"I'm reading this because of YOU." he grumped and arched his shoulders. "I don't see why you are so touchy about asking....your like the prologue." He took the book after a moment though and tucked it inside his jacket.
"... So...what do you think of all the craziness in this city...people in costumes, fighting... gangs in monster suits... at least according to the news. I don't know how they think their going to explain the latest things though...flying and...rock monsters."

"Uh." Total three-sixty, there. Ever blinked at him and tried to come up with an appropriate answer. He'd talked this over with Tony some, but mostly he'd...not...mentioned it.
"I had a weird dream a bit ago." He worked his mouth at that, eyes narrowing as he considered it. Guarded, in case Zac told him he was crazy, or rolled his eyes. "I don't know. Seems like two cells in conflict, but nothing to do with us."

"...Well you looked cranky and I don't feel like a cranky dinner...we can continue later." He said with a dismissive wave. " What kind of dream?" He said frowning slightly... Elision? It couldn't be... he shouldn't be able to recognize him in uniform, but what else?
"...I think it's more than two cells...but I've seen some of them... I don't think anyone can jump like that outside of them and -movies-....about super heros." He added with a scowl as though it irritated him.

"Um. Well, in my dream it seemed like there were just the two, this crazy chick in an Indian costume beating the s**t out of Tony..." Ever made a little face at that, trying not to tense up in expectation of mockery. He shook his head just a little.
"And the guy who tried to kidnap me that one time was there, in his stupid tights." He was definitely watching Zac out of the corner of his eye, for reaction. "All lava and monsters and this giant cat and everyone in really, really dumb costumes."

He took it pretty well in stride all things considered.
"Costumed freaks landed me in the hospital once apparently...though I don't remember it..."

Ever shrugged at that, in a clueless sort of way: he didn't keep up with these things, and his experience was too limited. Add to that his contrary air and -- well. He not only didn't know, but he wasn't going to take what anyone else had to say and face value either.
"I don't know. Someone who sent a monster after me or...I really have no idea." He went quiet for a very long moment and then tagged on, "It seems like something they could keep out of the streets, though."

"I haven't really...thought about it." At all, actually. He gave Zac a puzzled sort of look and thought about it now. A very weird question, but something that was probably important to consider. The 'why's were probably key as well.

"I...uh. Well, I mean, a real place to stay would be pretty nice at the moment." He offered a bloom of a smile, charming as he could manage, at Zac. "Were you planning on buying me something?"

Dinner was something, at least. Which actually reminded him..."Just how far do we have to walk, anyway? Because all I ate today was a really shitty granola bar."
He couldn't help but tease, even in the moment of Zac giving him something for nothing. He leaned in to nudge, shoulder to shoulder, in a joking sort of way.

"You didn't think I'd give you the GOOD granola bar did you?" He fired back without missing a beat, only to stumble at the shoulder brush, it hadn't been that hard he just...more or less jumped a little at contact and gave you a suspicious stare before hurriedly glancing away again as though the look alone might perpetuate more contact.
"It's right up there...the red awning, they just added it." He said with a small shrug..."The old one well...apparently someone fell through it."

"You seem pretty up on the happenings around here." He shook his head just a little bit at Zac, eyes flashing onto the place -- and then Ever stretched out his legs to get himself there ever faster. He really was hungry, and he'd tug Zac along if he really had to.
"Why don't you tell me about the terrorists and the demons, then? If you know so much..." He twisted to blink back at Zac as he walked backward toward the place.

"You could do your own listening you know..." He replied bristling, he didn't dare get -too- in depth, it might raise flags. He was sure he couldn't be the only civilian who seemed to know a lot about the goings on. "They'll tell you about the awning inside, and just sitting -near- a coffee shop will tell you half the goings on in the city if you know how to pick through the bull."
He opened the door for Ever letting various smells of pastas, sauces, garlic and other italian foods waft out into the street in a warm wave.
"Ask a question I guess...if your REALLY interested, if I know something I'll tell you."
