The only reason I would watch it is, like cookie said, because of the 'love is blind' thing..
But honestly, the guy is prett- really freakin attractive all beasteded up..xD
But it looks pretty stupid, not the movie the idea, the fact that this total asshat gets turned ugly and goes all 'poor me..D;' He totally deserves it._. And I think it's fine to judge something if you've seen the previews.. usually movies suck, compared to books..

I thought it looked kinda stupid, but that's because cheesy romance films bore me. And I thought the dude looked pretty attaractive with or witout the scars and all that. Now that I hear the actual story line though, it just sounds more stupid. His family locks him away for looking the slightest bit different? Hm, in a story that's supposed to be about love and how looks shouldn't matter, that's really bad. xD; I might read the book though. Books are almost always better than movies. 3nodding

I saw the book at Barnes and Noble on Monday. o: Didn't get it though. xDD The movie seems eh. Don't really care to try to get mom to take me to see it. Although, the guy does look pretty cute, even when he's "ugly." xd This kind of reminds me of Penelope for some reason.

And what exactly do you think the book is based off of? Disney movie or no Disney movie, the Beauty and the Beast I was talking about is the story in general which existed long before Disney. Now how can you say it has nothing to do with Beauty and the Beast? That is like saying West Side Story has nothing to do with Romeo and Juliet. Besides, book-based movies generally suck and I'm usually very good on deciding the quality of a movie through the trailers. Testicular Diabeetus It has nothing to do with Beauty And The Beast. It is based on a book. The book is called Beastly, I read it in 9th grade. Pretty good book if you ask me, but you shouldn't go and judge something if you haven't even watched it. It isn't fair.

Eheh you do have a point ^^; I thought that to...The Directer must have something wrong with them to think that's what ugly is, most Directers never get it right. o_-
I still wanna watch the movie though.... (cause the guys kinda hot.)

K R A Y Z E H K R A Y Z E H SEZ: I'm never a fan of Girl-falls-in-love-with-guy-films BUT! Not a probem! 'Cause i just don't watch it so i know i'm not allowed to complain. whee
EDIT: A book?!! Damn that's tempting me now.
EDIT EDIT: BUT to say he's 'ugly' for a few scars is very shallow. Is it like that in the book too? I can understand calling someone ugly over their bad personality though. /END The end result of the transformation completely differ from the book to the movie, if I remember correctly. But overall, I thought that it was a somewhat enjoyable book. Give it a read if you get the chance so you can make a judgement for yourself. xD

I'm going to see it. and to be honest i think most movie's now a days are brought on by some idea that's already been done... i mean like... like avatar if you look at it, it makes you think of the Disney movie pocahontas. At least for me it did.
I wouldn't say its the same. UNTIL i see the movie. its not the same. yea the fact that the guy is ugly, and the only way that it will break the spill is by him finding a girl to accept him for his 'beauty' inside isn't new. but at the same point. i think its also trying to always crank into teens heads. :/ i mean how many teens do you know that won't talk to someone who is somewhat ugly? most. 3nodding I mean the guy isn't as beastly as the title makes him out to be. sure i'd image him being some ugly ********. but for a guy that is 'perfect' and probably wants perfection, thats hell all its self. Maybe he doesn't need things growing out of him, or a diese. but its still hell for him.
Now i'm interested in the fact that its based on a book.

Okay, here's my two cents...
The guy looks hotter as a "beast" than he did as a human.
I'm a big, big fan of Beauty and the Beast, and will watch any version of it because I want to see if they do justice for the story.
Also, I don't think it's fair to be going around talking about his scars as if they're "not a big deal". "Appearances aren't everything?" Well, they sure ain't nothing. Think of it, one day your life seems perfect, and you have everything you could ever need, then the next day it's all taken from you including your appearance. Just imagine yourself with his scars. People would judge you with one look. You couldn't get a decent job. People would be afraid of you and keep their distance. You couldn't go to many public places without being stared at and scaring little kids. Your life is a living hell; to the point you believe staying inside is the best thing you could do for everyone.
And another thing before I go....
Who are you to tell us we're shallow people for wanting to watch a movie? You don't see me calling you out just because you might be a Twilight fan while I down right hate the series. I came to this guild not to be judged, so please be nice.

I was about to point that out as well.
And remembering that, I was planning on reading the book, because heck, books are almost always better than the movie.

I lol'd when I saw the previews. I won't be paying to see that. But the thing is that I am not much for romance flicks. I like action and movies that will make me think a little bit more, rather than mindlessly stare at the screen for a couple hours.
