She giggled at his obvious confusion and then the smile faded a little. Yes...it would be horrible to be forgotten, but was that how it would be? She shivered and sat down again looking rather solemn for the first time since she had met him. "Not very nice." She repeated softly, then gazed up at him, "no...but I don't need them anymore."

She drew her head up at a proud angle and puffed out her chest a little, "I don't need anyone anymore, no one cept myself and the big, wide, open world..." but that wasn't true, she craved company when she was by herself. "But...it is nice for some company every now and then." Once again a shy sort of smile curved her maw and she pawed at the ground, flexing her claws a little as the purr rumbled from her throat.

Kijibwa rubs an itchy spot on his nose with a paw, not so sure about the solemn look on Kiburi- the look doesn't suit her very well in his opinion. He nods slowly along with her words, smiling when she says that having company is nice sometimes- knowing first hand he agrees with most everything she's said.

"Even if you don't need anyone, I don't think it means you should be forgotten. It's good for if you want to find company too," he speaks slowly, thinking about the point he's trying to make, "Like, I don't need Amoret but I want to see her again. I don't need you, but I'd like seeing you again too."

He smiles genuinely at her, different from the mischevious and playful ones he'd had before. He likes to play and wander, but he likes having friends too. Especially like the ones he has- if they wander too, it's easier to leave because it's not like you're abandoning them.

She gave him a small smile in return and moved to nuzzle against him as she often did with her mother when she needed to feel close to someone. Did it really matter if her family didn't remember her if she made friends who would? Would Kiji remember her when she left? She felt that she needed to ask but decided against it. She had given him no reason to remember her because...well...they'd only just met!

She released a soft sigh, settling on the ground beside him once more and taking comfort in the shade.

"Wherever my paws take me I always think about my family, I just hope their thoughts dwell on me too." She turns to Kiji slowly, "and I'm sure that you have a family member out their thinking about how you're doing too." She didn't like to think of family being dead.

Kiji is a bit startled when she nuzzles him, not used to affectionate gestures after staying alone for so long, but he returns the gesture awkwardly. His smile brightens when she settles in the shade, feeling quite comfortable now. He thinks about what he said- it was true, and surprising that it wasn't the wrong thing to say since he hasn't been very social. Honesty must be a good thing.

"That's how it should be," he says agreeably, and smiles sheepishly, "Maaaybe. Atleast, I'm pretty sure I didn't pop out of thin air."

He chuckles briefly to himself as he imagines lions just appearing in mid air. He may not be very learned about how lions come to exsist but he's sure it involves parents and not just dropping from the sky. It's a nice thought that he has family somewhere out there that does care, but it makes him wonder if maybe he should feel bad for not remembering them?

Kiburi too had no knowledge of how children were born. To her it was simply a matter of two lions loving one another and then in the female's stomach the children would be born from that love. She truly had no idea of the realities, or if she did she simply glossed it over with how she would have liked it to be.

She doubted she'd ever have cubs anyway, being on the move all the time and not having a moment to stop and rest. The prospect was nice but...would she ever get close enough to anyone to make it a reality?

If Baku had anything to do with it she'd never be close to anyone again.

Naive to the Nightmare God's actions and what he had planned for her she stretched herself out lazily and sighed. "Cublings are born when two lions love each other, so there is definately someone out there who loves you." She smiled and watched the sun as it reached its zenith, parting her maw as she felt the heat of the day. It was at this time she usually hid and waited out the peak of the day but out in the open that was impossible.

"So hot, my poor ears!" She whimpered. Being of a pale colour made her vulnerable to sunburn.

Kijibwa frowns when the image of lions popping out of the air is pushed out his mind with Kiburi stating that cubs come from two lions in love. He'd known this, but it was less amusing.

"That makes sense," he says with a shrug, "I never thought about it before." He stayed sitting up with his tail curled around him, he starts when she suddenly whimpers about the sun and flattens his ears a bit.

"It's easier to stay out of the sun when there are trees," he mutters, finally curling his feet beneath him and laying down in the dirt. If he wanted to stay cooler, he was better off staying facing the sun- that way mostly white was exposed, but having spent most of his time in the jungle he hasn't really experienced as much sun.

"Yep, I hope they're more trees soon, there's not many around this place. I find it easier to dravel when it gets darker and in the morning when the sun is lower." She informed with a nod of her head, "but I couldn't find any decent shelter today, and then I met yooouuu." She giggled, "my ears don't like the sun, nah uh."

Then she stood and regarded him with an amiable look, "when the sun dips down again I'll be on the move. I want to get as far from the Pridelands as possible...in case my mama and papa change their minds and come searching for me."

She swished her tail into the dust, sweeping up a gentle drifting cloud into the air. "I'm glad I met you Blue. You're a good rogue."

"It's got to be easier when it's not this hot," he agrees, sounding less alert than he was before. He sticks out his tongue when she mentions shelter, "Sooooorry I stopped you, then." He laughs with her, then eyes her pale ears.

"All right," he says, looking up at the sky toward the sun, "I gotcha-" he grins- "y'have to like, escape before someone decides to try to catch you." He can't imagine someone being so willing to let someone leave and then suddenly decide to force them to stay, though he has an idea of why someone may not want them to go.

His ears perk, and his grin widens, "You too, Spots. You'll be a good rogue."

She nods in agreement, her pale eyes turning out towards the horizon. She had been starin at it all her life and finally, finally she could explore what it held. Her heart leaped in her chest as she drew in a deep sigh.

"Don't be sorry Blue, I needed the company after a night of being all alone. I think it'll take me a while to get used to that after spending each one snuggled up against my parents." She gave him a sheepish grin and nodded, glad he understood her reasonings for leaving. Would they meet again someday? She hoped so.

"I want to be a good rogue, tis all I ever wanted, but sometimes I get the feeling this life wasn't for me. I have doubts but...maybe it's cos I'm still new to all this."

"Are you used to the way of life?" She questioned.

Kijibwa watches her as she speaks, nodding along with every word she says. He couldn't remember ever having the luxury of sleeping snuggled into someone else but it doesn't concern him much.

"Well, you're off to a good start," he says in a joking matter-of-fact voice, he's sincere but it's obvious he's only pretending to be an expert on the matter. His tone becomes more natural when he continues, "Yes, I'm used to living like this. It happens. You'll learn, if it's what you want to do."

She smiled at him, amazed by his understanding and ability to make her feel better. She hoped she met others like him on her journey, willing to pause for a bit of a chat and perhaps swap stories of the things they had seen. It would be a wonderful life to live - if not a little lonely.

"I'm glad." She smiled, "I was a bit worried about that but it seems everything is going to be fine!" Kiburi drew herself up again as if restless and turned to face him once more, her face draped with a pale shadow.

"I hope we meet again someday." She spoke, "then we can swap our own tales of travelling."

Kijibwa grins at Kiburi, swishing his tail in the dust behind him.

"A good reason to go out and find stories to tell," he says with a nod, stretching out and getting to his feet as well. " 'cause, I don't know about you Spots, but I don't have very much that's interesting!"

He pauses to think about this- nothing has really happened to him since he was a cub. It's part of why he started looking for a change of scenery. He snaps out of his semi-dazed look and shakes his head.

"Nope, nothing," he grins.

She bounced lightly on the tips of her paws and twirled around in a circle before walking off a few paces. It was time to leave and though she was saddened by the fact she knew that more distance had to be put between her and the pride she had once called home.

She gazed over her shoulder at him, slate-blue eyes lighting up as she spoke next. "My stories are of family and that is all...definately not interesting." She laughed, "but I promise I'll find an adventure out there worth telling you about."

Then with that she turned and continued on her way, pausing once more to say a goodbye.

It was time to embrace her freedom.

Kijibwa watches her twirl in a circle, laughing lowly as she does- he knows that it's time for her to leave. Her grins at her when she looks back, tossing his head a bit, "Good! 'cause I'll want to hear all about it!"

He sits back and, looks off in the opposite direction Kiburi walks.

Now he can go find out about these lazy and stupid lions~
