x_Silver_Starlight_x LilChibiusa x_Silver_Starlight_x Epcot Illuminations I like how my friend does it. She sets it up in stages like so: stage 1: numbers 1-10: get a 5 and win 5k (This is just a gold base prize thing though the prizes can be anything) Stage 2: numbers 1-20: get a 10 and win 10k Stage 3: numbers 1-30: Get a 15 and win 15k Stage 4: numbers 1-40: get 20 and win 20k Stage 5 (Final stage): numbers 1-50: get 25 and win 25k+a bonus You only receive the prize for the highest stage you got to before time ran out, so say you got to stage 5 you only receive 25k and the bonus prize. My friend that uses this style is lilchibiusa The problem with that one is that the number possibilities are too small and someone would win really fast. Easy enough to fix though. 1-10,000,000 get 5,000,000 win 5k 1-20,000,000 get 10,000,000 win 10k 1-30,000,000 get 15,000,000 win 15k etc. or 10,000 instead of 10,000,000 Those odds are way way too low. It is rather inadvisable to put the odds any lower than 1-250. If you have them 1-500, you might get one or two winners in a month if the thread is really popular. Plus, people usually aren't going to stick around and play if the prizes aren't good. You have to make it worth their time and effort to play. This is all from personal experience. True. We need to find something that keeps too many people from winning or too fast as well. I don't imagine we have that much we can give away after all. So we need to find a good balance. If we had a big prize like an Antique Shop to give to the first winner, we could keep interest in the game high. But, would such games really raise much awareness and interest for the ball?

I think, if the person won, we could send them a PM as well as a trade, informing them about the Ball. We could also chat in the thread, informing people if they read our posts.
(Sorry, just played Monopoly sweatdrop they had Info cards)

Or! Give small prizes, and along with each small prize is a riddle attached with some sort of hint at the Ball's theme.
A really difficult hint. THAT could draw some attention.

Or, we could a double whammy and advertise the ball through ball-wide art auctions. The fundraising committee kind of disappeared, so why not do both at once? People who want art usually hang around and chat. We could chat about the ball while they're waiting. I'm just afraid of going in the wrong direction with ball funds when we're already behind on fundraising.

If they want to find the theme though, they could find the planning guild easily. The planning is in fact available to all of Gaia. We could though, tell them to officially get their prize they will have to attend atleast one day of the ball. Doesn't need to be a main room but we need proof that they did post in he ball forum somewhere. I say that all hosts should donate 10k to the ball funds that they will get back to use for their rooms. This way each room is already auranteed 10k to start off with. 10k Should be easy to get from each host (first and secondary. If that was to happen then that would give the ball 140k more than what is already there. Sure the money comes back to the room to be used for the room but atleast does something.

Yes, but the theme is supposed to be kind of a secret to the public.
I like the idea of giving away the prize during the Ball!
And the Fundraising thread is dead, right? I tried to send a trade to the supposed Fundraising mule, and it was never accepted.
If the Fundraising committee is in fact MIA, maybe we can take some of their ideas and do them guild-wide. Like the zOMG running day, or whatever.

It might confuse many of the guests if we were to give away prizes during the ball for something that most of them never knew about. Thanks to the Gaia announcements, just about everyone has heard about the ball. A game thread would accomplish about the same thing as the announcements. But, just because they've heard of it doesn't mean they know exactly what it is, and how much fun it can be. It's the in depth conversations that you have with people that make them curious about the ball. I'm afraid if we have page after page of random gameplay posts, then people will be so focussed on winning prizes that they will promptly forget about the ball. I really do think that we need to have a stronger presence in the roleplaying forums.

We can create a sponsor sticky for the ball, and give guilds that have advertised the ball with announcements and etc. a spot on our sponsors page. It would be great advertising for both of us. (If you read this before my edits, sorry for my awful typos!)

As for having a presence in each of those places, maybe we could divide up the forums by lots of people in the ball. For example, we could get all of the GCD regulars to post in there about the ball. I hang out in the GCD when I'm not doing ball stuff or guild stuff, so I know how it works in there. I'm sure that other people have their own niches as well.

I can see who I can bring, we should also see about updating the signature's for this forum.I can offer some hand drawn art for fund-raising purposes. I might know a few good generous people more than willing to help as well.

I already talked to the vice-cap of the NSTG, and she is extremely willing to advertise the ball if we give her more info. I also talked to the lead editor of the GOM, and he is willing to give as a full page ad in next month's issue of GOM. Try guilds you guys are part of, or just make topics and chill in them in the forums!

I am starting a Disney Radio Station, and am planning on placing ads in for places for free as I don't have to pay a cent for my radio station online, I am premiering it this weekend hopefully, and will place an ad up for the Annual ball.
