Gone Too Far?
Uumi and Syeira - jan 28

Lethrossen
The lanky male moved slowly after the little hare, hopping away from in in a pathetic attempt of escape. Uumi had come upon the creature in surprise, and had actually managed to get his paws on it before it had slipped through. Though not before he'd broken both of it's left legs (front and back). He was feeling a bit sorry for it, though. He was actually feeling a bit bad about it, he'd only wanted to eat the b*****d thing and it tried to escape him so. He had to break something of it, so it could not stray far. You'd be thick as a brick if you thought the unhealthy little prince would run after it.

The little prince was not exactly so little anymore, he was about the same size as Syeira now, though his body was awkward looking as ever. He'd recently started to spout a mop of a mane, dark and hardly anything to be proud of. He hated it, actually. It looked stupid, to him. "Bloody hell, just give up, will you?" He hissed, voice bitter as ever. He'd gotten close to the boarder since his little 'adventure', and didn't notice Sye's scent on the wind at first. He growled and moved faster, suddenly pouncing the thing. He wondered why any animal would be stupid enough to continue on trying to live, two broken legs surely must have been a lot of pain.

Now how did hunters do it? Whatever, the rabit was too little to bite it's darn neck. He suddenly just shoved it with one paw, snapping it. After all that trouble he wasn't even sure he wanted it any longer. He huffed and rolled off, crimson orbs dancing about as he watched the blue sky. When would he and Kiuma leave? He took in a deep breath of the air, and then tensed. "Syeira.." He mumbed to himself, half sitting up.

Felyn

She smirked as she saw the whole escapade, her lithe little frame slowly sauntering in his general direction. When she got closer, however, she realized that he was actually well near the same size as her. He had even grown a main of coal black, which actually did help his appearance, despite what he may think. Syeira even smirked at the sight of him, attractive qualities were slowly forming on the young lion.

"You're only supposed to kill what you're going to eat," she said in that sly tone, her tail flickering side to side, causing the grasses around her to whirl and dip in the sudden little gusts.

"But my have you grown, little prince," she said with that devilish grin plastered on her lips, slowly sitting and bringing her tail to wrap around her forepaws, "and here I was thinking you'd be such a little runt when I came to see you." Oh my, but had she really come to see him? Or was she just here to make trouble and be a little bother?

Lethrossen

Oh what a pity, it hadn't been his imagination. And she of course had to have found him. "Mmm, and who says that, dear?" He let the sarcassum drip into his voice, bringing himself to sit fully up. He was quite pleased she was no longer bigger than him. Even if they were the same size, it made him uneasy when she was bigger. It wasn't fair. Smarter, prettier and used to be taller. Well, maybe he could gain the advantage in being tall. Or skinnier, cause Uumi was mostly just skin and bones. Not even muscle gave him the appearance of weight.

Came to see him, sure. More or less he read that as came to bug the hell out of him and flaunt how damn intelligent or pretty she was. Like she always did, now that he looked back on their other meetings. "So in other words you can not possibly stay in your own damn lands because you miss me so? Perhaps I shall visit you there one day, put your yearning heart at rest." Yes, still angry as ever. But at least he was being a little more creative in how he channeled his anger. His tail flicked behind him and he glanced to the rabbit. He had been going to eat it. It wasn't his fault his appitite came and went with the winds.

He turned his attention away from her again, crimson eyes moving back to the sky. He wished he could be up there, right now. How silly a wish, and he knew it too. He'd never let anyone know. Actually he probably shouldn't be cloud gazing with the little wench around, she might give him s**t for it. His gaze flicked back to her own, such opposite eyes they had. One an intense crimson, almost bordering on the gaze of a rabid lion and the other a chilly blue that could stop a male in his tracks. Uumi hated Syeira.

But hate often did spring up from jealousy, didn't it?

Felyn

Syeira laughed softly, quirking a brow at him as if anything he said wouldn't phase her. And in truth, none of it usually did. "Apparently no one has taught you the ways of the hunt," she said quietly, her tail flickering to the side and away from her body. She smirked, idly watching him in that silent way she had about her - the stare that made her quite unnerving.

"Though, you've already come to my lands once, Uumi. IT's not the most kind of them all, you know. Denahi doesn't really like you, not very fond of me for tolerating you," she said with a smirk, "but yes, Uumi, let me tell you how irresistable a lanky little sick lion is." However much sarcasm he could manage to drip over his voice, she could multiply it by a hundred.

Lethrossen
His fur seemed to rise up a little. Already she was getting under his skin. Actually Syeira seemed to be able to do that with out even speaking to him, just appearing out of the blue. He finally broke the gaze, watching the dead rabbit again. As if it was more interesting than anything he'd ever seen. "Tch." He hissed out, tail flicking again. Well of course no one taught him the damn ways of the hunt! Just like she always told him. He was a sickly little prince. He had no need to hunt, and could not hunt. He'd end up on the ground half-way after some beast in a coughing fit.

His fur bristled more, why did he always seem to push himself into a place were she could strike more at him with her words? Just not fair. "Really? I thought your brother and I great pals, actually. It hurts, finding out he doens't like me." Like he was afraid of some twit with worse anger problems than himself? His ears flicked back. Well when she put him that way, he wasn't very irresistable at all. Actually he was quite repulsing, he thought.

He shut his eyes a moment, the anger mizing with the angsty hurt, something he was accustomed to blocking from other lions. So why could Syeira get past that wall, make him hurt so? "Why are you back here, Syeira? Your are not wanted in your lands. I will not kid myself any longer, I know you didn't leave cause you miss me." He sneered a little, but was still watching the rabbit. "I do not appreciate that you're bringing your boredom here. Go bug your brother or something." He rose, stretching out his limbs.

Felyn
She listened to the sarcasm that flowed from his mouth, for she knew full and well that Uumi did not think he and Denahi friends. After all, her brother had threatened to eat him, and well, it was she that tried to protect him, was it not? No real wonder, though, that Uumi would have to go and make everything complicated by throwing fake words around, though, she knew she was getting under his skin. What she didn't expect, though, was that sudden little outburst of emotion from him. Was she really that bad? Really that much of a monster to make even the most cold hearted emotional? PRobably, and it made her happy as hell.

"That offends me, Uumi," she said quietly, watching him as he began to get up, watching him stretch out those lanky legs, but unable to deny that even with that sickly look about him - he was growing ever more handsome by each visit she saw him. "But who says I can not come see you? Why can't I miss you? Indeed, I have few friendships with anyone due to a personality I love and can not or will not change. Who I am means that I will find fondness in cold hearts such as yours, perhaps everytime you decide to insult me I find it more and more amusing, and as such, I come looking for your company." She shrugged slowly, though, the smirk was still on her maw - the glimmer still in her eyes.

"Maybe it's not a friendship in your eyes, but wether I am welcome outside of my lands or not, I come regardless. I don't care what you think of me, or what others do, though I can't see why you do care what I say so much. If I'm such a lowly thing and unwelcomed thing, why do you let me get under your skin, Uumikaji?" She quirked a brow at him, calmly licking her forepaw in a very vain, grooming manner.

Lethrossen

His ears flicked lightly. Yeah, he bet it offended her. "So in otherwords your parents raised a female who seaks to be verbally abused?" He raised a brow, glancing at her before beginning to stalk eastward. There was a waterhole in that direction. Ah so his words brought her closer to him instead of pushing her away, it wasn't a very good thing. Maybe he should try being nice? He made a face at that idea. Never, she didn't deserve his niceties.

And how can one not care what another thinks of them? Even if thet don't let it bother them (which is did bother Uumi, but that wasn't the point) wouldn't they be curious of other's inner thoughts about the other? "Why do you try and get under my skin?" He threw back at her, the edge of anger gone from his voice. So he was learning to control it, a little. "Perhaps I am just trying to do what you'd like me to." He said, rolling his eyes. He didn't mean that in the least.

Felyn
She quirked a brow at him, laughing softly. "Not verbally abused, no, Uumi, you miss the point. I seek out someone who can keep a good arguement with me. Someone of some intellectual significance. I was born to seek out the most clever, and you are simply the closest one I can find to my level of thought. Others are angry, or abusive, like my brother Denahi. Or weak, too timid, like my other brother, Tamu." She shrugged, watching him in silence a he began to move away, "which is why I do not stay home. I spend my time there protecting Tamu from Denahi, and that grows wearisome."

She stood slowly, walking after him, a soft smirk spreading across her maw as she watched him - slowly, in that sauntering way, coming up at his side. He'd hate it, but he'd live. "I get under your skin because you let me, and it's easier to draw out your emotions that way. When you're angry, you're more likely to talk to me. IF you're not, you just walk away," she said quietly, chancing a glance fromt eh corner of her bright blue eyes at him.

Lethrossen

So she liked arguing. How annoying. Well at least she noticed he was smarter than the average lion about, though he could be a whole lot more intellectual if he wasn't so damn angsty.

He wasn't finding it fair, that she so easily understood him. "Im sure there is someone you can have a much nicer arguement out of than myself. Why not look for them?" His lip curled a little, his anger springing up again.

He huffed. One minute he was surpressing it and the next he wanted to lash out at her. He could see the glimmering pool of water ahead. Perhaps he let her get under his skin because he wanted some one to talk to. Besides Kiuma. Maybe.

"You're a rather messed up being, do you know that?" He murmered, but his voice wasn't teasing or cruel. He was just stating it. "I wonder how poor your parents believe they have it, having a son like denahi and a daughter like you." He didn't know about Tamu, either. He shut his eyes a moment, tail flicking.

Felyn
She laughed and quirked a brow at him, "why do you try to get rid of me, Uumi?" she asked quietly, her eyes narrowing at him, "no one else bothers to really speak with you because you're an angsty thing, you can't run around and do something for fun because you're too sick. So why, when someone tries some form of conversation at least, must you push them away?" Her voice was calm, but accusing, and slightly cold with that tone of hers.

"And, as a matter of fact, my parents really only bother to worry over Denahi. Tamu is the adored heir, my mom loves me, and my father is wrapped around my paw. Not that I don't appreciate him, but I'm his little princess. I can't do anything wrong in his eyes," oh it was conceited, the way she said all of that - but undoubtedly true. So very true.

Lethrossen
His eyes narrowed as well, and he let out a low hiss. "Because you are an annoyance." He stated, simply. So she did have another brother, huh? Interesting. It seemed that was it though, two boys and a girl. His eyes narrow. "And how do you know no one tries to speak with me? You don't follow me around, you only pop up once in a while." He sneered. Kib tried to talk to him sometimes. And in her stupidity she completely ignored that he was mean to her. Kib was almost like a friend, just like Sye was almost like a friend. But Kib had left by now, he thought. Dammit he just wanted Kiuma to do well in her hunt and tell him they could leave. "I could do anything fun i'd like, sick or not." He snarled, shooting a mean look her way.

As they got to the waterhole he moved ahead, leaning down and lapping it up. His shoulders were hunched in an angry, sullen manner. "I can do anything a normal lion can do, Sye." He stated, head coming up and water dripping from his chin. "Anything."

Felyn

She sat down at the edge of the watering hole as he drank, calmly on the flat surface of a granite slab, one that jutted out slightly into the water itself. "If you believe that you could, Uumi, then you keep telling yourself that. I have my doubts," she said with the slightest tone of amusement to her voice. After all, she'd seen him out of breath more times than she could count.

"After all, you can't run for long, which rules out any sort of big game hunting. The little ones you have to injure enough so they can't escape. Hell, Uumi, how can you even have cubs one day?" oh that was a low blow, little pretty, even for you. "You'd pass out in the process from an attack." Tsk. Tsk.

Lethrossen

Of course she would have doubts. Hell if every word he said was pure truth she'd have doubts... Though he knew he lied a lot. Or even bent the truth, sometimes.

He snarled slightly. Why wouldn't she just shut up? He was just like every other fraking lion. He was. But her words, they'd gone to far. Something snapped in his mind and he turned and lunged at her. "Oh yes? I'll prove it." He shouted.

End (for obvious or not so obvious reasons.)

Father-Son Chat!
Asi and Denahi - jan 28

KasaiLoki
Plopped lazily at the forest borders, the charcoal male adolescent sprawled on his back, watching the sun fall passed the trees of the dark fortress, and into the ground below them only to reveal the silver mist of the moon to take the burning orb's place. Sky blue eyes matched those of the space above during this setting time, allowing an almost serene look to cross the prince's face.

Almost, being the keyword there.

Denahi's ears flickered, hearing the sounds of the nighttime critters making thier roundabouts for the night. The lion didn't mind however; instead, deep within his warped mind, a thought of revenge played on a string. He would become the true heir to the throne, one way or another. To make that possible, he would have to find out. And not being to bright, it would take a while?

Lethrossen

Asi mandered along in an easy pace, he was out watching the borders. Something he did very rarely, but he'd wanted a walk tonight and this seemed the perfect thing. His tail flicked as he walked along the edge of the forest, inhaling the night time scents. His ears flicked, the sound of crickets and the light breeze rustling in the trees was a lovely combination.

Wait, what was this? Also his son's scent lingering in his nostrils. He headed forward, not bothering to keep silent. His paws thudded against the ground lightly. "Denahi, wha' yeh be doin ou'ere?" He called out, approaching his eldest son. No doubt Denahi would probably tell him to piss off.

KasaiLoki
"What does it look like I am doing out here, father," He practically sneered the ending, rolling over onto his forepaws to stand at the approaching forms of the mocha adult. "Are you really that dim to not see I am lying out here, hmm?" He commented, his eyes narrowing as a smirk was placed on his maw. Great manners this kid, I tell you.

"Or did you just think acting stupid to get me to talk would do enough?" He questioned, eyeing his father with the same eyes Ari, his mother, had. The charcoal male sat down, listening to Asi's response.

Lethrossen

Yes, Denahi had the eyes of his mother. But certainly they used their eyes differently. His smile faded quickly once Denahi opened his mouth. Do I be dim? He let the thought flit through his mind. "Acksy it look like yeh be star gazin' ou'ere." He smirked, trying to be good natured about it. Though how this was I do not know, for comments like that only got Denahi madder still.

"An' yeh do no need'a talk ter me or respond, be me sentence stupid or no." He said, and it was true too. "Iffin yeh did no wanna talk yeh woulda kept yer mouth closed." Gosh, Denahi was getting big. Was Tamu this big? Syeira was getting big as well, and pretty as ever. He'd have to keep an eye on any males that entered his pride, and the ones that were slowly growing. He wouldn't let anyone touch his little baby.

He was pretty sure he didn't have to worry about Tamu and Denahi. Tamu was a nice lion, over-all. He was a bit weird though, and skittish in his fathers eyes and he didn't think the little one would be interested in the opposite sex for some time being. But he hoped he would be one day, Tamu was Heir after all. And he didn't think he had to worry about Denahi wooing any females. He was sure once Denahi opened his mouth females would steer clear. Then again.. his little princess surely couldn't be interested in males. Maybe he should ask Ari about it?

KasaiLoki
"What stars are there anyway in this land?" He spat out. It was still time of the setting sun, and the stars had yet to take their appearance. But Denahi was a rash little youngster (both little and youngster an understatement). "And if I had been stargazing, what are you going to do about it," He snapped. Anger management classes anyone?

The charcoal prince just smirked, stalking over to his father, standing almost as tall as the King. He didn't respond to his last comment however, he had no need to.

Lethrossen
Asi sighed, gaze flicking to the sky. Whoops, guess Denahi was right. "I woul' no do annee thin', why?" He frowned at his son, wondering why he was coming so close. It was almost amusing, Asi being paranoid about his oldest son.

He wondered why Denahi was so angry all of the time, it was like he'd gotten Asi's anger gene.. only tenfold. Or maybe Denahi had recieved the gene.. and also all of Asi's own true anger problem from him. Because the big, coffee-colored lion never seemed to be angry anymore.

KasaiLoki
Denahi rolled his eyes. His answer was silenced once more, taking a liking to what his father said about 'if you didn't want to speak, his mouth would stay shut.' And so his maw did.

"Why are you out here anywhere," He questioned hotly to the mocha male after a moment's time. Nowadays, he couldn't get any alone time. He was either seeing his family members around everyone corner of the pridelands, or one of the pride members. This pride was expanding at quick rate, and the young prince wasn't liking it.

Lethrossen
Asi blinked, and smirked. "I do no' think tha' i' be yer business. Bu' I be tellin' yeh annee'ow. I be walkin', really. Jus' watching the boundries." He slowly sat, tail flicking.

Why was asi even trying to talk with Denahi?

KasaiLoki
Denahi scoffed, rolling his eyes. "I think it do be my business," He growled to his father. "I'm the one who always patrols this area, not you," Hostile, much? Denahi bared his canines at the older male, as in a territorial thing. It was like this was the charcoal's male land, at least, this particular section. It had a few dens on it, and watched the main pathway that led from the Southlands, just incase other predators decided to move their way into this land unannounced. He was awaiting a certain red male to do so too.

Lethrossen
Asi suddenly snarled back at his son, his own teeth showing. "DO yeh, cause yew do no be aboot enough ter be tellin' anne'un this, nor do yeh even talk to yer family when yeh be seein' us places." Well, he didn't notice Denahi around a lot. But he had a few times, needless to say the charcoal male had never joined the little 'happy' family.

His whole frame tensed. This would be bad if Denahi started to think these were his lands. Because in Asi's mind that was far from it. Just because his mate had birthded Denahi did not mean he owned a portion of the pride. His tail began to flick faster, his eyes locked on Denahi. "Why d'ye still e'en be aboot if yeh 'ate yer family so much?" A hint of sadness creeped into this.

KasaiLoki
"Who cares if I don't talk to this family, huh? As long as I do my job, there is no reason why I have to interefere with the likes of you, mom, Syeira or that scum you like to call your youngest son." He hissed, his tail thrashing wildly behind him. Denahi was one to talk though; Tamu wasn't scum, the characoal male was.

"I still be here, because I am not going to let that p***k of a brother take away what should rightfully be mine!" Denahi snarled, speaking of Tamu's title to the throne.

Lethrossen
Dammit, Denahi really tried one's patients. And here Asi thought he'd be getting a nice peaceful walk. "I' do ma'er. Once yeh no be communica'in with yer family they be able ter ferge' yeh, e'en if it seems yeh be wan'in tha." He spat out, his fur bristling.

"An' it 'ad ne'er been rightfully yers, ari an' I decided. The younges' son o' the firs' li'er shoul 'old the title." And in the case that a male wasn't born in the first litter? Well he'd have to ask Ari about that! Why was he even explaining it to the ungreatful little beast?

Need a Vacation?
Asi and Ari - jan 29

KasaiLoki
My how the sun just seemed to creep up on you in the morning. The bright light from the giant star snuck into the dens in which the charcoal lioness occupied, indeed waking her up with the most horrid awakening. Blinding rays just passed through the closed lids, causing the blue eyed wonder to become blind momentarily.

Once the orbs adjusted to the sun, Ari yawned, peeking around the den, noting her sleeping mate near by.

Lethrossen
And a very uneasy sleep it was being, he'd come in late last night and curled right up. But that didn't mean he'd fallen asleep right away, it was most fustrating. His eyes finally slit open when he faintly heard the stirrings of his lady-love. "Morn' a'ready?" He muttered sleepily. He began to stretch out, as he did every morning, and slowly sat up.

He should talk to Ari about Denahi some time today. The cubs were getting really big. It was hardly fair to even call them cubs any longer, last night he'd found that Denahi was almost as big as him! When had that even happened? He felt as though he'd missed half of their growing up.

Actually he not only needed to talk with Ari he'd have to have a chat with Tamu sometime as well. And Syeira, but not as badly as the other. Sye seemed to be around more than the boys, though there were disappearances of long periods of time that he could swear she wasn't even in the lands.

"Mmmff." He groaned out, bringing himself to his paws and rubbing up against Ari as he moved himself out of their den. "Sleep well?"

KasaiLoki
The lioness yawned, a roarlike sound emitting from her throat as she focused her eyes on the stretching male. Didn't her youngest son do stretches like that? Oh, it had been so long since she'd seem them. (Well, not really. They saw eachother not to long ago, but still!) Her ears perked forward, listening to Asi, and giggled. "Yes, it's morning already," She said softly. It was still a bit early.

She shifted a bit, purring as he rubbed himself against her before leavin gthe den. She followed shortly afterwards, "it was alright," She started. "You weren't there when I headed to sleep, where were you? Midnight stroll with the fireflies?" She grinned cheekily, her blue eyes staring quite innocently into Asi as she giggled.

Lethrossen

"Harr, harr." He smirked, glancing back at her, tail playfully flicking at her as he headed toward the watering hole that was a bit of a walk away. "Acksly I ran inter Denahi-boy." He murmered. And what a meeting that had been, eh?

" 'e be bigger, yeh know. They all be. I be surprised, acksly. Denahi bi onnee a bi' smaller than meself, interes'inly enough." He frowned lightly. He wondered how Ari felt, missing her little darlings growing up. Well. Denahi wasn't a darling. And secretly Syeira wasn't a darling. And Tamu was a bit of a basket case, not that his parents knew that yet.

"Yeh think this be 'appenin' ter all parents?" He asked, and after a bit they finally got to the waterhole. He leaned down and lapped it up slowly. He figured she'd know what he was asking about. Growing up from cub to almost adults in a blink of the eye, seemingly.

KasaiLoki
Ari seemed to pause in her steps, at the mentioning of seeing Denahi. "An interesting meeting..? How so?" Oh, she wanted to see her small (understament, once more) cubs again. Sometimes, she regretted coming to this land, but she knew the vastness would make anyone wander for days out of curiousity. She was just a typical mother, over protective of her kids, even the violent ones, and strange ones.

And now, Asi was saying how big they were getting! That's it, family meeting! Ari just wanted to see her babies again, just before they grew up to old, and left to start families of their own.

Ariza nodded. "Probably does...I remember most cubs leaving their parents once they seemed fit enough to pass from this border to the Southalnds, alone." She nodded.

Lethrossen

He turned from the water to lightly nuzzle at her, perhaps comforting her and perhaps comforting himself. "Do yeh think they will be lea'in these lands?" It was a possibility. Though if Tamu left he didn't know what would happen. "We needa talk ter Tamu some time soon, aye?" His head tilted and slowly he sat.

"An' i' be interes'in jus' cause. Denahi be still bi'er an' angry as e'er, 'paren'ly thinks 'e owns the lands near the forest..." He trailed off, because that still caused his mind to boggle. It was obvious why Denahi chose that spot, sort of. He didn't know Denahi was watching for certain, disliked, lions. Asi thought it was because the trees reminded the charcoal lion of where he'd been born.

KasaiLoki
"Probably..." Ari said, in a sad tone. "But they have to grow up sometime, right? I just wished their minds would grow up as well, not just their physical appearance." She sighed, her tail flicking against his, twirling around it for a moment. "Have you seen young Tamu lately? I haven't...I just hope Denahi hasn't 'done' anything to him." She grimmaced. One bad point about large lands, and so little lions.

Her eyes narrowed. "Denahi thinks what?" Her purring ceased, but started up immediatly again. "Let him think that, he doesn't own it, however. No one 'owns' this land. They are just apart of it."

Lethrossen

Asi blinked. "Do no be thinkin' like tha'." Actually that just served to make him nervous, because Denahi was capable of such things. "I be scentin'im a few days back, though." He stated.

He gently nipped at Ari's cheek, sighing. "Meh, an' the pride be a bi' distan' a'so. Bu' tha' be changin' soon." He hoped, anyhow. He cuddled into her more, ears flicking.

KasaiLoki
"Thats good, I'm sorry," She apologized. She shouldn't be thinking like that, but it still worried her. As long as Tamu was safe, as long as they all were safe.

"We should do something for the members. I don't know, something like a hunt for them? Maybe a little game for all the youngins around? And adult night out for the older ones?" They needed to do something, really.

Lethrossen
He just gave out a small laugh at that. An event of sorts? "Eh, i' could be fun, I suppose." He stated, lightly biting on her chin, a low purr rumbling from him. "Or could be a disas'er iffin too many o'em think it silly." Though he thought maybe only his kids might. Maybe. He had yet to meet Ta, and Umo's 'cub' seemed a bit quiet. Harabi might like some kind of activety, if he wasn't scared furless of all the lions about.

"We will see, though." He was relaxing a bit, the stress of last night ebbing away. He layed down slowly. He loved being around Ari.

KasaiLoki

Her ears flattened against her head momentarily, at his biting of her chin (not gonna even ask), before scooching closer to the mocha male, resting on him. "But it wouldn't be such a distaster if there are some laughs out of it, right?" She grinned. She hadn't met Umo nor his 'cub', just as Asi hadn't met Ta.

They should like...exchange lives or soemthing, so they can see who the other saw at least once in thier lives.

Lethrossen
That would be a freaky experience, wouldn't it? "Aye, yeh make a goo'point." He nodded. His eyes half shut as she leaned on him, his purring getting a little louder.

"I love yeh." He murmered, pleased that she'd mistaken him for prey so long ago, even if they had been through a rocky start.

KasaiLoki

Though, most relationships do start out a rocky one, do they not? It just shows the heart's true nature to the one that you truley love. "As do I," She nuzzled into him, licking at his cheek and closing her eyes. More and more the two got to spend more time together. It was quite enjoyable.

"Let's go on a little trip sometime. Just me and you, okay?" She said in dreamily. "A trip to the waterfall maybe? Or just lie about in the southlands watching the fireflies." There was nothing like those little lightning bugs.

Lethrossen
He kneeded at the ground, pleased with this moment. "There be no fireflies in these lan's?" He asked her, eyes cracking open and head tilting. "Les go now." He stated, he was serious too. "Jus' some me an' yew adven'ure time." He gave her a cheeky grin, purring pausing.

The Heir and Co?
Asi, Tisha and Tamu - jan 29

Tamiko-chan

The newly grown heir roamed around in the pridelands that he was to take over sometime in the future. They were his mother's homelands, a place where she had left for some reason or another--he often forgot--but had longed to come back and build the place back up. So now here was the family, growing and living in this place.

It really was quite lovely, but Tamu often felt lonesome. And it wasn't just because of the fact that he felt himself the oddball in the family either. It was the fact that there were no other lions around, or at least none that he had seen. There had been that one female, the one who had been looking for his father, but he didn't get to talk with her much.

And so he was left to his own devices. It really was quite boring. So he occupied himself by lounging next to a nice little watering hole and thinking about his future.

Since becoming an adolescent certain things crossed his mind... certain things he had never really though of before: females. Where were they anyways? In fact... where was anybody?

Lethrossen
Well he wouldn't be getting the attention of a female anytime soon, but Asi was heading for the waterhole! He and Ari would be taking a trip soon, but no one in the pride would know this. Hopefully none would figure it out until they were back, either.

His nostrils flared, coffee colored coat not plending in too well with the green-yellow grass. They rippled about him, tickling at his sides. Ah hah! He could smell his youngest son in the air. He wondered if the boy was about or if he had just been in the area and was now gone again?

Only one way to find out. "Tamu, me boy, yeh be aboot?" He called out. A few birds some odd distance away burst from the grass and flew off. Asi gave a small stumble from that, it'd surprised him.

Tamiko-chan
Tamu was thinking when his father called out to him, but luckily his thoughts weren't too distracting. An ear flicked in the direction of the familiar and comforting voice, and soon after a head followed.

"Father?" he asked, even though he was almost positive that it had been his father who had called out to him. It wasn't like there were tons of lions around here who would even want to call on him.

Sighing at yet another lonely thought, the younger male rose slowly to his now larger paws, lifting up his great weight to stand regally. Hey, being an heir to a pride did change him a bit. No longer was he unsure of himself or a coward when in his brother's presence.

"I'm over here, by the watering hole." His voice was strong, showing his newly-discovered confidence.

Lethrossen

Asi's ears flicked lightly. He could hear the change in Tamu's voice, it seemed Denahi and Syeira hadn't been the only ones to grow. He started to purr, it couldn't be helped. He was glad that his son had called back, even helped Asi with finding his location. As he came into view he gave his youngest a fond smile, tail flicking. "It be long since I las' lay eyes on yeh, Tamu. Yehv grown." A note of pride was in his voice.

He moved toward the water, taking a quick drink. It was hard to come into contact with so few lions in such a big land, that it was.

Tamiko-chan

The heir grinned widely as he spotted his father coming towards him. It had been a long time, perhaps too long. And the pride in Asi's voice only made him feel even better about himself. Finally, someone who was proud of him!

"I have, Father," he replied smoothly as Asi took a drink from the watering hole. Watching the older male take a drink made Tamu thirsty as well. So he moved forward gracefully and lowered his head to lap at the water as well. Once his thirst had been satisfied, he sat down neatly then looked at the one he adored so much, his father.

"I hope things are well with the rest of the family?" he questioned cautiously. He hadn't seen the others lately, but perhaps his father had.

Lethrossen
Asi nodded a bit, coming away from the water and sitting, regarding Tamu again. "Eh, yer mother be okay an' yer sis'er as well.. Denahi... be the same." He give a forced smile to the last of the statement. Angry as ever, Denahi was.

"There be more members now, though iono iffin yeh 'ave spotted annee, cause i' do be 'ard ter find others aboot these lands." He glanced around, and then to the sky.

Tamiko-chan

Tamu-jitu smiled as well when his father mentioned his dark brother, though it was probably for a different reason. He wondered what Denahi would think of him the next time he tried harrassing the youngest, only to find a proud lion who was no longer afraid to fight back. Just the thought made him grin slyly.

"Well, that's good news," he said in response to the whole family thing. He nodded his head then looked at his reflection for a split moment before glancing back towards Asi.

"New members?" he echoed, wondering then how long they had been here. It was obvious he hadn't met any of them. "Heh, yeah, these lands are a bit bigger than most.... how long have the new members been here?"

Was he really that out of the loop?

Lethrossen

It was good news, wasn't it? His gaze floated back to Tamu, how he'd changed. Ari would be pleased to hear that her youngest some had been growing mentally as well as physically.

"Aye.. thurr be this lil' cub named Harabu.. an' this lion Umo with another youngster.. Kajji. An' yer mother brough' in A mother an' son..." He racked his brain a little. "Aye, new members. May'aps ye be meetin'em soon." Especially if Ari had her way with the event she wanted to plan and then throw.

Tamiko-chan
The younger male blinked as he listened to his father talk about the new members. Once he was done, all Tamu could do was sit there, quietly, and blink. There were that many new members? He had known he was being a sort of loner within the pride but he hadn't known he was that uninformed!

Shaking his head to clear it a bit, he slid down onto his soft belly. It wasn't all that bit of a shock, a pride often contained up to twenty adults, along with some young here and there. But he hadn't thought that so many would join without him even getting wind of it.

"Wow," was all he could say. Then he managed to find better words. "That many, huh? I guess I'll have to go around introducing m'self if I'm to be their king one day."

Eye clouding slightly, the heir moved back up onto his paws. He still couldn't believe that he was that solitary.

Lethrossen
"Aye. I no be seein' them a'er invi'in 'em ter stay, though. I think they be 'idin' aboot some'eres. I be sure they be wan'in ter mee' a 'eir." Actually he was sure the whole pride might like to meet all of each other, because he was certain that they have not right yet.

"Yeh' prolly jus' do no' know aboot 'em cause yeh 'aven't seen yer mum an' me an' vise versa." Yay for offering excuses? But Asi was a little upset that his 'cubs' barely came and saw he and Ari any longer. Well, Denahi had barely ever done that. But he thought Tamu and Sye would have come found them sooner or later.

Actually, he knew he and Ari should have been looking for them as well.

Tamiko-chan
And suddenly the heir felt horrible. It didn't have anything to do with food and an angry stomach, rather it had to do with the fact that there were so many new members and he hadn't even met one! What sort of king would he turn out to be if he didn't even know his subjects?

Shaking his head once more, though hoping his father wouldn't see the troubled look in his eyes, he just sat there and stared at his reflection. The water showed him a strong lion, one with a good head on his strong shoulders. It showed him a fit leader, perhaps, one day destined to rule a pride. Well, if that's what the waters showed, then why didn't he feel that way?

Smiling only slightly at his father's excuse, Tamu shifted slightly and allowed his gaze to leave the cool liquids. Instead they landed upon Asi.

"I feel terrible, Father," he suddenly blurted out.

Don't tell him!! the Voice suddenly snarled inside of his head. It was so loud and such a surprise that it caused the future king to wince visably.

I have to tell him! he argued back silently.

Don't tell him, or I'll make you do something terrible!

Worried but knowing what he had to do, Tamu-jitu looked at his father, his head held higher than ever in a proud position.

"How am I to be king if I don't know my subjects?"

STOP! the Voice boomed, causing the male a slight headache.

But the heir continued on: "I think I'll stick with you for a bit, Father, and stay with Mum as well. It seems that there is more for me to learn. I must meet each of these new members and perhaps get to know them as well before I even think to take over this pride."

NO! You weren't supposed to go with him! My plan! It cannot be carried out now! YOU FOOL! Your family shall pay for this!"

"SHUT UP!" the youngest male suddenly blurted out. The Voice had really gotten on his nerves and caused him to reveal that there was some sort of internal war going on. He hadn't wanted anyone to know, but perhaps now was the time to tell his story...

Final_Crucible
Tisha found herself walking through towards the watering hole, forgetting about the river bath earlier as she felt the heat turn her pelt into a heated mess. Her fur gleamed lightly in the sun, the silver coloring standing out with the black markings. She had not realized the thought of running into Asi once more, but as she neared the water, something other than the shimmering reflections caught her eye, for two lions were sitting near the waters edge.

She stopped suddenly at the outburst from the unfamiliar smaller one, and just flattened her ears as her bi-colored eyes assessed the situation.

"Asi..." She called out softly a moment later, "...I didn't think I would run into you here...is something the matter?" Her quesion was directed towards Tamu, her eyes falling on the younger lion as she sent him a soft, motherly smile before quickly padding to the water's edge, blinking at Tamu while she passed before turning back to the king.

Lethrossen
Asi frowned lightly, tail flicking. Why did his boy feel terrible? Ah, because he hadn't met everyone? "Aye, do no' feel tha' way. I 'ave no me' e'ery'un either." He gave a short chuckle, because it was very true.

His ears flicked back as suddenly Tamu shouted out the command to shut up. And asi looked around frantically. Were his words that unwanted? His eyes fell on Tisha and he gave a nervous half-chuckle.

"Well we coul' run inter each o'er annee place." He stated, glancing a bit worridly at Tamu. "Yeh be a'righ' la'ly, lands been trea'in yeh good? By the way this be me son, the 'eir ter the Kusini. Tamu-jitu. Tamu this be one o' the new mem'ers, Tisha." Good, done with introductions.

Wait, Tamu stay with Ari and Asi? That wasn't possible right now! They would be leaving soon to go on their little trip.. and coming back.. He'd discuss it with Tamu in a bit.

Tamiko-chan
The Voice instantly shut up after that, seeming to be satisfied that the heir was made to look like a fool in front of one of the new adult members.

Groaning on the inside at this thought, he shifted slightly so that he could take a proper look at the new member his father was introducing him to. Upon seeing her lovely gray fur and black markings, the heir smiled. She was indeed pretty, and sort of had a motherly air about her. Maybe this was the one with the cub?

Bowing his head slightly in a respectful manner, he continued smiling. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Please, er, excuse my earlier behavior."

Then he turned back to his father. "Sorry about that.. I.. don't know what came over me." His head suddenly lowered and his eyes cast down. Some king he'd make.

Final_Crucible
Tisha just looked between the two before turning back to Asi.

"Oh, the lands are very nice, Tafari is adapting well, he almost seems ready to start hunting. Though he is still quite young and needs to meet everyone, he is growing fast...soon he will be ready to meet the whole pride..." She trailed off and looked to Tamu, and bowed her head lightly, "The pleasure is all mine, Tamu, if you ever would like to make a new friend, my son Tafari is always open for introductions."

She moved now to take a light lap of the waters, she lifted her head to catch Asi's look at Tamu's declairation.

"Well, you seem like a very mature lion, Tamu...but there is no reasions for apoligies, it is quite refreshing to see some enthusiaism through life." She smiled brightly to him at that.

Lethrossen
He didn't want to press it, if Tamu said he was fine then clearly he was fine. His tail flicked and he lightly batted a paw at the side of Tamu's face. "Aye, cheer up will yeh?" He murmered softly, so it was for his son's ears alone. "Nothin' ter be sorreh fer."

"I be gla'ter 'ear tha', Tisha." See, members seemed to like this place well enough. He glanced between the adult female and his son, just watching the interaction really.

Tamiko-chan
Tamu lifted his head slightly as the mood seemed to lighten and the Voice seemed to have disappeared. Relieved at this last part, he loosened his muscles slightly as he peered at Tisha. So, she was the one with the cub. He wondered who the father was... yet he wasn't about to ask. Wasn't his business.

"I think I'd like to meet your son very much. If he's anything like you, I'm sure I'd like him. Perhaps I could take him on a hunt or something, maybe show him the lands a bit more?" he offered. He hadn't had a chance to really hang around with other males much--besides his brother, but that didn't count much--and so when the chance to actually do so hung in front of him he instantly leaped at it.

"Tafari you said his name was?" He didn't know what a name had to do with anything, but he figured it'd prove useful if he was to hang around this one a bit more.

Final_Crucible

Tisha found herself smiling to Asi, remembering their conversation and feeling like he was almost a big brother to her. Turning back to Tamu amoment later, she just nodded slowly to him.

"Tafari is my son...he is a bit younger than you, but I always wanted him to get a good elder brother figure in a friend...he needs to be taught the ways of the males in the pride...and since I am not quite a male, I can only show him so much in this life..." She trailed off sadly at that comment, feeling pained for a split second before hiding it once more.

"He is quite a...copy-cat though...but he has good intentions..."

Lethrossen
Ah good, Tamu seemed to be okay now. He grinned lightly, still just watching.

He blinked, his grin slipping. Copy-cat... the one who'd been hanging around with Denahi? That was a very bad thing! Well maybe if Tamu was around him it could turn into a good idea. "Tha' be a smar' idea, Tamu. I be sure annee youngster be wan'in ter learn teh 'unt." Though he had no clue why, he hated hunting.

Tamiko-chan
The heir smiled then nodded slowly.

"Sure! He sounds wonderful! And don't worry, I've got a high patience level from, uh, past experiences." His smile slowly turned into a grin as he thought of his brother. No longer was he shamed by having such a devil-ish brother. It was actually quite interesting... only not so much when things turned violent.

But Tafari wouldn't learn of Denahi's violent and wrecking ways, not so long as Tamu had anything to do with the matter.

"Just let me know when you want me to take him out, and I will." Finally, something to do!

Final_Crucible
Tisha found herself sighing soon after as she nodded, "Yes, he seems to always mimic me...he has become a good hunter in searching for the scent, but he needs quite a bit more now that he has grown older, and a bit clumsy...but it would mean so much if you were to become friends with my son...heavens knows he needs it..."

She stood a moment later and streached a bit, before glancing towards the two again, "So I hope I didn't interrupt you two...I actually need to go and check on Tafari...he was sulking after his bath but I am sure by now he is up and waiting...once more it was a pleasure to meet you Tamu." With that she smiled to the two and turned to go, Tafari was waiting.

PAGAO LOG

Pagao shifted as he moved through the grasslands, just enjoying a long stroll. He kept telling himself he should make his way toward the graveyards, but he wasn't sure about that at all. He sighed and willed those thoughts away, left ear flicking and a low growl slipping past his jaws. "Bloody fleas, leave me alone." He muttered to himself, stopping to itch at his neck and behind his ears, having to sit down to do so.

Bluefire Dragonz
A bright, demented cackle sounded in the hot, still air in the grasslands. While the speaker was hidden by the waving stalks of gold, it was obvious that who ever it was, she was having a hay day over something. The wind shifted, bending the grass back the other way as it danced through it. The sickly, sweet smell of a rotting carcass rode that fickle wind, and offered itself as the reason for the manical laughter.

The sun shone down, hot, molten, and merciless. What every made that smell, it must be nearly putrid by now. But what does a hyena care how rotten something is? Scavengers by nature, fresh meat was no better than something that had been dead for a good long while.

Lethrossen

His ears twitched as he heard the cackle and his reddish orbs glinted with curiousity. He inhaled the air through his nostrils, snout wrinkling slightly. Mmm, food. He moved to his paws, ignoring the annoying pests in his fur for now. He started to stalk through the grasses, blending in quite nicely.

His eyes narrowed slightly, coming closer and closer. But he stopped dead and his gaze widened greatly. A blue hyena? He began to chuckle, nonstop. She looked so funny!

Bluefire Dragonz

Bluu did indeed look funny, not that she noticed, or would have cared if she had. The dark blue hyena currently had her entire head within the chest cavity of the zebra carcass she had found, chaising down some tidbit of meat. Her short white tail waggled madly in the air, and she let out another ear splitting cackle as she greedily gobbled up the rotting meat.

Unaware of her watcher, she spread her hindlegs wide and braced them as she pulled back, struggling to get her head back through the small hole she'd shoved it through. At first, she seemed stuck in the the bones and meat, but with a few determined pulls, she finally pulled her head free. Covered in filth, she licked her chopps happily and reached for a foreleg, powerful jaws cracking the hard bones like twigs as she struggled to break it free.

Lethrossen

He quieted after a moment, licking his chops. "So willing to share, or am I going to have to fight for a bite?" He murmered, stalking into her view. He was a little tense, seeing as this was a potential dangerous situation.

Pagao loped forward in an easy motion, heading for the large watering hole that boardered the pridelands to the southlands. His tongue lolled from his mouth, blonde mane flopping against his face as the wind gentle flickered past.

"Mmm, it's been too dull 'bout these parts. Guss it's time for me to leave soon." He mumbled to himself, red gaze flickering over the water as he reached it. A mud bath sounded nice, actually.

To top all of that off he'd seemed to get rid of the fleas, if only for a while.

KasaiLoki
Laying on the dusty ground, a large form of an hyena adult was formed. A white tail curled around darker marked limbs as the female slept lightly. The sounds of a three-step beats against the land awoke Talice from her light slumber.

Her ears perked towards Pagao. It was /him/ again. Oh god, not again. Rolling her eyes, she stood up, groaning slightly. "I thought you were going to look for a pack?" Or clan or whatever a group hyenas called themselves.

Lethrossen
Pagao glanced sideways to the larger hyena. Though female she was just a bit bigger than him, due to his small stature for a male. He snorted and rolled his eyes. "Would you like me to tell you updates all about my life, love?" He teased slightly, moving to the water and leaning down, gulping up some.

"That pack didn't sound like I could make it fun. So I decided against it. Still a free agent, so to speak." He smirked, glancing over his shoulder.

KasaiLoki

"I'd prefer if you didn't," She voiced, her tone a bit low, almost in a growl. There were those stupid nicknames again. If there was one thing Talice hated the most, it was when one called her something else other than her name. "If you must call me something, call me by my name, darling." She mimicked, rolling her eyes.

Then the thought of her name never escaping her maw to this hyena crossed her mind. "Talice." She said, leaving off the second part of her name just because it was pointless to say it.

"Oh goody, more chances to see you" she muttered, her tone rather sarcastic.

lethrossen
"I musn't call you anything, actually. Though when I call someone by anything it's usually something along the lines of what i've previously called you. A much nicer ring to it than.." He paused and quirked a brow. "Talice. But do continue calling me darling, if I have to be calling you Talice." He chuckled slightly, tail flicking as he began to wade into the water.
