Thanks Amanda, you are an inspiration , Now to get my butt in gear! I also don't have a gym close by. I'm out in the country with 2 small boys, as soon as the weather warms a bit I think we will have to blaze a few trails. Until then , maybe I should clean off the treadmill sweatdrop

I just had my first daughter two months ago, and I actually ended up weighing less than I did in high school. I was around 140 lbs before my belly, and now I weigh 137. Being this was my first child, and my mother did the same with her first (me), I was sick all the time. If I didn't eat in the morning, I would dry heave, and if I ate, I would throw up my meal, and then some. NO, I do not recommend this!!! It scared me so much that I couldn't eat anything, and you're supposed to have that special "preggo" diet. By the time I hit my 6th month, I had lost 10 lbs!!! My doctor kept harping about eating right. My response to him was basically, I'm worried about eating period. If I couldn't keep anything down, why would I try to eat something I KNOW will make me sick? I finally gained about 20 lbs in my last 2 months of pregnancy. I weighed in at 151 lbs just before I delivered. All of that was Ariana. Of course, I have a little loose skin, and stretch marks like crazy. I'd love to lose all of that, but we're getting ready to move. We'll be leaving North Dakota the last week of January. Maybe when we're settled, I can start a regimen, but for now, my only excersize is walking her and packing boxes, lol. Good luck to those of you who almost have time to excersize. And I love the shower idea, I may try that. 3nodding

Had my daughter, now it's back to the old drawing board. I'm still supposed to be babying my stitches (or, more to the point, the place where I ripped one out), so no leg lifts! Fortunately, breast-feeding in bed causes a lot of unintentional sit-ups, so I'm making headway toward making those new stretch marks at least look toned...

I am okay with my weight but I know that I should lose some, so I am gonna try to drop a few pounds. Even if I just cut back on the sweets it would help me. I am between 5'8 and 5'9 & I weight about 210

I'm currently trying a diet, saw it in Women's World Magazine.
Basically, one day you would eat normally. Whatever you wanted (Although they say you should cut out the bad stuff if you can) And then the second day, you eat half of what you do. Its all about portions, and the dynamic of the two different days boost your metabolism. Its easier so far then those drastic diets, because it isn't hard to go just one day eating less. ^^
Basically, I have my Dairy and some fruit in the morning, more fruits, veggies and probably a sandwich, and then my meats and carbs for dinner. Thats on the good day!
This of course goes with exercise, so I'll keep you updated on how its working. ^^

i am over weight. I am 5 foot4 and 190lbs. i was 185 when i got pregnant. 215 when i gave birth. 205 after birth. i tried the whole, walk 2 miles a day. eat lots of healthy foods. but after 6 months i gave up. so i am just living life day by day. somedays i do good and eat healthy. other days i do BAD! my husband suggested that i listen to my body and it will tell you what it needs. (hince cravings)so far i have lost 5 lbs. it seems to work for me.

I find the biggest gift I gave myself with weight loss was just patience and forgiveness. I am 5'7" and 160 - when I married I was 125 - so there have been a few pounds put on during my marriage (grin) I exercise 3 times a week on the Nordic Trak for 40 minutes each and lift 10 lb weights 3 times a week. I find I feel better - but the pounds are not going off! Maybe someday! (grin)

The doctor says I've gained too much weight for pregnancy (already gained 35 pounds but still have 2 months to go) so she tells me to eat better and excercise. How do I do it? My boyfriend buys the groceries since he's the only one with a job right now and he isn't exactly the worlds most health eater. Also, any amount of physical exertion totally exhausts me right now so I'm just at a loss....

The doctor was on my case about weitght gain then too. At the time we were in an apartment and I found that giong to the pool was a nice way to exercise. Helped take the extra weight strain from the pregnancy off my back too. Walking is good if you can do that. My OB said that she would go for a walk every night after dinner.
I didn't worry too much about dieting with either of my pregnancies, so I can't help you there.

chibi_kasumi_108 Well, we live in an area where I wouldn't exactly feel comfortable walking. Do you think DDR is okay when you're pregnant? Gah!!! I was actually silly enough to try that! It hurts and can jumpstart labor. It also left me completely winded after, like, half a song. And the whole time the baby was just bouncing up and down against my pelvis. Even if the doctor says it's okay (which I doubt), I don't recommend it. I've never tried dieting during pregnancy either, though. I'd say your best bet is to hammer on your bf to bring you a big bag of apples, a couple bunches of bananas, and plenty of dried fruit. Keeps you regular, and is a handy healthy alternative to most other snacks.
