"Like hell I'm related to him," Shibasa muttered. "He's a jackass. I'm a nice guy."
Nobo burst into laughter, flapping his wings with it. "Oh that was rich!" he crowed. "Did you hear him? He called ME the jackass! I don't even have four legs!"
Shibasa rolled his eyes. "It's... nah, it isn't any worse," he said. But he wasn't looking at her as he said it. "I just like food more than I should. Which is why I gotta share when someone's nearby and can't feed themselves."

“Oooh.” She’d been wondering about that. So the Goddess of Greed had made him greedier. How odd. Apparently the Gods worked in different ways… some stranger than others. She laughed with the vulture, visibly amused by his antics. She wasn’t entirely sure Shibasa was being truthful about the progress of his… condition but she didn’t want to prod any further into his thoughts. She gave the male a tiny wink, trying to cheer him up a bit – a difficult task, apparently. “Hopefully, it won’t make you fat.”
“Aw, you seem like good friends.” She’d obviously taken the part about them eating one another as a joke. “Did you get together because you look alike?”

Nobo and Shibasa looked at each other, but neither of them wanted to tell her the truth. After a moment Nobo went back to preening, leaving Shibasa to give her a slight smile.
"Not really. We just understand each other," he said, avoiding lying, at least. "Are you going to be fine on your own or should I stick around while you heal?" In other words he was changing the subject.

The look that crossed between the red pair had Fenja instantly tilting her head to the side, wondering if she had been mistaken. It didn’t really matter though because she’d gotten a smile from the red lion - perhaps not through her own skill but still, it was a smile.
“Oh, don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” She smiled widely. She honestly believed it wouldn’t take too long for her paw to heal (if she stayed still, that is) and even if it didn’t… well, Fenja was pretty sure someone else would lend a paw. “Seriously, don’t let me keep you here,… ah… I don’t think I got your name.”

"It's Shibasa," Shibasa said as he stood. A part of him wanted to stay, to make sure she was fed and cared for--but he'd been down that road before, and it was a waste of time and effort. Besides, that bit of meat he'd given her would keep her from starving while she recuperated.
"Maybe we'll run into each other again sometime," he added before walking away.
Nobo hesitated, looking at the lioness then glancing at the lion walking away. "Y'know," he said. "Some lions hang out with bunnies. That says a lot about them, y'think? What do you think hanging out with a vulture means?"
"Nobo! Get a move on it, or I'm leaving you behind!" Shibasa shouted.
"Gotta go," Nobo said, taking to the air and flying after his "brother."

“Well it was a pleasure to meet you, Shibasa.” Fenja said standing up. It wouldn’t be polite to watch the other go while she was happily lying down, munching on the leftovers of the gazelle he had caught. “I hope so, too.”
She eyed the large bird curiously before grinning mischievously.
“It means you’re a witty little bugger who flies too high for his teeth to reach.” She said more quietly though Shibasa might still hear her if he was paying close attention. “Be nice to him, Nobo.”
“Bye!” she watched the red shapes move away for a few seconds before plopping down again, to finish the carcass. She would’ve liked to have saved a bit for later but she’d never been much of a digger so it was best to clean the bones before (more) scavengers arrived on the spot. By then, she would be long gone.
