Her pen wobbled and wiggled as she wrote, making note of the Prince, Queen, and King. She did manage to sneak out a giggle at the mention of Azzo dressed up like a puppy when he was a kid. Her parents did dress her up every so often in animal themed costumes. Every so often she did manage to catch a glimpse of a photograph of herself in the old photo album. Lots of times, times seemed simpler then.
With a subtle sigh, she glanced to her friend. "I think you'll do fine Azzo! And I... I'll help as much as I can... I promise!" With that, she tucked her notepad away in her apron, the pen following shortly afterward, now free of the wire binding.
"Okay... I think I have an idea... um... follow me... and I'll show you what I'm thinking...kay?" She shuffled ahead slightly before turning back and silently checking to see if he was going to follow her.

Azzo grinned when Yvette said he'd do fine, "Thank you." He said with a nod of his. He appreciated the help, he couldn't do the outfits himself and Grams knitted. They wouldn't quite fit his needs this time, as he followed her looking curiously wondering what she was thinking about.
"Alright." He agreed happily, he was very interested in what Yvette was thinking. So he made sure to follow, but not too close behind her. He didn't want to seem to hover annoyingly. He hummed as he followed her, the broken arm seemed not to bother him until he actually wanted to do something involving both hands.

If there was one thing that Yvette knew, it was the inside of this particular store. In all honesty, it would have been her dream job to work here, but unfortunately they were rarely hiring. Plus, she still had to work on that whole talking louder thing. It was something that Mrs. Ortiga was constantly scolding her about. Customers at Elizabeth's Secrets would complain about how they had to strain to hear that short clerk with the dark hair. From what Mrs. Ortiga had told her in the past, speaking too quietly was considered bad customer service. Mrs. Ortiga hired Yvette as a favor to her mommy, had she been there on her own merits, she might not have gotten the job.
So there was no way a place like the store they were in right now would hire her. She shuffled along, Azzo behind her, turning every so often until she was in an aisle with all sorts of cloth on bolts. Much of the cloth had patterns on it that were quite obnoxious, not really suiting to any sewing project. However, the short girl was already at work, pushing bolts aside so she could clear a way to the plainer bolts of cloth. The girl was a master of this aisle. It probably was pretty evident why, as the sign dangling over their heads read DISCOUNT AISLE.

Azzo followed Yvette, he was probably already use to the girl's low talking as he hummed. Looking at bolts here and there, as they passed them, making a mental note occasionally of some of the colors. They'd need other things besides just costumes but the rest was pretty easy to find in other places. Like curtains, he was just getting color ideas as to what might work best for those.
When they came to stop at the Discount Aisle he pause tilted his head and nodded. Of course, he seemed to think, "Do they stack coupons with discounts here?" He asked, it seemed like a silly question probably, but he was curious knowing occasionally stores wouldn't.
He also might've had an idea for something as she shuffled through the cloths. He picked up one of the ones that was shoved to the side and chuckled when he noticed it had clowns on it. "Oh man, I didn't think they did this." He flipped it, holding it in his good hand looking at the swatch. "I wonder what people would use this one for." He could see some cute little stuffed animal made of it, and with luck the kid who got it wasn't afraid of clowns.

"Yes, coupons stack with discounts here!" The way the girl seemed to have mastered the art of sorting through the cloth, it was pretty obvious this was how the girl managed to get her own supply of cloth. Eventually she paused in her efforts when she located a rather bright royal green color. The small girl seemed to be in her element, for she was able to remove the bolt from where it was held with relatively little problem. The bolt itself was pretty big, over half her size, but like a little trooper, she managed to waddle over to the edge of the display and stand it up to wait until later.
On her trip back to where she had left off, she took a quick glance at the cloth which Azzo had located. The clowns were cute, but not something she would have liked. Without any problem, she was able to start listing off many things which could have been made out of the selected cloth. "Blanket, pillow, bed sheets, towel, general decor for a baby's room, stuffed animals, reusable totes, curtains..." She paused from her list and let out a tiny giggle.
"Should I keep going?"

Azzo was impressed, clearly by Yvette's abilities. The royal green was a lovely color, he blinked when she started listing things off that th clowns were useful for. He seemed thoughtful when she paused and asked if she needed to go on. He chuckled, "I think I get the picture. It'd just be a shame if someone was scare of them."
He paused noticing a star patterned Material. "Can we get that too?" He asked pointing at it, "I think it'd make a nice backdrop," It was shiny too so it'd reflect light. "It'd be easier than making a sky with a ton of stars on them. Might seem a bit lazy but I can't quite keep an eye on things as I normally like with a busted arm."
It seemed like a nice blue and silver, "I mean, unless you find something better?"

Her head bobbed up and down without a sound as he mentioned how he got the idea of what she was saying. It was understandable that he might not fully understand how many different common items required sewing of some sort. They were things people took for granted.
"Usually someone buys material based upon who they are sewing for..." If someone had skin that didn't look good in a particular color, then you avoided using that color in great quantities. If someone did not like a certain pattern, you did not use it. It wasn't like Yvette could really speak too much. She mostly sewed for herself. Sure, she occasionally did nice things for others, but usually when someone else they offered to pay. Such as was in this case.
So when Azzo selected something for the backdrop, Yvette took a look and smiled sweetly. "...w-well... you are the one paying for all of this, yes?" She couldn't help but note how she'd love to make some sort of sash out of the same patterned cloth. Maybe after the performances were done, she could weasel her way into getting it for her own uses.
She paused for a moment in her work to pull out a scarlet colored cloth. Once again, it was plain, but was saturated in color.

Azzo seemed to ponder as he kept looking, of course he had plans that Yvette didn't even know about with left over material. Ones that would probably make her very happy, or so he hoped. "I see," He said when she mentioned someone normally buys material based on who they're sewing for. "It must be handy having such a talent; it probably makes getting birthday and Christmas gifts easy."
He smiled, "Of course I'm paying for it. I wouldn't've asked you to help if I wasn't planning on buying them."
He paused as he tried to gauge if she liked it or not. "Besides taking advantage of friends for their kindness isn't something I enjoy doing. You were kind enough to agree to help me, so I feel it's only right to buy the material and let you have any left over that's usable."
He was looking at other reams as well, he paused at a blue cloud pattern. Sliding it off beside the stars. "Works out for both of us really. You get your name out there that you can sew, if you want. Maybe people will want to buy Yvette originals one day. And I end up with some really nice puppet outfits."

As Azzo spoke, he might have noticed as the girl's face grew progressively redder and redder and redder until she looked beet red in color. Eventually, the poor girl was forced to cease her work for a moment and steady herself by leaning against the bolts. Too much blood rushing to her head made her slightly dizzy.
"Idon'tthinkanybodywouldwanttocommissionmetosewthingsforthem....a-a-andIreallyd-d-don'tlikesewingforotherpeopleveryoften..."
The poor girl sounded like she wanted to curl up into a ball right in that very spot, but she did her very best to remain standing in place.

Azzo did actually notice, after he'd finished. He started to open his mouth and then closed it for a second, "Oh..."
He sighed, he was trying to help the girl not make her faint from sheer terror of the thought. He looked at the materials trying to think, what could he do to unembarrassed her? He frowned as he searched the materials, "Soo, what do you want to do?" He eventually asked hoping that might make the girl feel better, fishing for something, anything really.

Alas, the girl really was not going to make this easy for him. Her face was just as red as ever, and all she offered was a mumbled "...dunno..." It wasn't like she was here to do what she wanted to, she was there to help out. She was there to pick cloth for a play for puppets, that was all.
Right?

Azzo leaned against one of the tables, scratching the back of his head with his free hand. "I see." He frowned softly before smiling, "That's okay."
He chuckled, "I'm still grateful you were willing to help. I don't know many others that sew."
His eyes landed on a blue colored bolt, "What about this blue?" He asked not sure if was good enough for princess/prince clothing. Moving to tap the one he saw.

She couldn't see the new bolt of cloth. It probably had something to do with the fact her eyes were focused on the ground.
"Um..." She tried to get her eyes to glance up, but it felt as if there was lead keeping her eyes down. She sighed a bit in quiet frustration. She wanted to see. She really did. She was now curious as to whether it was a dark blue, a light blue, a bright blue, or a velvety purple-blue.
Carefully, she took 3 deep breaths before finally managing to try again. She managed to get a glimpse of perhaps the edges of the cloth. "...it's too pale..."

Azzo didn't mind the wait, he seemed to think as he glanced around the store. "Oh?" He didn't sound disappointed. Instead, he sounded curious. Eyes searching for another blue, he looked at one wondering if its too bright. Tapping it he tilted his head, "What about this one?"
Azzo was trying to get her mind off the embarrassment by trying his hand at picking bolts.

After Azzo retreated with the one bolt, her eyes fell back to the ground as if they were too heavy to keep up at a normal height. Her cheeks were no longer beet red, but they were still reasonably darker in color than they should have been.
"What about this one?"
The girl sighed a bit and this time only took two deep breathes before managing to glance up again. Her eyes lifted up a bit more and she was able to see the color perfectly. Azzo's face, not so much. "Um... the other colors might get washed out compared to that one..." Even with Yvette picking out some pretty vivid colors, this blue just stood out as too loud compared to the others.
Her eyes sank again, however, this time not fully to the ground. She certainly had a good view of Azzo's knees now.
