Hunter Daemon shook. Class had just ended and the bell had rung loudly, and annoying in his opinion, jolting him from his thoughts. He pushed his half-frame black glasses up with his knuckle and took a deep breath. Today was a big day. It was the first meeting of his Prodigy Club. It would offer tutoring and the chance to play strategy games of all kind as means of improving memory, analysis etc.

Hunter stood at his full, lacking, height of five feet five inches and gathered up his books in a calm manner. That was Hunter. Calm. And uninteresting. And blah, blah. He caught sight of the girl he had a crush on since freshman year as she left class. He tucked a strand of his longish dirty blond hair behind his ear, his forest green eyes bright. So beautiful.... He thought as he put his things away and headed out of the door.

He had the insane urge to ask her if she would like to come to his meeting. He walked up close behind her...and at the last second turned around. She was too...hot. Beautiful hair, amazing figure, intelligent, witty and independent. What chance did he have?

Hunter had quickly learned how to get around the school without getting ran over. Let himself be small. He darted between people until he pushed into a locker. He turned and looked irritably at Greg. His one friend in the school. The term was used loosely at the moment. Greg loved messing with him. "Hello Greg. And to what do I owe the pleasure of smelling my locker?" Greg chuckled. "I'm coming to your geek thing." And he stalked off. Hunter sighed and made his way nervously to the meeting room hoping people would show up.

There were a few people there. No one he knew as he entered he waved and made his way to the front. "We will start shortly. Its still early and I want to give everyone a chance to come." Because will show up right?

The bell rang, finally, signaling the end of another dreary day at high school. Thank god. Gathering up her books, she ignored the stares of the boys on the other side of the room, swinging her bag over her shoulder. Sure their school didn't have uniforms, but her sense of style must have reminded more than a few boys of that catholic school girl style and it annoyed her. But like hell she was going to change it. She bid farewell to her teacher since they got along rather well all considering, managing a small smile for her before walking out the door.

Wandering down the hall towards her locker, she noticed she felt the presence of being watched. Closely. Turning, her expression was impassive as she glanced between those behind her. But her gaze focused on the boy that was walking away. Hmph, he was in her class. Sighing to herself, she soon arrived at her locker, putting away the things she didn't need and taking the things she did. Her guitar was amongst them. She shifted how she held her bag so she could wear her guitar on her back, it's case nicely padded against some of the roudy buffoons in the corridor.

She started to head for the door when she noticed the club board, pausing to see if anything interesting had popped up. No... No... no? no.. No.... Her eyes paused upon the word 'Prodigy.' Tilting her head, she noticed it was a tutoring gig of some sort, frowning a bit as she thought it over. Maybe they could use a hand. So she turned away and went against the tide of the horde of people trying to leave the prison that was this school.

It didn't take long for her to find the room, easily shifting through the people to reach her destination. The people of this school knew better than to mess with her. She shook her head at the thought of the last guy who tried to put his hands on her without her consent. That didn't end well for him. Stepping through the door, she noticed that the kid from her class was in there, causing an eyebrow to raise as she found a spot towards the windows and about in the middle of the room. Placing her guitar down gently, she laid her back on the desk and leaned back in the chair, crossing her legs with a sigh. Least I work weekends.

Amaya Radford

User ImageThis class is too easy... Amaya thought as she stared emotionless at another 'A' paper handed back. She shoved it in her bag and leaned back in her chair, waiting for the class to be over. Sure enough, the bell rang and Amaya shoved her chair out, getting up at the same time as she pulled up her bag and moved the chair back. It was almost like a dance...but Amaya was just so bored to death, she wanted to get the hell out of there, all those idiots in her class were talking the whole time, and doing god knows what in the seats behind her. Somedays Amaya just wanted to beat the s**t out of them, but she knew better. She was taught better.

As she walked through the halls, the jocks that had learned their lesson not to pick on her cleared out of the way with the girl's cold glare. Her black army boots thumped against the ground with every step, almost signaling the end of the world to some. But no, Amaya was not a bully, she just didn't put up with bullshit from people who thought they were better than her. And if they tried to tell her they were in any way, well, the results weren't pretty.

Kids seemed to be coming and going around the bulletin board, a few pausing at some paper. Jocks, hearing the familiar thud that was usually followed with pain, cleared out fast to allow Amaya through. It was something called...Prodigy club? What the ******** is this? So Hunter is taking pity of the poor sons of bitches who are failing? No...poor b*****d is probably tired of being in the shadows. He drools over Kara everyday, bet part of this is about her...disgusting. Just another pitiful ******** attempt to make friends in this hell we call highschool.... Amaya thought to herself as she furrowed her eyebrows while she stared at the note a little longer.

When she was done, she turned, leaving just as soon as she had come, passing Hunter while his 'buddy' Greg talked to him. Seeing the boy get slammed into his a locker, a light smirk rose on Amaya's lips as she walked past. She'd be hearing about this soon enough in her next class to see who all was going to this, 'Prodigy club'. There were perks to staying silent and nearly invisible when she wanted. Amaya had friends, but they knew when to speak to her, and when to leave her be, and today was one of those days to leave her be. Now seated in her math class, Amaya sighed. It was her least favorite subject, but she just looked out the window, resting her head on her hand as she waited for the end of the day.

((Yeeeeaaaah, that wasn't the worst language she'll probably present at times. Keep in mind she's an army brat, and I know for a fact they swear like no other in the army. Soooo, yeah. Don't take Amaya's cursing to heart and I'll try to avoid it when I can, but hey, just playing a character. wink ))

Adan Waters

It was just yesterday when Adan Waters had seen the new paper posted on the rarely-used bulletin board in the campus. He had just come from yet another torturous period at their Mathematics class, which apparently, had a new name after he left middle school, but he was too tired from working last night and had probably dozed off the whole class, which he usually did when the day was leaning towards 2 PM in the afternoon. It was just that the wind outside was coming in, comforting his stressed muscles, making him relax into his chair. Eh, he always had an excuse. He gets away with it most of the time, since he told his teachers that he was working to have an everyday allowance. Er, he might have stretched the truth a little.

Blinking his droopy eyelids, Adan's excited dark eyes had rushed over to where the said place was for the club. He was psyched, determined to catch up to his new target this time, who was a girl who had straight Bs. He had wanted to rise himself from his C pluses, and figured this girl was enough to be his imaginary stepping stone for the time being he worked and studied some more.

His boss was kind enough to let him slide during the days that he had to attend the Prodigy Club - the store owner had chuckled lightly at this name - but had lowered his pay by a few dollars. It didn't matter - once he understood how to do that strange equation in Math, he was going to quit the club, and come back when he needed it again. That wouldn't be hard, right? It would be worth it. His brother had joked over this. 'Maybe you'll meet someone worthwhile, Den. Someone who actually doesn't get their head dunked into the toilets.'

No matter how insulted Adan was, it was fine by him. You'll see Samuel Waters, He thought, with a face that was not going to be undeterred by any matter that comes in his way to reaching an A minus in Math. I'll get a new, not loser friend, and some more respect from my Math teacher.

But reality seemed keen on keeping him from reaching that goal; the Prodigy Club wasn't even attended by anyone he knew who was popular. Well, except the pretty sophomore that every boy in the school had their eyes on. He wouldn't blame them, she was everything every boy wanted from a girl. Ah well. His grades came first. Girls are at the bottom of his priorities. He proceeded to seat on the chair in front and closest to where the club leader was, but ducked and hurried himself to get there. He didn't really want to bother anyone.

Hunter still stood in front of the class. Well thats how he thought of it anyway. Most of them were not students he knew and those he did know seemed not to be brilliant. That was until SHE walked in and made his heart skip a beat. What is she doing here? OHMYGODWHATDOIDO? He thought. He took a shallow breath to calm himself down Greg arriving shortly after with Marrisa on his arm. Marissa was tall, red headed and gorgeous. She loved Hunter like a little brother. She waved and he smiled back at her.

He had the confidence to start now. It didnt seem anyone else would show up either. "H-hello. And welcome to the Prodigy Club." He said his voice a lot stronger than he expected though it still held a bit of a tremor. "My name is Hunter Daemon. I am in charge of this club. The idea is to a) tutor you and b) use strategy games to enhance your analytical skills, thought processing prioritizing and such. Studies have shown that a 10% increase in grades occur when...." He trailed off. He didnt want to ramble...yet.

He clapped his hands. "Well. Lets get started shall we! In order to learn everyone's name I would like you to please stand and state your name. After that we can play a game. It will help you with your...you will see." He said nodding at the end.

Kara glanced around as a couple more people found their way into the classroom, recognizing faces of people she knew and those who must be freshman. There were a few cute ones, the club leader included, but she felt no need to act upon such impulses. It was one of those things that she sort of avoided for personal reasons. She was only here to offer her services as a tutor in whatever subject she would be needed.

She noticed that the club leader seemed rather nervous, though she couldn't blame him since he probably hadn't done something like this before. She rested an elbow on her desk and rested her chin in the palm of her hand, her back facing the windows. Hmm... Maybe this kid decided to tutor everyone on his own? No, that would be stupid and unreasonable. Inwardly she shook her head and disregarded the thought, raising an eyebrow to what they were going to do. Ah the same old beginning club meeting stuff....

She waited as a few went ahead with their names, listening as a couple included with their class in terms of Junior or sophomore and whatnot. It made her grimace on the inside. She waited for a boy to finish before standing, a hand remaining on her desk as the other hung at her side. "I'm Kara Sycamore." She spoke, leaving it at that as she sat back down, resuming the way she had been sitting before. Though she didn't rest her head on her hand. She just sorta leaned back a bit as she noticed a few who announced themselves juniors glance to each other and then her. Her eyes narrowed at this, wondering now if she had made a mistake by coming here. No. Ignore them. Gossipy bitches. She sighed lightly and waited for the rest to go, turning her gaze out the window to the clear sky. Her fingers were itching to play her guitar on the roof like she normally did, but she had to hold in the urge. No. Business first.

Maria Alexander

Maria was finished her art class lesson. The project was about what you feel what Freedom is about. It was one day but it would take many days. The teacher would love to see more students than a few to show passion in her work.

The bell rung as she went off to get something to drink. Maria look at the board to see a new club. "Prodigy Club." She smiled. It seem to be a tutoring club. Maria decided to take a look since it the first time.

As she enter the room, she was quiet as a mouse.

Hunter smiled. They had finished up saying their names. He had most of them memorized now. He then fished around around in his backpack coming up with a deck of cards. He unwrapped it slowly as he began to speak. "We are going to play Mao. The point of Mao is to figure out the rules. I will not tell you them. Your goal is to figure out the rules."

He and Greg and Marissa pulled a few tables together and he began dealing. The game went fairly well. After people got the hang of it. Some became very good at it. Kara was one of them. He had figured she would be. An hour quickly came and went the club was done for the day.

"Thank you everyone for coming." He said. "Our next meeting is on Wednesday!" He said the group began to disperse Greg and Marissa waiting for him.

Kara heard the movement of the door and noticed that the art teacher had slipped in, smirking slightly to herself to see her there. She knew teachers would probably find this club interesting all considering. But her attention returned to Hunter as he announced the game, raising an eyebrow as she blinked twice. O-k...... She reluctantly moved in closer to people and played, soon figuring out a pattern amidst what was going on.

It didn't take long for them to be done, pushing herself up as the kid spoke again and announced their next meeting. She walked back over to her desk and grabbed her things, shouldering her bag as she thought about what she would be doing tonight. One particular thought came to mind and she smirked to herself. They'll appreciate it.

Glancing over to Hunter, she realized that if she was going to ask anything, now would be the time. So she walked over to him, making sure she wasn't interrupting anything with his friends. "Hey. I wanted to ask about the tutoring thing. Are you going to be recruiting people to be tutors or are you planning on something else? Because if you are recruiting, I wouldn't mind tutoring in math, music, or literature especially. I'm also good at chemistry." She asked him, one hand coming to rest on her hip as the other held the straps of her bags so they wouldn't fall off her shoulder.

Amaya Radford

User ImageThe day was over, as quickly as it came and the clubs were all meeting. Amaya wasn't one for clubs. Most were either stupid or sports related. She enjoyed working on her martial arts and messing around with a few of the techniques her father showed her growing up, before she and her mom left anyway. It was no one's fault, that's just how things ended up. Occasionally she'd be able to go see her dad, so it wasn't like it was the end of the world for Amaya. They still talked on the phone and stuff, so it was no big deal to her, though all her ******** teachers acted like it was, especially last time he was deployed. How many ******** times did she have to say it? She didn't care, her dad could take care of himself.

Since there was no real reason to go home yet, and her regular friends bothered her, she decided to look for Kara. They were friends after all. Had been since Amaya moved to town. Kara at least understood Amaya better than most, and it was easier to hang out that way. Not always asking how she was feeling. If Amaya wanted to share her feelings, she would, and that was it. After talking to a few teachers, Amaya actually passed by the Prodigy Club meeting and raised her pierced eyebrow, discovering none other than Kara in the meeting. Amaya had no desire to enter that room, so she moved to the wall parallel to the room and shoved her hands in the pockets of her khaki cargo pants, waiting patiently for her friend to emerge.

She didn't like this. It felt weird. This whole club just emerging from a guy who usually sat in the shadows. But perhaps Amaya was just off today because she was worried a little about her dad. He had gotten deployed again. Such was the life of the army. Amaya may have always come off as cold and caring, but she loved both of her parents dearly, and she cared about her friends even more. She cared about Kara, only as a friend though, but she cared nonetheless and she didn't like Hunter hanging around. He was a nice enough guy, but he was just...Amaya couldn't put her finger on it. So she waited...

Kara didn't get to wait for long though as her phone began to vibrate, making her brows furrow as she pulled it out of her pocket. Her features immediately darkened before she jammed her phone back into the poor pocket it had come from, reaching into her bag to pull out a pen. Aaand then she grabbed Hunter's hand without so much as a warning, writing down her number in the palm of his hand. "Here. I gotta get going, but let me know the answer ok? I don't care if you text or call, as long as I get an answer. Oh yeah, tell me it's you if you text. Otherwise I probably won't read it. Sorry, I'll catch ya later." She told him as she finished writing her number down. And with that, she let go of his hand and stuff the pen back into her bag, walking out of the room.

She was about to pull her phone out to answer that a*****e, but she stopped when she saw Amaya there. "Oh, hey Amaya. One of those days?" She asked, continuing to pull out her phone. She flipped it to one side and slid the lid up, furiously typing a response. Within a few seconds, her phone was back in her pocket, now standing to a slight diagonal of her friend. Most avoided Amaya like the plague, but she liked the girl. She understood where she was coming from.

User ImageAs Kara came out, Amaya waited for her to finish texting whomever it was she was texting, then began walking with the girl. "Seems like you haven't had much better." Amaya noted, nodding her head towards the phone. "My dad got shot yesterday. He'll be okay, he nailed the ******** who did it, blew his brains out. But yeah, it's been one of those days..." Amaya murmured as she looked down at the floor.

Looking back up now, Amaya turned her gaze to Kara. "What the hell were you doing in that meeting though? It's not like you need help with school or anything." She stated. "But more importantly why were you talking to that little creeper. He's always staring at you. Frankly it's ******** weird." The girl told her as they made it outside, Amaya immediately putting on her aviators to shield her eyes from the light. Sighing, she shook her head a little. "Oh well, it's not like it's any of my damn business in the end. What was the text about though?" She asked, remember her friend seemed angry about it before. "Do I need to break somebody's arm for you or something?" She asked with a slight grin. She was kidding of course.....at least she came off that way.

Kara fell into step with her friend, giving a scoffing chuckle as she shook her head at the text. She sighed and shook her head again at that knowledge. "Good, I'm glad. Well mine's been fine till that bs, but whatever." She muttered, brushing her long hair back from her eyes.

She started to shrug, but stopped mid way when she called Hunter a creeper. It made her smirk a little, but she allowed her shrug to finish with a small chuckle. Kara just looked to the ground as they stepped outside, allowing her friend to finish before she spoke. Now she laughed and shook her head, turning her hazel eyes to her friend. "No, you don't need to beat anyone up. Just my mom." Amaya would know what she meant by that, exhaling a breath of frustration. Yep, she'd head to the bar and play for a bit tonight. Whatever.

"As for the club, I was there so I could offer to be a tutor. No other reason than that really. As for Hunter, yes I do know his name because of that club meeting," She held up a finger for emphasis, her one hand holding onto her bags straps again. "He probably likes the view. Probably has a crush on me if I had to guess anything. If I start seeing him sneaking pictures outside my house though, then I'll lay on some heat. And I'll invite you don't worry. I know you'd hate to miss out." She chuckled, personally not really bothered. She may sound stuck up by saying she was used to it, but she didn't mean to. She wasn't stupid, she knew a lot of guys checked her out. If this were an anime, she'd probably be that typical "prettiest-girl-in-the-school-that-everyone-wants-to-date-because-she's-their-dream-girl." In her head she scoffed at the idea and glared it down. She was far from it.

"Anyways, I was going to head to Ben's place for a set, you wanna go?" She asked, pulling herself from her thoughts to focus on her friend.

She knew Amaya was there if she wanted help, and if she didn't, Amaya shouldn't worry about it. "I was half planning to beat the s**t out of him for fun, but a jock who didn't get the word took care of my anger for me. So I'll leave him. I've got nothing else better to do, so sure, I'll go hang out at Ben's with you." Amaya told Kara with a light shrug. "You been able to get any practicing in besides some school time?" She asked as she rolled her head over to look at her friend.

Kara made a face of pain and chuckled a little at that, "Ooo, well he knows the word now." She smirked, kind of wishing that Amaya would let up on Hunter a bit. Though her lack of patience for bullshit was just how she was so she didn't really expect her to change. It's why she never really said anything. She was just more tolerant of things than her friend was all.

"Awesome. Who knows, maybe it'll help the day be less shitty than it is now." She smirked, looking up as Amaya rolled her head to look at her. She grimaced and shook her head, a hint of sadness in her eyes as she looked to the ground again. "Nope. Been too busy with other crap. Work, home, school work... You know, the works." She sighed and shrugged it off, watching as the cars went by while waiting for a break to cross on the red light. Ben's wasn't too far from their school so it wasn't a very long walk thankfully. "Hows the martial arts coming? Gonna enter any competitions this time round?" She cocked her head as they turned a corner, her boots clicking on the pavement.
