Sin almost laughed in frustration so she wouldn't yell, he had been distracted? Well...at least his mind hadn't gone straight to visual drownings again. It WAS a small step in the right direction...or at least a direction of somekind. "Alright what was this burning question? If you want to know how long I can hold my breath I'll hit you." She grinned at him teasingly and then raised a brow at his actual question.
"Be friends? Well...sure...Calder you're really nice...it's not you're fault you have this problem. It WILL be your problem if you don't choose to overcome it though. If you keep trying then...I'd be happy to be your friend. Besides once you get the hang of things maybe we can go swimming together. Doing laps is much more fun with a partner to race against." She smiled and tipped her head back taking a few deep breaths.
"But first let's uhh get you to focus on saving people instead of drowning them okay? If you want we'll go have dinner after...I know of this place that has a huge tank full of floresce you sit next to, it feels just like being under water while you eat."

He smiled at the promise of friendship that, if he should get past this, he could be her friend. They could swim together when he was able, and she wouldn't mind his company. Considering she could already put up with him trying to kill her, he didn’t' see how he could ruin this – that is unless she did drown.
It was sad when she mentioned going out for dinner at what was sure to be an amazing place. "I can't go. I'm not allowed off campus either, or around big things of water. A big fish tank like that would send me to the nurse's office." He frowned, once again feeling depressed about the limits and restrictions he had placed on him as punishment. "…b-but once I get my punishment lifted, we can go them!" He didn't want to not go with her. He wanted to do fun things with his new friend. He just hoped she'd keep liking him enough to stick around. He had to impress her while he had the contract with her so that once it was gone, she wouldn't leave him.
"I'll try harder. I promise. Then we can go to that place then when I can." The eagerness in his voice was clearly that of someone who was used to being alone, and while Sin's first tactic was to pretend she was his best friend, it wasn't as hard now that he felt she could be one of a select few.

"Oh Calder...you really got yourself into a whole world of trouble huh? Well...we better get back to practicing then, don't worry we can grab something from the Cafeteria after instead." She moved to head back down to the lake. She paused and glanced over her shoulder at him, a reminder would be prudent.
"Remember ...yell at five." She shook her head hoping that he'd manage this time for better reasons then last. She slid into the water and took a deep breath sliding under with a shiver as her body tried to adjust again.
She thought of Calder's desire for friendship, he was a monster, and she already had a monster friend. If she kept accumulating them would the other demons think she was odd? A monster lover? Calder was sweet though and he really could use a friend, it wasn't going to hurt her any after all. She had to stop grouping others this way, but years of her parents teaching were hard to set aside so quickly. Sin tried to be open minded, but she was a traditional demon ghoul born and raised.

He watched her go and settled back to watch the water, thinking about the fact they could go to the cafeteria after. It would be nice. He had only been spending time in his room or visiting Chirstof, and he hadn't been seeing much of the Igor in the last few days since the dance due to personal reasons. He had been in a bit of a funk, and getting a new friend, a new possible best friend, was nice to look forward to. Sin didn't seem like a bad demon despite his family's warming about them. Then again, they warned him about contracts and marks too, all of which he did.
She sank in the water, and he started to count.
"One….." She was in the water, and he wondered if he could make it. If he could wind up, in the end, making her proud. Making everyone proud. They could swim together – oh how he wanted to swim now – and he wouldn't have to worry about drowning anyone.
"Two…." Another good upside was that maybe she wouldn’t want to keep their friendship secret, and he wondered if she would want to. He wouldn't mind, but he hoped they could talk outside of just these lessons. Maybe later.
"Three……." He watched the water, a dull ache in his heart. She was gone for three seconds, and he thought of her under the water. She had done these dunks a few times. She was probably tired.
"Four…………" He breathed deep and hard, watching the water, fighting the soft, warm urge to fantasize about her drowning. "Focus. Focus. Focus. No drowning. No drowning. Live. Live. Live." He was feeling anxious and jittery trying not to think about throwing a rock and hoping it would knock her out and let her float to the bottom!
"Five – " OH GEEZ IT COULDN'T HAVE COME SOON ENOUGH!!
"SIN!"

Sin popped out of the water at Calder's yell and swam back to shore with a smile. She climbed out and walked back over with a widening grin for him. "Calder you did it!" She smiled and hugged him, probably soaking him in the process, but hey that was almost a reward in itself.
"That was great!" She let him go and stepped back to grab her towel and wring her hair out. "I think we've made some progress, we can keep doing this everyday until you're good enough at it that we can move on to harder stuff." She wrapped the towel around his waist and smiled.

His tail flicked like a happy dog seeing it's owner return, and he was excited that she was smiling at him this time around. Proud of himself for making her proud, he watched her come over and pull him into a pressing hug. For any other boy, they would be more than happy to get a full chest pressed against him, but Calder was too busy smelling Sin's wet hair and getting the reward of getting completely soaked in the front and around the shoulders. He did good. HE DID GOOD!
Giddy, he beamed at her, smiling as she held him a moment before pulling away. "I did! It's not hard thinking about a friend drowning when you are one." He didn't have to try hard visualizing. He then paused. "…Okay, maybe a little hard." More than hard. If he lasted any longer than that, he might have slipped back into waiting for her to stay on the bottom. Still, he managed this much, and that meant he was farther than he had been. He was making progress, and he also was guaranteed to see Sin again for more lessons. More time with his friend!
"Thank you for drowning for me." He said, most appreciative for her help. She looked cold, and he watched her dry off. "Want to go t the cafeteria now? I bet you're tired." And he didn't want her to actually go in and drown this time around if they continued.

Sin slowly smiled and wrapped the towel back around herself sliding her pants on with a nod. Calder didn't want her to go back in the water, and he had called her out. This was definitely progress, he had manged a lot for one day and they would have plenty more time to practice. She squeezed the extra water from her hair and flipped it back.
"Yeah let's go grab something to eat, I'm starving." Drowning was tiring work it seemed.
"We'll practice more tomorrow...you'll get the hang of it Calder don't worry." She slid her shoes on and started to move slowly towards the Cafeteria, slowly because she was sure Calder's leg still pained him a bit. Consideration for someone was just a part of being a good friend after all.
