From what I understand the included plastics are some of the first sculpts from when the company started out. Yay for nostalgia? sweatdrop

Wow, those are... aweful... And the Atlas... what happened to your beefy legs?!
No Summoner/Hellraiser in that picture either.

Are those alternate names for the two premiums? If so, no those aren't included in that line up.

Are there any good sites out there with solid background info on the game and the universe it inhabits?

Received the boxed set yesterday. After a quick mosey through the contents I can't help but feel that it might be a bit overpriced for what they give you. The ah, Mechs, are s**t quality, not far off from cheap plastic soldiers bought in a bag on a black market s**t. The two premium models are much, much better though. Might play a game or two using the quick start rules this weekend if work allows for it.

Oh, I didn't see Blod's post before now. Sarna.net is essentially the wikipedia for Battletech. It's got everything you'd ever want to know there basically.

Glad I kept all of my Mech Warrior figures; plenty of Clan 'Mechs to use! I believe that the conversion was to either add ten to the points or subtract that many from the 'Mech Clicks, otherwise just remove them from their basses and pin/magnetize them for the hex basses. Shouldn't be too hard. 3nodding

********, these cheap plastics are hard to keep apart. The tutorial scenario requires you to field the Hunchback against the Enforcer. Now the Hunchback isn't a problem, the Enforcer however.. all those light bipeds look alike! talk2hand

The only good light Bipeds are the Cougar, the Raven, Uller... Oh wait, old battle tech doesn't have those. =P

I'd rather have a Bushwhacker.

Medium, and a decent one. Not nearly as capable as the Shadow Cat or Hellhound however but great for an IS mech. Again, those are too far in the future for most of the mechs on that list. ):
AC10's are good, but would rather have an LBX10 or higher. Mechs with shotguns!

I mainly like it because of Mech Warrior 3, as it was your starting 'Mech and a good one at that.

Okay, in what year does this starter set take place and when do the Clans invade?
