I can see what your getting at with animal shelters. But, I still think it be easier to put them down then deal with upkeep of all those animals.

Onto your cats and dogs part.

Why not just kill off bears. (No one likes them anyways)

~ Less bear attacks.
~ Large supply of bear meat for a few years.
- Until they die and the price per pound goes up.
~ People would replace bears in there respected ecosystems.
+ More food.
+ Easier to control ecosystems that bears where once apart of.

...humans are animals... stare

why have homeless shelters or hospitals? it would be cheaper and easier to put the humans down... more resources for the living humans.
just a thought...

Your right, in that regard. It would be easier, main reason why I'm pro-abortion.

And no, I don't mean pro-choice.

I understand that humans are animals. You could say, I'm simply too compassionate for my fellow man.

humans should stop killing animals unneccasarilly, if it has a good justifiable point, then so be it. if not... then don't do it. doesn't make sense to kill for dumb reasons.

Yes I am vegetarian (Did I say I was vegan? I still eat eggs from a friends chickens. Other then that I have hardly anything), and I still love plants. we'd be screwed without them. But we have to eat something, and I prefer to go with the living thing that doesn't have a nervous system and that it going to die sooner (taking a lettuce out of the ground that is ready, and will soon die if I don't eat it, VS a young chicken that could live a nice long life).
Don't get me wrong, I don't think less of anyone who eats meat. I only went vegetarian myself, and most of my friends eat meat, many of them hunt, some even farm their own meat.
Technically by not eating meat, I'm eating less plant as well. Livestock eat a lot of plant matter. Pesticides? I hate that crap, which is why I aim to buy foods where pesticides weren't used if I can (or pull it out of the garden)
So now I think I've defended myself against anyone going "Ohh your a hypocrite" unless you want to go on about the bugs that I kill everytime I walk this earth? It's my choice and hey, just means more meat for everyone else.

Ever watch a wheat threasher tear up bunnies? Yes if you're vegan you're still responsible for animal deaths. I don't see you guys protesting against the farm equipment that kills plenty of mammals. Or what about the use of pesticides that kill plenty of insects? Those are creatures too. Anyways being vegan is actually un-natural for humans. You don't get essential vitamins and if you do they are from animal sources. So a true vegan will usually go bat s**t crazy due to a lack of essential b vitamins.

Ah but I'm not trying to cause them harm.
Buy buying a steak, that's pretty much putting a clear message out there saying "I don't give a s**t about animals or the planet".

Yes, animals do still die in the harvesting of plants. It's sad, but when you eat meat, the animals you're eating have to eat something, and it's likely it's still grains. THUS meaning those poor bunnies(and other animals whom get caught up in the mix) are victims of the many number of humans that need to be fed. Pesticides are still sprayed on the grain that are fed to animals. Veganism is not about being super perfect, it's about minimizing the amount of ******** death you support.

And I have been a vegan for well over a year, and you're right. I AM BAT s**t CRAZY BUT ITS BECAUSE OF ASSHOLES LIKE YOU NOT A LACK OF VITAMINS. (I have my doctor run blood tests and everything every time I go in for a checkup to make sure I'm healthy as an ox)

So because humans have not obtained total freedom of rights in our huge life span, you wont focus on anything else until that is done?

You are honestly a silly little tosspot..

Do you take b-vitamins? Vegans tend to be less healthy due to the simple fact they have a poor diet. b-12 to be specific which deals greatly in brain function. And from personal experiance with vegans they tend to not research their diet and just go for it thinking they just eat anything not to do with an animal. So no need for the personal harrasment or do you have a problem with keeping your emotions under control? =P Being a vegetarian is far more safer then vegan.

And I take meat from an indian stand point. If I am to hunt and kill an animal I plan to use every part of it and thank the animal for it's sacrafice.

The best reason I have ever heard to be vegetarian was for human rights. The crops they feed to the animals could be used to feed the human world.

I do supplement b vitamins(and the ones i take are vegan) just because I don't want to take chances. With our over-harvesting of stuff of most of our crops, most plants don't have nearly the nutrients they used to.
And yes, you CAN have a shitty vegan diet and have a lack of nutrition, but the same goes for meat eaters. Just because one eats flesh doesn't make it so they magically get all the nutrients they could ever need. I do admit, it is very depressing that many people don't research nutrition, regardless of their dietary stance. I find friends family and coworkers will come to me because I have done so much research that I'm surprised I don't leak scientific journals from my ears.

Most religions support animal friendly diets. Do you only eat meat that you hunted and killed for sacrifices or do you eat other meat too?

And I'm sorry I got kinda ranty, I've been having some rough home problems with family members and have been in RAGE mode as of late, kinda hard to switch out, and especially when a person posts what feels like a personal attack on ME, ya know?

Okay, one thing: It is wrong to assume the meat eaters "don't give a s**t about animals or the planet." This kind of attitude is what really makes me not like vegans at all. And I'm not the type of person to just dislike a group. Generalizing is not right, but when I'm being lumped into a group that is so far from what I am just based on what I eat, well I take offense to that. Some people eat meat, and some people don't, there is absolutely NO reason to think you're better than someone else because of what you eat. I love animals. I devote my life to them. I share my life with them. I work with them, I have a hard time thinking about doing anything else but. I have been a volunteer for almost two years with an organization that strives to protect animals and the environment. And I eat meat, so according to you, that automatically negates everything else that my entire life stands for and makes me a monster. I do not like the fact that most of what I eat comes from factory farms. I intend on changing that in the near future, and I do what I can in other areas to make up for that.

*Disclaimer* I am NOT attacking you or trying to be rude. Just disputing an assumption you've made.

Sadly I have to eat the food others provide for me at the moment. So I do eat regular meat which I actually dislike doing. I am all for healthy eating and a well balanced diet. I know it's possible for vegans but I know too many don't. No personal attack from me I just post in general. As for the animals I really do love animals I just don't spend much thought on the subject nor put much effort into their preservation when I feel there are other topics begging for my attention and worry.

I agree that generalizing is wrong, and I admit, it does make me a hypocrite because I do, on occasion generalize. Eating meat doesn't make you a monster, even I ate meat at one point in my life.

I applaud you for all you do for animals. I really do. It's more than most vegheads I know! I'm just saying that is sends out a certain image of yourself when you eat meat which is not very positive towards your causes.

And holy crap, It's almost 1am and i've been up since 5 yesterday. So if I'm incoherent from lack of sleep and sugar rush(Sleep over WHOOOO! :O). Just lemme know and I'll try to not sound like I'm a crazy sugared up loon. razz

lol I blame the spiritualists
I really do.I can't go anywhere without seeing a triskelion as a representative of recycling.Besides that I don't quite know why we need most animals, but it can't be the same reason on why does the Earth need humans.I rather have animals than humans as a majority of the planet.Humans ruined this planet (not to be a hypocrite).
