A smile spread across her face as he spoke, and she extended her hand to shake his. "Very good. Welcome to Team Rocket. And no - if there are they didn't give me anything of the sort," she said with a slight wave of her hand after the obligatory handshake.
"You'll start as a trainee and work your way up. Trainee work is menial and isn't meant to be pleasant, but I'm sure you'll do fine. Once you're promoted to grunt rank - lovely name, I know - you'll have more freedoms and responsibilities, and will be allowed to go on important missions. Lucas and I got to go on one with the team earlier this week," she said nonchalantly as she pulled out a couple pokeballs, releasing Zeus, Blue, and Xina. If they were going to be standing here talking for a while, she may as well let out the group to get a chance for fresh air. Especially Xina, the poor thing didn't get out as much as the others.

"Team Rocket, hu?" Aulus clasped Claire's hand briefly before folding his arms across his chest and frowning thoughtfully. "I guessed it was something big but not that big... That big fancy ball that happened a while ago; I heard Team Rocket talked about in connection with the mess that happened there. Is it true?" Team Rocket. Team effing Rocket. He wasn't sure what to make of that information right now, he wasn't sure what to make of any of this really. He'd made his choice though, and while he was confused and uncertain about the future he didn't regret his decision. Not yet. He hoped that didn't change...
Well, it might while he was stuck doing menial stuff as a trainee, but he was in no doubt that he wouldn't remain at that rank for long. He was good, he knew that, and he was going to make sure that everyone else did too. Team Rocket. Wow. This was not what he'd been expecting from this conversation.

"The PokeBall?" She asked, eyebrows raised slightly. "I guess that was a big deal, wasn't it? And yes, that was us. I trust you won't go bragging about it or anything to anyone not in Team Rocket, but yes. I was there, actually - that's how I broke my arm." Odette clacked her beak in a displeased manner, remembering the incident. Stupid explosion that sent her tumbling through the air... But Claire soothed her with a stroke of her crest as Alexina trotted over gracefully before sitting on her haunches near her owner, peering up at the scarred man curiously.

"Mmfh, of course not..." As he noticed the glaceon Aulus trailed off, kneeling down to study the striped creature intently. "Well you're new," he said to the ice type, a slight smile tugging at his lips, "aren't you lovely? Your trainer certainly knows how to pick her pokemon." How did Claire get her hands on all of these lovely pokemon?... Oh wait. Team Rocket. Of course. "Did you win her from a poker game too?" he asked after a moment, looking up at Claire with a slight smirk. If these were the kind of pokemon being in Team Rocket got you he was definitely glad he'd accepted her offer.

At his attention the petite Glaceon moved forward to rub against his leg in a very feline-esque manner. "Laa.."
"Actually she's not," Claire said with a light chuckle. If there was one way to put him in a good mood, it was to show him pretty pokemon. "I had her since before we met in the mall. Found her terrorizing an ice cream shop, and I gave her some of my ice cream and she wouldn't stop following me so I kept her. I think she must've had a fancy owner before or something, from her coat and behavior. Plus a couple moves she knows were learned from TMs, not naturally," she informed him, reaching down to scratch the ice-type behind the ears fondly. "That's why I don't let her out in populated areas. Don't need some overweight woman waddling over yelling about me being a thief, do I? Even though I did nothing of the sort." Wasn't her fault if the dumb empty-headed git lost their treasured pokemon, or if said treasured pokemon preferred her over them. "Don't worry, there's plenty of chances for you to get gorgeous pokemon. Team Rocket doesn't need to use generations of breeding down to get desired coat patterns. That's what science is for," she said with a chuckle. The labs, always the labs.

"Hu, well that makes sense," Aulus agreed with a shrug as he straightened up again. "When you steal pokemon as part of your living, getting in trouble for stealing one that you hadn't actually stolen would be galling. Deliciously ironic from somebody else's point of view perhaps, but no good for you..." What science is for? He liked the sound of science equalling amazing pokemon.
"I'm starting to like the sound of Team Rocket," Aulus said, the beginnings of a grin tugging at his lips. "When do I move into my quarters?" He hoped he didn't have to share with anyone... though he couldn't imagine that trainees would get their own room. Well, that was fine, he'd get some personal space wherever he was put, even if he had to beat a few people up to get it.

"Ironic yes," she agreed with a chuckle, "and it would be terrible. And I'm glad you're starting to like it. You'll be in it for quite a while now," unless he wanted to end up at the bottom a lake somewhere, of course.
"And you'll move in immediately. You'll start out in the trainee dorms and share a room with someone, no idea who, until you finish training. That typically takes about two months, and then you'll move again into grunt dorms. They're a bit nicer but you still have to share a room. It really isn't too bad, though, and if you're promoted to agent then you get your own room." And it was absolutely glorious. "Do you have stuff laying about anywhere in Kodo or do you keep it all with you?" The latter, probably, since she'd gathered before that he was unemployed with no stable income nor sleeping arrangements, but she gave him the opportunity to answer for himself.

"Oh, nothing much," Aulus snorted. "I've got a mansion or two I need to pick up, a stud farm of prize winning rapidash, a successful chain of vegan restaurants, six caravans, two water parks, a small museum dedicated to odd specimens of pidgey, and a private aeroplane." Sarcastic jesting finished with, he made a sweeping gesture towards his bike. "What you see is what you get; I travel light... Where will we be going, anyway? I can't imagine a big military base is easy to hide." He hoped he got to keep his bike; it wasn't the very end of the world he supposed but he had become fond of it. Surely having people who could drive whatever kind of transport well would be an asset, he could think of no good reason for them to confiscate it... Still, he'd find out soon enough he supposed.

"Ah, your mansions and farms and the like will be exceedingly easy to move, we have molecular transporters and have developed teleportation," she retorted with her own heavy dose of sarcasm and a chuckle, but moved on to the actual question. "That's good, less things to move. Actually it's in the middle of the desert, so I'm not sure how well you could ride that over sand..." Could he ride it on sand at all? She had a vague memory of someone mentioning motorcycles didn't do well on sand, but maybe that was just her head messing with her.
"I don't know how much time you'll have for riding it as a trainee, honestly, that work keeps you pretty busy. It's not horrible but it's definitely not spectacular by any means, but it gets better and you get the chance to go into more specialized areas. For example," she said, watching as Blue pounced on Zeus and started chewing his ear, the Pikachu looking pointedly displeased, "I work in surveillance and intelligence gathering, sort of like espionage. Lucas was an assassin for many years, but now he works on designing and creating guns. Try not to make him too angry, by the way, because I don't think he'd hesitate to kill you." As if he needed to be told this, especially at this point. Not like they were allowed to kill coworkers, but still. She didn't want Aulus going around purposefully upsetting Lucas, especially when he had a concussion.

"Well that's convenient," Aulus replied mildly, raising an eyebrow at Claire. Now that he knew why she'd been acting the way she had, he felt a bit more relaxed around her. He knew what she'd wanted from him, and so now she had it there wasn't any need to get too concerned about her. So long as he kept their relationship to a casual acquaintance everything should be alright...
Hu, desert. "This bike would get stuck in no time," he replied with a frown. "Tires are wrong, suspension is wrong; pretty much everything is wrong. Specialised bikes can be excellent in the desert, but this isn't a specialised bike... I suppose I'll have to leave it somewhere." Damn. Looked like he wouldn't be keeping it after all, not without heavy modification that he certainly wouldn't have the pull to get done to it. If TR had any desert bikes he might be able to get the use of one he supposed, which was something at least.
"As for Lucas," Aulus rolled his eyes, "I'm pretty sure there's nothing I could do to make him hate me any more than he already does; as I said he did swear to kill me if I so much as went near you again, but I can't imagine him following through on that threat... He is very protective of you," Aulus added pointedly, "is he your boyfriend or something?" The idea made him want to shudder, and vaguely annoyed too. Creepy over-protective old perv; who was he to decide who could talk to who?

She knew next to nothing about vehicles, so his description of what was wrong went right over her head. But either way she shrugged, studying it. It was a very handsome bike.. "You could always leave it in a parking garage in Camphoreon or something," she suggested with a shrug. "But then if you wanted to use it you'd have to get there somehow.. Hmm." That would take some thinking.
At his suggestion of Lucas being her boyfriend, she made a face that was a cross between a grimace and absolute disbelief. "What? Are you serious? Augh," a real grimace now, "not Lucas. He's old enough to be my dad. No, he's.. Well," she paused to think of a proper explanation, reaching up to run her fingers through her thick hair, "he's sort of like a big brother. An over-protective big brother." There, that was it. "That's why I'm not at all surprised at how he acted when you met him. But it'll be fine, I'll talk to him. He still won't like you because you're a guy and you're talking to me, but he won't kill you. Well, as long as you don't do anything to me he won't. If you do, well, like I said before he likely won't hesitate to kill you immediately." He was even going to go to Sinnoh at one point to kill her ex, as stupid an idea as it was. She appreciated the sentiment, of course, but sometimes Lucas just didn't think.

"Oh? Well, that makes sense I suppose." Crazy big brothers were about as common as crazy boyfriends, and he supposed Team Rocket had to become your family really. While it might be possible to contact home, they would be so out of touch if your life that it would be hard, if not impossible, to stay close. "As for 'doing anything'," Aulus made air quotes, "as I told him, I have no intention of hurting you. So long as I don't hurt you, I don't see that anything we do together is his business." Erk. That had sounded off, especially after he'd just been told Lucas wasn't her boyfriend. "Like this I mean," he added with a scowl, "talking, or whatever."
Change the subject.
"I don't know about a garage, I'd have to pay for that... I suppose I could leave it in Ambergris somewhere. It might get nicked, but it might get nicked wherever I leave it, and at least Ambergris is closer than Camphoreon, and free." Plus now that he was in Team Rocket a large number of the criminal types roaming around would be his allies; he suspected the Team didn't take too kindly to competition.

Oh, Arceus, that was an awkward comment..
Oh, good, change of subject. "Ambergris is another good option, I think, or," she paused, the expression on her face indicating she'd just remembered something, "you could leave it in the outpost in Camphoreon. We have a small base there in the less populated area. I doubt they'd make you pay for it there." The outpost - that's where she met Will. Will was Lance. The idea irked her, but she knew how easy it was to change looks and blend in with a different crowd. At least they kicked his a**.

"Oh, that sounds like a good idea," Aulus nodded, "and I suppose anyone there who needs it can use it, so long as they pay to fix it if they trash it and fill the tank up." Team Rocket; emphasis on 'Team'. It was nice to be part of a team, even if he was right on the bottom of the ladder at the moment. He'd work his way up. He'd earn respect, rank, privilege... How had this happened? A few minutes ago he'd been driving along trying not to think about the future; now he had plans.
"Well, no sense hanging around," Aulus went on with another nod, "it's a fair drive back to Camphoreon." The sooner he dropped his bike off safely and headed to base the better. A new home, a new life, a new purpose. On the whole, he considered, it was a damn good thing that Zeus was suicidal for chocolate.

At the mention of leaving, she nodded and returned all her pokemon except Odette. With the balls clipped securely to her belt she swiftly and easily mounted the large bird, moving to a more comfortable position on her back. "Alright," she said with a grin. Oh, she loved flying. "We'll leave immediately."
