"Don't t..talk?" Mitsu's face paled a little as her heart leaped into her throat and then immediately sank into her stomach. Him trying to cover for what he said really didn't seem to help matters much as Mitsu clung rather desperately to her backpack strap. Had...she upset him that much? Did he not want to be friends with her anymore? It wasn't that she could blame him...she had brought a lot of problems for him. Suto being the biggest of them all.
"N..no, I understand." She tried to smile a little but her eyes were very sad as her gaze diverted to the side. "Y..you just want some space right now." Tentatively she took a step back. "I...if you need anything just...let me know okay?" Should she just...leave him be then? Mitsu was at a loss for what to do in this situation. She felt rather horrible for upsetting him so badly but wasn't really sure how to make it better.

"It's.. not you..."
Having trouble looking at her, Shun found himself staring at the ground. He probably looked more pitiful than intimidating right now. Everything really seemed to be pointing in one direction..
"I.. " he hesitated and turned away again. He didn't understand how words could feel so heavy, "I think I love you.."
Cringing after barely managing to speak that, he didn't look at her and started walking again. Right now, he just wanted to lock himself into his room, hoping that Blade wouldn't be around for awhile at least.

Mitsu's eyes widened at Shun's confession, her gaze turning back up in time to see his retreating back. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. What could she say? She was at a complete loss as she watched her friend walk away from her looking more upset than she could ever remember seeing him.
He...loved her? Or...thought he did. Maybe he was confused like she had been? Sure, she could say she loved him but it wasn't the same love that she had for Desmond. The love she had for Shun was much closer to the love she had for her brother. He was dear to her, motivated her to do things she didn't want to do, encouraged her, and stood by her in the toughest of times. He also knew her secrets and he kept them safe so that the others around them wouldn't suffer.
With a frown Mitsu found she wasn't able to say anything as Shun got further and further away. She merely watched in a sad silence as he retreated, her head a mess of thoughts on how to make this better. Nothing was really coming to mind....Maybe she could ask Desmond? He might have an answer to this complicated issue.

There was a distant look in Shun's eyes as he made his way back to his room. His pace was slower than usual and in general he didn't seem very much like his usual self at all. A storm of thoughts still went on in his head and he basically just tuned everything else out. He thought about his personal revelation, and about the situation as a whole and how he could deal with it if anything.
For a moment, his instinct was to eradicate the problem; get rid of Desmond, but he quickly realized that would only hurt Mitsu in the end if she felt that way about the guy. A part of him was furious with this. That damn vampire had practically shattered the girl, leaving him to pick up and put together the pieces. And now he had been back like nothing had happened.
Apparently that didn't matter.

---Let's Do the Time Warp---
A couple of days went by and Mitsu found herself sitting in class staring at the empty seat that usually held Shun. He hadn't shown up at all for classes yesterday and she had yet to see him today. It had her worried and distressed, her focus hardly on the school work in front of her.
When the bell rang to let her know yet another class had gone by Mitsu sighed gathering up her things. She had no idea what they had gone over in class so she was going to have to do some extensive reading to make up for it. Books and papers neatly put away in her backpack, Mitsu headed toward the lunch room hoping to see the assassin so that she could talk to him...though how she would start the conversation she was still unsure.

Spotting Mitsu in the hall, Bent-tail made his way over to the girl with a look of concern. Shun had been worrying him as of late as the guy really hadn't been himself at all. The night before the two of them had a job to perform and while they got it done, the assassin had taken things a little too far. That wasn't the only thing that had him worried though.
"Ey... Mitsu?" he greeted while approaching her, "Just wonderin' if ye spoken wit Shun at all lately... 'e 'asn't been 'imself..."
His ears were lowered back and he was looking over in the general direction of the boys dormitory. The assassin wouldn't speak to him, but maybe Mitsu would have better luck reaching out.

Mitsu had been rather focused on her walking path but when she heard a familiar voice she looked up to see Bent-tail approaching. "Hey, Ben." She said softly as her eyes downcast to her feet. So....he hadn't been himself? That's what she was worried about.
"I...I spoke to him...a couple of days ago." She said softly her eyes looking up toward the boy's dorms as well. "That may be why....he's upset." She said reluctantly, her features very distressed. "I don't know what to do..."

Bent-Tail tilted his head at the girl, wondering what it could have been if she was the cause. He didn't press it, however.
"Mebbe ye should try talkin' t'im. 'E won't talk t'me but mebbe ye'll 'ave more luck... 'E should be in 'is room," he said with a frown. As far as he knew, the guy hadn't really been eating either, but he didn't bring this up, not wanting to alarm her even more.

Mitsu took in a deep breath and let it out slowly as she gripped the straps of her backpack firmly to keep her hands from shaking. She was nervous and a little afraid to see Shun...but she couldn't just avoid the problem. She could just leave him upset. "I'll...do my best." Mitsu nodded to Bent-tail as she headed toward the dorms instead of the cafeteria.
Her walk was painfully slow and the dread kept building up but soon she was at the boys' dorms staring up at the structure like it was a haunted house. Sighing deeply she headed inside hoping she remembered the right room number.
Slow and careful footsteps took her down the hall, it was eerily quiet since everyone was still at school. When she finally made it to Shun's room Mitsu stared at the door for a long while like it was her biggest obstacle. Once or twice she raised her hand to knock but couldn't quite bring herself to do it. Finally though her knuckles tapped on the wood, a soft sound echoing forth. "S...Shun? Are you there?" She asked swallowing the lump in her throat.

Nodding slowly to Mitsu, Bent-Tail heaved a sigh before going on to his next class. He needed to gather up the work his friend had been missing... not that the guy was likely to do it regardless of what mood he was in.
At first, the knocking was only met with silence. After a few moments, though, the door opened revealing Shun at the door. Seeing how Blade wasn't around, he was the only one there. Staring down at Mitsu, he didn't say anything, but he didn't close the door in her face either. His eyes lost a great deal of the intensity they normally had and they seemed almost empty as he gazed at her.
In the past couple days, he had been doing a lot of thinking, and he really didn't like the conclusions he had come to.
Leaving the door open, he looked away and stepped towards his bed.

Mitsu stood at the door awkwardly for some time as the silence loomed on. About to knock again Shun finally opened the door making her draw back her raised hand as she looked up toward him. His eyes seemed to hallow and lifeless...she had never seen him like this before. As he moved back into the room toward his bed, Mitsu sheepishly moved inside and closed the door.
"S..Shun? I've been worried about you. I haven't seen you at school." She started. It was true at least and seeing him the way he was now had her worried all the more.

Slumping down onto the bed, Shun didn't look back up at Mitsu, but he didn't show any indicator that he didn't want her there either.
"...You shouldn't worry about me.." he said quietly. Though soft, his words sounded cold and heavy. Over all, he looked terrible too.
"... Just forget about me and be happy.." he added. As much as it hurt for him to admit that, it was obvious that Desmond did make her happy and such. She probably didn't need the assassin at all.

"Why wouldn't I worry about you? You're my best friend." Mitsu walked a little further into the room, her eyes focused on the assassin as she approached. He looked worn down and tired.
Face deep set in worry Mitsu knelt down in front of Shun, letting her backpack slide off her shoulders to sit beside her. "A...are you really that upset with me? To ask me to forget about you? I don't know how you think...I can do that." Tentatively she reached out a hand to touch his. "You make me happy too, don't you remember? You helped me through a really tough time."

Slowly, Shun glanced up to look at Mitsu as she knelt down in front of him. His eyes lingered on her for awhile, but then they shifted back to the floor between them.
"I don't blame you," he said quietly, "This.. isn't your fault."
A part of him was screaming that it was, but he really couldn't lay it on her.
"And I have my doubts on that.. Those pills you have probably did all the work there..."

Mitsu gave a bit of a sigh. She had wondered during their conversation a couple of days ago if it was because she was with Desmond that Shun was upset...and after his confession it was only far too apparent. But what did her medicine have to do with this? "Shun you made me smile long before I ever started taking that medicine. Its to help me keep my thoughts in order and not feel like I'm...being taken over." It was the best way to describe how it helped.
"I know....you said you thought you loved me," Mitsu hesitated as she walked right into dangerous conversation territory. "And I do love you but I don't think its in the same way. I care about you, you mean a lot to me. You were there...when my brother couldn't be. You kept me safe from others...and myself. And I thought....you didn't want anything passed friendship..."
