked to his locker puting textbooks he wouldn't need for the weekend and retreiving a fairly thick book from the top shelf of his locker. Quentin was usually optimistic about learning so it only made since that he had a soft spot for books. The book was called the history of dragons and it was really starting to give him some helpful information about the characteristics of a dragon and some weaknesses. He walked past Luna deep in thought as he held on to the book and then overheard her muttering to herself. he turned around in surprise. "Whats this about burning something?"

Quentin smirked in amusement from her reply but then his attitude shifted when she noticed the book. He blushed a little feeling embaraessed that he was reading about what others would think a mythical creature. " i've been reading it for while....i'm about halfway." he tried to move the book out of her view. "its not important." he said trying to change the subject. " do you want me to walk you home?" he asked shyly.

"Oh cmon on, i can protect you from more then just a tree." he said defensively. Sometimes he wished luna knew his true potential as a warrior of the knights but he would be thrown out if he told anyone. "hey wait!!." he ran after her out of the front of school. "you cheater." he joked and continued walking down the front steps of the school.

"hm, i guess your right, maybe i should start calling you shorty..." he rubbed his chin as he thought it over smiling to himself. "shorty...yes that works out nicely." he looked up at the clouds smiling. when he moved his head back to eye level he looked at luna but saw a guy across the street. he reqonized him immedietly as one of the knights but just dressed in normal clothes. The man was watching him and luna as they turned a corner towards her house. Does he need me and the others already? its still the afternoon.... Quentin just shoved off the thought. he would go meet up with them after he walked luna to her house.

"well, your short to meee." he teased. he stared at the ground thinking of a good answer to her question. "Um well...I'm gonna read a lot." he said holding up the book. "and probably hang out with some friends, its too bad you can't come." he lied and smiled at her. Quentin didn't like lying to luna but it just had be done. "i know your having family issues but are you doing anything else for the weekend too?"

"ah you better not, it wouldn't be safe for girl like you." he said worrisomely. He reluctantly waved her goodbye and walked off. immedietly when he turned the corner a older man stood in his path folding his arms. It was an older member of the knights and he didn't seem very impressed by Quentin. "I knew it, your just a little brat that picks up on any girl you meet." he rolled his eyes and began walking away. Quentin raised his eyebrow and followed him without commenting. Quentin thought about the dragon the knights always told him about. this would be his first time seeing the dragon and actually going up against it.

Quentin didn't feel like talking as he walked next to the tall form of Todd. Geez, why is he always checking up on me when the full moon comes around, it not like i don't know where the meeting is held... he thought and seemed to go back to the memories of his training and sparring with the others. They sure picked on him a lot back when he had first pledged his loyalty to the knights. He was determined to show them, especially the leader how much he has improved. He smirked to himself with a new surge of confidence forming in him and continued his walk with Todd to the edge of town where a hilly forest started. They had walked awhile before they finally reached the camuflaged fortress of the knights. Part of it was underground so when someone looked at it, it just looked like a wide mound of dirt and covered with lots of bushes and some fallen trees. Todd entered without carrying to see if Quentin had followed him in. Todd had stayed silent the whole way there. Quentin was used to this though and followed down the stairs into a hallway where several rooms branched off from the hallway. He entered the main room, largest of them all. The leader gave a speech then went to chosing what members would have the privilege of taking on the dragon. With no surprise Quentin was chosen a long with 5 or 6 others. after that was settled he had to put his fighting clothes and other equptment he would need.
