The extent of Lucas's understanding of the conversation was that 'pockets' was a funny word, then his attention redirected to Alba when the man said his name, a clear horror spreading on his face. "Oh man, no. Please shu' up." A clumsy hand fumbled into his pockets one at at a time, drawing out a couple fistfuls of pokeballs and the small handgun he had fired at the fleeing Growlithe. He didn't really remember what they wanted from him, but he hoped it was something he had found.

Well, it was certainly extremely obvious that Lucas wanted no more talking, but either way that got the desired reaction as he started emptying his pockets. When he pulled out the gun she was vaguely confused for just a moment before remembering that he'd used it to try and shoot the Growlithe when it ran off with the orb. Without a word - for now, anyway - she scooped up all the pokeballs and set them on the dresser before picking up the gun and making sure the safety was off. She fumbled with it for a moment before managing to check if it was loaded still... which it was. Big surprise there. Oh well, she'd unloaded the last loaded one he had, so she wasted no time in moving off his bed to kneel in front of the dresser, pulling out the bottom drawer to reveal the box where she knew he kept his guns.

She tried her best to avoid thinking of when she found out where he kept them as she opened the box and unloaded the handgun before carefully placing it inside with the rest. Several boxes of ammunition were checked in a similar fashion as last time before the bullets in her hand were replaced, then the box was closed and the drawer slid shut.

He stared disinterestedly as Claire took the pokeballs - missing one that hadn't quite left his hand after leaving his pocket - but snapped to attention when he realized she had hold of the gun. "Hey..." And then she was in the drawer full of guns, and an unmistakable rage darkened his features. "Hey! Pu' tha' down!" He attempted to stand and remove her from the firearms forcibly but found himself unable to do so. Hell if that would stop him, though. Claire would find the missed pokeball sailing squarely at her head - according to Lucas's perception. In actuality it was doomed to careen harmlessly past her shoulder and clatter against the opposite wall unless she intercepted its path.

His protests went on deaf ears as she unloaded the gun and put it away, and by the time the ball sailed over her shoulder and came to an abrupt stop thanks to the wall, she'd already shut the drawer. She leaned over to pick up the pokeball, looking at him with a mildly confused expression. "Lucas, what's wrong?" All she did was put it away... ohh, was he thinking about what happened last time? But why..? Either way that would explain his sudden attitude change.

Alba sat wide-eyed when the gun had appeared. He quickly calmed himself when Claire proved to know just what to do with it, but not quick enough to stop Lucas from sending his last pokeball flying. Spook returned to sitting behind Alba with a squeak. Al stayed seated, but now ready to move forward if Lucas started to act up at all.

"Don' touch 'em." Finding the words to explain was difficult, so he relied on his expression: entreating, fearful, even angry. "No' again. You promised."

"I was just putting it away." Oh yes, that was it. No surprise there. That said, she held the ball in her hand and stood, walking over to sit next to him on the bed before raising a hand to gently squeeze his shoulder. "Don't worry, I promised. I just wanted to put it away so you can sleep. You want us to stop talking, don't you?" Yes, bribe him with sleep. He needed to, anyway, and to stay in here...

On that note, she peered at the ball in her hands. "Is this Merry's?" Well, one way to find out, since Lucas seemed too concussed and confused to even speak properly. With that, she pressed the ball in the center to release the pokeball's occupant, hoping it was indeed the Chimecho.

When Claire returned to sit on the bed, Alba gave a small wave to get her attention. If he got it, would hold up the pill bottle and silently mouth the word, "painkillers?" He didn't know if the doctors had already given Lucas anything, or if it was one of those "go home and take whatever you have" cases. Al himself was more familiar with the latter situation.

((Post for Suu because her internet is fail~))

"Don' wanna sleep," he corrected. Despite this, he leaned backwards and lay properly on the bed, returning his hand to his head. "Hur's. Jus' wan' quiet." He ignored the question of the pokeball's occupant, allowing the released pokemon to speak for herself. It quickly became evident that the pokeball did indeed belong to Merry, the Chimecho sparing a few swift glances before locating Lucas and proceeding to his side, a concerned chiming filling the room. The human, however, moved a hand as if to shoo her. "No. Shh." Whose idea was it to put a bell on a damned pokemon anyway? It was too noisy.

"Alright, alright, you don't have to sleep," she amended, though it was obvious he was exhausted. Which was no surprise - he had a concussion, after all, and she couldn't imagine him wanting to be awake anymore. To Alba's silent suggestion she shook her head, certain the doctors in the infirmary already gave him something to take. That and Lucas was already laying down, there was no way they'd get him to sit back up now.

As Merry chimed and hovered around Lucas, Claire reached a hand out to steady her gently. "Merry, hush," she said in quiet tones, "Lucas has a concussion, and noise doesn't help. Come here," she said as she stood up, allowing Lucas to have the whole bed again and motioning for Alba and Merry to come to the door. She needed to talk to them both, and Lucas obviously wanted to sleep.

Alba nodded at the motion, following her out after a quiet command for Spook to stay put and watch Lucas for him. Even then, he kept throwing worried glances at his roommate until he was standing in the hall.

Going into the hall meant leaving Lucas unattended, and that was not going to fly. Oh, but it looked like Spook was going to stay and hmm... She supposed she could trust a member of the same species... It would only be a minute, right? Right?

Hurriedly, Merry followed after Claire. The sooner they talked, the sooner she could go back.

Once they were out in the hall she gently closed the door with a click and sighed. "Okay, so. Lucas got a concussion in that mission earlier, a really bad one. He hit his head on a rock really hard from the wave of water Kyogre shot at us," she explained in a quiet voice so as not to disturb the concussed man inside. Merry would know what she meant. "He needs quiet and he needs sleep, and he needs to stay in this room." The last need had more emphasis than the first two, and she paused before continuing. "One of the effects of concussions is passing out at random, which isn't good if he's up and wandering around the hallways, okay? Both of you need to make sure he doesn't wander off. I'll stop by a lot too but we'll both be working, so," she turned to the Chimecho, "you need to make sure Lucas stays in bed unless someone else is around too, okay Merry?" Hopefully she'd understand. She wasn't at all familiar with concussions or their effects but she knew it would be bad if Lucas didn't get enough rest, and he'd only get enough rest if he stayed in his room, which... she honestly wasn't sure if he would or not.

Alba listened intently to everything Claire said, nodding in agreement to every point. He'd had some experience with concussions in the past, but he decided against mentioning that to her. "I'll wake him every few hours to check his condition, and I don't think he'd mind you using his room key while he's down. Just so long as you knock or something, of course." Oh, the history of awkward moments founded on the basis of people not knocking. He bit back a smirk at that thought. "Did the doctors give him any sort of medication to take, or recommend anything that you know of?"

"Good, that too." It was reassuring that Alba at least had some idea of what to do with concussed people. She had no clue at all except what the doctors had told her. Anyway, she nodded her head in agreement to knocking before continuing. "I know they gave him something for it, not sure what though.. I wasn't in there when they gave it to him, whatever it was." So he was good for now, and he would sleep and get better soon. Hopefully.
