Gondin Squad 12's Guard
The longswords whirled about him at dizzying speeds. Gondin had long ago stopped bothering to look at his blades. It would only serve to disorient and confuse him. Whether spinning in the air beside him, thrusting behind, or cutting a quick parry before him, he knew where the blades were even if they weren't in his field of vision. He had crafted the swords himself many years ago, and they were like an extension of his own bones. It was like having longer arms, each with an additional joint. He reveled in the fluid sensation of his body's movement. Each step placed gracefully and firmly, each thrust precise and quick. He finished with a series of impossibly fast frontal slashes and overhead strikes. It was his favorite part, feeling the momentum of each swing feed in to the next, an offensive onslaught of exponentially increasing speed and fury. And as suddenly as it started, the routine ended. It had felt like only a few seconds, but he had done the routine many times in the past and knew it took at least 5 minutes. He was breathing heavily and he felt a slight chill as the breeze pointed out the sweat already running down his body. He laughed a deep hearty laugh. Good health, a steady job that suits your talents, and a brand new day with beautiful weather. What more can any man ask for. He mused to himself as he hurried in to deeper water to rinse off the sweat. After a quick rinsing, he hustled back to the camp to find Senel and Amaya already having their breakfast. Neither looking overly engaged in any conversation. Senel was laying back, looking lost in thought. The first thing Gondin had noted when meeting Senel was that he was young. He wasn't frail by any means, but it would be a few more years before he was in his physical prime. But even so, he handled his sword with skill, and his mind was sharp. He was a strong young man, and Gondin had no doubt that he would hold his own on any battle field, physical or mental. Amaya was preparing some fish Senel must have brought. She was like a flower. Delicate and worth preserving, but impossible to communicate with. It still struck him as wrong to see a girl like her involved in the horrific business of killing deathwalkers . It felt like a perversion of nature. But these were thoughts he had had many times now, and nothing would dampen his spirits on such a beautiful day. "Thank you for getting breakfast together." He said with a grateful smile, reaching a still dripping hand out to accept a plate of food. "Rosa has kept watch, you two made breakfast, I suppose that puts dish duty and breaking camp on me." he states simply as he sits down with a squishing sound. He begins digging in to his meal with fervor. "How are you all this fine morning?"

Amaya Squad 12's Vestec
Amaya giggled slightly at Gondin's logic. "I don't mind cleaning up, you know." She said as she finally made a very small plate for herself. Vestec were not known to eat much, it just wasn't really like them to eat mainly because they didn't need to as much as regular humans. "I'm fine this morning. I trust you slept well?" She asked as looked to Gondin, however her attention was quickly shifted to Senel, the girl cocking her head a little. "Is something wrong Senel? What are you thinking about?" She asked, sensing that he was troubled about something.

~Senel Krusis~ Senel felt the ground shake slightly underneath him. Arching his head back from his position on the floor he noticed Gondin making his way back to camp, a large smile plastered on his face. Senel couldn't help but smile as well. If there was something Gondin was good at besides fighting it was filling the group with high morale. never had he seen the large man with his spirits down and he hoped he would never have to. Senel waved at Gondin before Amaya's words reached his ears. He instantly sat up, crossing his legs in the process. "It's nothing, don't worry about it," he half smiled before taking hold of semi cooked fish and sinking his teeth in it. His felt his face scrunch up ever so slightly at the raw taste in his mouth. He forced himself to swallow the piece of fish before placing the rest on the fire.

Gondin Squad 12's Guard
Gondin noticed Senel's raw fish face, but didn't mention it. He had enough to worry about without being ragged on for being overanxious about his food. He smiled at Maya's humility. "No, no, its just fair after all. Pretty sure I was the last one awake to boot." He said enjoying his breakfast and grunting in approval on the more savory bits. "Can't let you kids start accusing me of not pulling my weight around here can I?" he continued jokingly. One of the strangest parts of this new lifestyle was being the eldest. All his life he had answered either to himself, or to a master who was always an older more experienced fighter. Sure, he had instructed young people in basic swordplay. He had even helped tutor an apprentice blacksmith once. But it was different dealing with those who were obviously in a position of "student" and therefore subject to his word. If anything, his young companions were technically his superiors in this case. He was still trying to figure out his place in it all.

Amaya Squad 12's Vestec
Amaya sighed, but nodded, guessing that Senel didn't wish to talk about it, though she did hold back a laugh seeing him eat the raw fish. She had tried to warn him, but he moved too quickly. Looking at Gondin, she smiled softly. "Thank you, I hope you know I appreciate what all of you do. It's not easy being similar to them. I just wish I could help more to get rid of them." She murmured as she pulled her knees up to her chin and looked into the fire. Of course, Amaya was talking about the Deathwalkers. The Vestec Nia and the Deathwalkers were very similar, in all honesty, Vestec Nia were just a different breed that were not strong, did not crave human flesh, but could sense their kin when their powers were activated. The Vestec Nia hated the fact that they were kin with the Deathwalkers, which was the main reason they decided to help the Silver Guard, that, and the protection they received from them.

Rosa Zabójca Squad 12's Guard Rosa glanced to Senel when he came back, flicking one of her daggers up into the air before catching it deftly. As quiet as ever, she sheathed her various weapons, realizing that some people were probably dubious as to where she could keep all of them when she had such little clothes. She had already begun to tie up her things, rising up once that was done to grab her food.
Walking over to Amaya, she bowed her head in gratitude, moving off into the shade of a tree to eat. Once beneath it, she jumped up into the branches so she was out of sight, lifting her mask so she could begin eating. It didn't matter if she had been traveling with them for a while, she still didn't like anyone to see her face. She observed and listened to the others as they talked with one another, slowing slightly as she bit into the fish when she heard Amaya. It took her all of another moment to finish up with her food, jumping down lightly from the tree. "Everyone has their part to play and role to fill. You see, Senel projects the image, Gondin and I kill. Being similar to them does not make you the same." She spoke quietly, her voice still loud enough to be heard, walking over to the river to wash off her hands and what dishes she used. Most likely, that would be her big statement of the day. Even though she didn't necessarily like to get close to people didn't mean that she enjoyed seeing others in pain or discomfort.

Gondin Squad 12's Guard
Gondin tried to imagine Amaya out slaughtering innocent people and barked a hearty laugh. "That is a rather odd thing to be concerned with. What does blood similarity have to do with anything?" He asks conversationally "So a big unshaven man with scruffy hair is at the gallows because he raped someone." he says thrusting a hand out to indicate the imaginary execution just a few yards off "Doesn't make me a rapist." he says, grabbing a fish, and using it to indicate the similarity to his own physical appearance before taking a bite. "Your risking your life to stop the deathwalkers. The blood in your veins is helping you do that, and even if it weren't, blood doesn't define you. Your actions do. Your a hero, and ought to be damn pleased with yourself. Simple as that." he finishes as if the topic was obviously closed, and taking a much larger bite of the fish "Nothing like fresh fish." He grunts with satisfaction.

Amaya Squad 12's Vestec
Looking at her friends as they spoke to her, Amaya seemed to relax a little. A smile traced her lips as she looked at them, the girl nodding her head slightly. "Thank you my friends...I shall remember your kind words." She told them. Seeing Gondin still enjoy his fish, she chuckled a little. Gondin was not a typical sight where she was from, of course, none of them were. Everyone in the Vestec village was like Amaya, fair, frail, and quiet. While Rosa was quiet, she was strong, Gondin was very animated and also just as strong as Rosa. Then there was Senel. He had trained his whole life for this specific job. Amaya didn't need to train, all that was needed of her were her abilities. She wished she could help the squad more, unfortunately, she was usually so fatigued by using her powers that she could hardly even move once they were activated.

Rosa Zabójca Squad 12's Guard Rosa paused as she dried off her dishes with a towel, turning her head slightly to nod to Amaya. The girl was so uncertain of herself. Personally she wouldn't mind offering to teach the girl how to use a knife so she could protect herself a bit, but she did get so weak after using her powers. So she never actually offered because of that.
Straightening up, she walked over and placed the dishes to one side, double checking all her weaponry before she moved to go out into the woods again. It was probably a better idea to try to bond with her team mates, but she felt so awkward around people. She found it hard to connect. So she double checked that her portion of camp was broken down and ready to go before heading towards the bank of the river.
She debated taking off into the trees again, but ended up sitting down and folding her legs, her wrists hanging off of her knees. She began to meditate, her back to them, still keeping an ear out and her senses stretched out on high.

++Squad 4 Guard: Lux of the White Rose++ Lux awoke with a start dreams had never come easily for him, last night was no exception. On the off chance he did dream they were never comforting ones. He saw visions of Deathwalkers they'd killed and their victims most times it was the times they had been to late to save someone. He exited his small tent and removed his sword, Mangetsu from the ground, the massive sword slipped out with ease. He swung it quickly at a nearby tree, the blade only slow minutely as it sliced through the tree. It left a clean cut all the way through. Lux touched the blade quickly and felt it's razor edge cut into his flesh, he flinched momentarily. He looked around the camp and sighed as he embedded the blade once more into the soft earth. He laid on the grass, still wet with dew. He looked up at the sky and counted the clouds aimlessly

Shalrien and Shade Guard and unofficial guard of Squad 4
"You're up early." Shalrien commented from under the protection of a tree, the woman using her large panther as a cushion, though the cat didn't seem to mind. "Sorry to bother you, it's just Shade is more content laying here than talking to me." She joked, though at many times it seemed as if the two communicated. "Is something troubling you Lux?" Shalrien asked as she got up, stretching her limbs for a moment before coming over and taking a seat next to the other guard. "It was those dreams again, wasn't it?" She asked softly. Not much escaped Shalrien in the dead of night. She and Shade usually listened to Lux talk in his sleep, though not intentionally of course.

++Squad 4 Guard: Lux of the White Rose++ He looked over at the woman who had emerged from the trees, she was a fellow guard. HE closed his eyes, she always seemed to know when he had dreams. A long sigh escaped his lips has he sat up, "Yeah, but this time I had dreamed that I was in that last town, you know the one we got to too late..." His voice trailed off. That town had been hard for him, it was one of the places he had lived before his father moved them to the capital, he knew most of the people who had lived there. He stood up and walked over the the tree he had felled earlier and sat on it. They had lived there till he was seventeen, and the woman he was engaged to had lived there.

Shalrien and Shade Guard and unofficial guard of Squad 4
Nodding her head lightly, Shalrien leaned back on her arms as she looked up at the sky. "I do remember. The smell of blood was thick in the air. However, it wasn't our fault. The higher ups did not hand out the assignment until it was too late. A scout from the Deathwalkers of that village had intercepted the message and warned the others. They killed everyone before we even got the news that we needed to go to the village." Shalrien said. "I know the deathwalkers trouble you. Growing up in the organization, I have seen many friends fall to the deathwalkers. However that is our job. To bring peace to the dead and destroy the deathwalkers." She said calmly. Shade walked over at that moment and purred softly, rubbing her head against Lux's back. A small smile traced Shalrien's lips as she watched them. "All this means is that next time, we'll have even more of a reason to tear those monsters limb from limb."

++ Squad 4 guard: Lux of the White Rose++ Lux's expression seemed to lighten as the large Cat rubbed it's head against his back. His gaze drifted towards the sword embedded into the dirt, "Mangetsu, Full Moon. I received it from my father as well as his dying wish for me to bring honor back to our clan. Somewhere out there is Mangetsu's sister sword, Ameterasu. My Clan was originally from that town but things had gotten out of hand, my father thinks it was when the mayor became a deathwalker. I well not forgive them, they have made this fight personal." He said staring into the swords crimson blade. the heirloom seemed to almost glow. he closed his eyes but it was no good, he couldn't picture anything at all, not even the face of his former lover, whom he'd had to kill after she became a deathwalker. he shook the thoughts from his mind.

Mayu Nikita Squad 4's Vestec The day was not something Mayu wanted to greet yet. She was curled up in her tent, her knee's brought tight into her chest as she kept remembering the last village they had been to. All the monsters.... all the dead.... She shivered as she thought of the dead, their handler being amongst them. The other two didn't know yet, and she was still in shock and mourning. He had covered her escape, and she knew he had been felled for it. She just felt it. And it's my fault.. Biting her lower lip, she felt a few tears roll down her cheeks. She had failed all those people, but she felt the failure to her team the most.
Straightening up as she heard voices outside, she quickly wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, double checking the small mirror she had that had been a present from her parents before they left with their respective teams. Good, she didn't look too worse for wear. Ok Mayu, you can do this. Just.... tell them. It happens, you can still face the day. Now get up and go! She told herself firmly, pushing herself up and out into the light.
Her long hair was braided over one shoulder, a flower she found pinned in it's base. She came out in time to hear the end of what Shalrien had been saying, biting her lower lip. "Even more so now." She called softly, her voice still catching in her throat. "Mal was...." She took a deep breath, closing her eyes in an attempt to keep her calm so she wouldn't cry. So what if she hadn't known him that long? He had still been a team mate! "He's not coming." Her voice cracked a little, clasping her hands to hide how they were shaking.
