It seemed news had traveled or Riyo had told him what had happened. Neko wasn't sure which was the case but as Riyo stepped in Neko stepped back as well. "Yeah, a drink sounds good." And with that he closed the door in the man's face leaving him outside. With the door closed he locked it, his expression not depicting much as he patted the door. "It was nice to meet you." Though he had a feeling that wasn't going to get rid of the guy.
"So he seems...." Neko tried to search for a nicer word as he stepped back from the door. Honestly the annoying level was very close to the vampire's but in a different way. "..obnoxious?" Still wasn't all that nice but it was better than some of the other things that had come to mind.

Letting out a soft sigh when she heard the door close and lock, then banging from the other side, Riyo grabbed the duster and started to work on the walls and table tops.
"Yeah. He is." Riyo wasn't about to deny it. "Y'know. I was this close to having a somewhat normal life. I could almost taste the mediocrity when that woman got thrown in the slammer. Then... Poof. I'm back in the ******** spotlight of the world. 'Ah, yes. There you are. We thought we'd lost you for a moment. Now how shall the universe resume making your life insufferable?'"
"Hey, c'mon! Drink of your choice if you let me in, buddy!" Jess called desperately.
"I really don't know what to do... I mean... I guess he's trying... But by God if he sees a button he pushes it like a kid with ADD."

When the man started banging Neko moved into the living room and turned his stereo system on, in seconds the sound of rock music was mostly drowning out the desperate pleas from the other side of Neko's door. "He seems rather persistent. I guess that's...something." He didn't know how else to put it. Dealing with parents of his own really wasn't in his experience. He had never had a father and his mother died when he was little.
"So what does your Old Man do anyway?" Neko asked curiously as he leaned up against the counter. Normally he wouldn't pry but he was curious to know where this parent that had shown up out of no where had come from. If he was this persistent to be around her now, where the hell had he been up until this point?

"He's the vocalist of a popular band." Riyo said simply, hearing a tapping at the nearest window. There was Jess, waving at both of them with a big pleading smile. "Ugh..."
Immediately, Riyo walked over and shut the blinds, deciding to dust those off too while she was at it. "Goddamn paparazzi follows me ******** everywhere unless I'm on school grounds. I don't even want to leave the dorms anymore."

"That sounds eventful." Neko looked toward the window as Riyo closed the blind on her father. He was going to have to do something if the guy was just going to play the creepster outside his house for the next couple of hours.
"I somehow have a feeling him being here isn't going to end well...."

Pausing in her cleaning, Riyo looked up at Neko with a frown.
"I tried to lose him... I really did..." She sighed, the feather duster fidgeting in her hand. "If you need me to take him and leave, I-"
And then the sound of singing came from just outside the window. "Oh pleaaase, let me iiiiiin~" He sang in a mock voice, though he still managed to make something so stupid sound good.
"Oh Christ... I need a drink. Or three..." Riyo sighed, pulling up a chair and ever-so-gently rubbing her temple.

"A...are you kidding?" The fact that he was outside singing was baffling. It sounded good but still. Moving over to the door Neko unlocked it and threw it open. His facial expression looked something between confused and irritated. "Dude...you.....are pissing off the world you need to cut this s**t out. I got in her in here about to flip her lid and your out here playing the creepy stalker. Could you perhaps tone it down and maybe...just maybe I'll consider letting you in. There might be some ground rules...."

As soon as Jess heard the door open, he stood to attention and looked to the man who was effectively scolding him like a child... A man probably much younger than him.
... But the words did kinda hit home. "...Okay." Jess responded simply, slowly approaching the door with a sense of caution. "W-what would those be?"
Riyo sat inside, quietly awaiting judgment for either her or her father. How bad would this day turn out, she wondered?
That's when it hit her.
Oh ********, that report was due on monday...
And this would be the perfect chance to work on it.

Despite being younger Neko didn't seem too swayed about talking to Jess like he was. He had plenty of time to learn to grow up and he had done just that....mostly.....somewhat. He put up a good act anyway.
"For starters you can act like an adult instead of a needy child second...." Neko looked back toward Riyo for a moment considering. He wasn't sure what all this man was capable of so maybe it would be best left up to her to establish what he shouldn't do. "Mind throwing something out for the crowd, Riyo? That is if you want him to come in." Neko didn't mind sending him away if she didn't want him here. He could understand wanting peace and quiet for a while....its one of the reasons he lived in the middle of no where.

Snapping out of her awe-like state when Neko called her name, Riyo shook her head and stood, moving towards the door but stopping short a few feet. "Alright. One, no touching. Your hugs hurt. Two. Don't be an a**. Neko's my friend, and I haven't appreciated the way you treat my friends thus far."
Jess quietly listened to his daughters demands... Which most likely went in one ear and out the other. "Okay." He said simply when she was finished, looking to Neko expectantly.
"No. You've gotta promise." Riyo immediately said with narrowed eyes.
Sighing, Jess nodded. "I promise then. Now can I come in?"
Riyo gave Neko a short nod, signaling she had nothing else to say if he wanted to let the idiot in.

"Sure, just know I don't give warnings," It was Neko's nice way of saying he would boot him on his a** without a seconds thought if he managed to break one of the said rules agreed upon. Moving aside he allowed the man to enter the house, his eyes focused on the other's face.
Once Jess was inside Neko closed the door and headed back into the kitchen and started to make some coffee. He had a feeling he would need something a little stronger a bit later.

As her father was let in, Riyo silently turned around and went back to her work dusting everything down, though she couldn't help but look over her shoulder to the two men.
Jess nodded at Neko's unappreciated threat and moved in, immediately starting to look around the house. Psch. It was so small... Not like what he lived in (not that he hadn't in the past, but he often chose to neglect that).
As his eyes glanced side to side, he slowly moved to the table, keen (for now) on being a good boy and proving he could do it. "So uh... Neko." At least he'd gotten his name right. "What do you do for a living?"

Neko looked back once or twice catching Jess taking in the house. He wasn't sure what to make of the expression the guy had as he took everything in but for now he would ignore it.
Reaching up toward the cabinets he started to pull out some cups. "Want some coffee, Riyo?" Setting his own cup down on the counter he looked toward Jess as he asked his question.
"I work at the school. I'm the janitor." He wasn't ashamed of what he did...not that he did much cleaning and it wasn't entirely what Hakim kept him around for. That was more than apparent since Riyo was the one cleaning his house. Though he would neglect his...hobbies for now. He got more money from gambling but that was hardly a job.
"Do you want some coffee?" Neko figured he would ask. He was playing the host after all.

"Yes please." Riyo answered simply as she moved around the fireplace, making sure not to miss any crevice. While Neko might not have liked cleaning, Riyo had always found it relaxing to make a house clean. And she needed all the relaxing she could get right now.
A janitor? This guy was a janitor, and yet his daughter was cleaning his house. "Uh.. Sure." Jess said reluctantly, twiddling his fingers on the table. "So uh... Why does Riyo clean your house?" He forced himself to phrase it nicely.
"Because I want to." Riyo immediately responded, not sure how well the actual reason would go over.
"Why?" Jess asked almost instantly.
"... Why not?"

Coffee done, Neko poured some into three separate cups. Grabbing some sugar and some cream from the refrigerator he took those things and the third cup of coffee over to the table and set them in front of Jess. "After cleaning all day at school who wants to clean their own house? Its like a community service." Though in a strange way Neko felt he was doing a community service...at least if it kept Riyo from rampaging on the community. But if she didn't want to share the real reason Neko wasn't about to drop the ball.
"So you've just recently met up with Riyo again, how long has it been since you saw her last?" Neko asked moving back over to the counter to grab up his own cup of coffee. He didn't seem to be digging for anything in particular, but he wasn't afraid to touch on the harder subjects. Especially if this guy wanted to be nosy. Neko could turn the tables if need be.
